In my experience, the bassoon is a device that holds a delicate double reed such that when you swing the instrument up into playing position the angles are perfect for smashing the reed into your teeth thereby breaking the tip of the reed.
My answer would be watch Tom and Jerry for at least a couple of minutes and then you will hear the bassoon. Proof is I watch Tom and Jerry all the time and while I laughing at Tom’s failed attempts to catch Jerry, I just keep on hearing the bassoon many times (usually 5 -10) throughout each episode.
Tom and Jerry is a great example! Orchestral music was used in the scores of many old cartoons - Tom and Jerry, Looney Tunes, and Merrie Melodies - so that's why hear the bassoon so much. Nowadays, cartoons and TV shows don't really use classical music in their scores. Also, in lots of these old cartoons we see something called 'Mickey Mousing,' a film technique where the actions of the characters on screen are synced to the accompanying music (which is often classical). A bit unrelated, but something you might find interesting if you like watching old cartoons and the bassoon. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mickey_Mousing
@@musiscola If I create a cartoon in the future, I will have an orchestra soundtrack and I will without a doubt include the bassoon playing as much times as it’s heard in Tom and Jerry (5 - 10, sometimes 20.) The bassoon is a very beautiful instrument that deserves the love of people around the world.
