  • In this video, we discuss the question of whether or not celebrating non-muslim holidays is permissible. Oftentimes, new Muslims are torn between the ways prevalent amongst their families, the nations of their birth, and what Islam requires of us. In many instances, the leniency and mercy of Islam are not known regarding these matters. Join us as we shed light on this intriguing question! #islam #halal #haram #holidays

know that there is a Hadith that states that we as Muslims only have 2 holidays the Eid Al adha and the Eid Al Fitr. There is also a Hadith that states that you can celebrate. For example we can celebrate when a person graduates from high school

You are absolutely right. That is a personal achievement only done once in one's life. But if you celebrate an individual's graduation (or death, for that matter) on the anniversary of that occurance every year, it becomes a sunna and, therefore, haram!

There is a ayat in the Quran that states that Shatan makes a person bad deeds fair seeming. Just because we have good intentions does not mean it is ok to do.

ALLAH has told us in the Qur’an: that He gave SHAYTAN the power to “seduce us with his SEDUCTIVE VOICE, MAKE ASSAULTS on us with his CAVALRY and his INFANTRY, SHARE with us WEALTH AND CHILDREN (by tempting us to earn money illegally or by committing illegal sexual intercourse) and making FALSE PROMISES to us.” (17:64); that Shaytan
“commands INDECENCY, DISBELIEF, SHIRK, EVIL and WICKED DEEDS and to speak or do what ALLAH has forbidden” (24:21); MISLEADS us, arouses in us FALSE DESIRES and promises nothing but DECEPTION.” (4:118-120); he “makes your EVIL
deeds seem FAIR.” (make WRONG seem RIGHT) (6:43) and he “THREATENS YOU WITH POVERTY” (2:268). Therefore, he warns us not to “let SHAYTAN seduce us or STRIP US of your protective cover, as he did our parents in the Garden” (7:27); Further, he states we should know that “INTOXICANTS and GAMBLING . . . are an abomination of Shaytan’s handiwork. So (he warns us to) avoid strictly all that in order that we may be successful.” (5:90)

i am your sister from Yemen, and by Allah I only spoke out of hunger and distress. My mother, my brothers, and I lessons and tears. We are in a situation that only God knows about. God is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs for those who brought us to this situation. By Allah Almighty, I did not write this appeal out of distress and distress. Poverty, O world, they have felt it So, I hope for you. By Allah Almighty, Lord of the Great Throne, he ate what I had in the house. By Allah, my brothers, he is my brothers by sitting in the house. Who has no food? By God, we are in a very difficult situation. We have 4 people entering the house, and my father has died, and there is no one who can depend on us and who lives in it.We live in a rented house because we cannot pay the rent we owe. '''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' ''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' ''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' ''''''''''''' My brother, my first words are: I swear to God that I will not lie to you or deceive you. I am a Yemeni girl displaced from the war. My family and I live in a rented house in Al-Shahrab 20,000 Yemenis among us, and now we owe 60,000 for 3 months. The owner of the house is one of the people who does not have mercy, by God, my brother. He comes every day, insulting us, talking about us, and moving from the house to the street because we were unable to pay him the rent. The neighbors saw us crying and came back. They came back to talk to the neighbors and we were given the weekend. So we made him swear by God. He will take us out into the street. Have mercy on him and us. Our country is due to this war and we do not find food for our day, and my brothers and I live in a difficult life. Our father died, may God have mercy on him, and we have no one in this world who was with us in these harsh circumstances. My younger brothers went out into the street and saw...The neighbors eat and stand at their door in order to give them bread even if they break it. By God, to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, they closed the door and expelled them and came back crying. They are dying of hunger. No one has mercy on them and a holiday is returned. I have made a living, and now if one of us helps us with a kilo of flour, I swear to God, I am dying of hunger. My brother, I am an alien to God. Then, I ask you to help me for the sake of God. I ask you, by God, to love goodness and to help me, even if you can, by messaging me on WhatsApp.On this number 00967716649494 and ask for the name of my card and send it and do not be late and may God reward you with all the best, my brothers Sagar, see how they are and help us and save us before they throw us out in the street, you will be lost or we will die of hunger. My family and I ask you, by God, if you are able to help us, do not be late and may God reward you well..`/--~«««~~♡~♡~♡~~•~•~♡~♡~~♡~♡~♡~♡♡♡~~~: ~:~¡~¡~¡~;I.i.i.i.i.i. i.I.|-◖︻︻}،!,;:¡,;:¡,;:¡,;:¡,;:¡,;:¡,;:¡,;:¡,;:¡,;:¡,;:¡,;:¡,;:¡,;:¡,;:¡,;:¡,;:¡,;:¡,;:¡,;:¡,;:¡😢😢😢🎉

I disagree with some of the stance you took with celebrating some of the non-Muslim holidays. Anas Ibn Maalik reported that "When the Prophet reached Madina, he noticed that the people of Madina used to celebrate two specific days. The Prophet asked them" "Why are you celebrating these two days?" They answered, "We used to play and have fun on these days during the pre-Islamic period." The Prophet said: "ALLAH HAS REPLACED THESE TWO DAYS WITH SOMETHING BETTER, 'Id ul-Fitr and 'Id ul-Adha." [Ahmad, An-Nasaa'ee and Abu Dawood]
Most of the "holidays" that the non-Muslim celebrates have roots in Paganism or falsehood, whether we know it or not! New Year's Day is rooted in the worship of the two-headed pagan god Janusas well as the celebration of the WINTER SOLISTICE.
COLUMBUS DAY is based on a lie because Christopher Columbus did NOT discover America - he began the movement to EXPLOIT and EXTERMINATE the native people of the Ameicas. So many other dayshonor people - not on the day they were born but on the closest Monday so that people can have a DAY WEEKEND!
Celebrating someone's BIRTHDAY, honoring your MOTHER, FATHER, VETERAN'S, etc. on only one day of the year is not from our SUNNA. We should honor them throughout the year and, as you said, it has become a tool of CAPITALIST AMERICA to get people to spend their hard earned money on these particular days -
THANKSGIVING is a celebration of the annihilation of a people whose land they stole and every time they killed a group of people, they had a day of Thanksgiving, believing it was a sign from the Creator they were destined to have the land! They gave the Native People smallpox (i.e. "cowpox") they contracted from sleeping in the same stables as the cows and goats! Please read the book "Lies My Teacher Told Me" by James W. Loewen and you will find they destroyed about 400 people at a time and fried them in the fire.
The history of the Pilgrims and the Native American people is so distorted with untruths that the first thing we need to do is sort out the truth about these people.
First of all, the true history of the Native People has never been told!
The turkey represents the 77 million Native People they killed, they decapitated the heads of the males and would kick their heads around town for sport (which is where football ties in). The stuffing represents the millions of innocent babies they ripped out of their mothers' wombs, then threw them against the walls, hung, clubbed or smashed them apart.
The cranberry sauce represents the blood of the Natives and the glaze in their eyes as they lost their lives. Know that the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, made it clear the Muslim has but 2 holidays - 'Id-ul-Fitr and 'Id-ul-Adha, each of which come after the completion of a pillar in Islam (fasting or hajj). He also said "he who imitates a people, is of them!"
As for Black History Month, it is the ONLY thing I can endorse as it is not a real holiday but a time to reflect on the overlooked achievement and accomplishents of a people often ignored. Even KWANZA, despite its focus on 7 concrete principles one can utilize in their lives, ignores the Islamic roots of many of its words - like NIA, which comes from the word "NIYAT" meaning "intention or purpose" and IMANI, which comes from the word "IMAN", which intitially spoke about believing with all our hearts in THE CREATOR, our LEADERS, PARENTS, TEACHERS and our PEOPLE and the rRIGHTEOUSNESS and VICTORY of our struggle, has subsequently REMOVED ANY MENTION OF THE CREATOR! How can you speak about 'IMAN" (or 'IMANI") without starting with THE BELIEF IN THE CREATOR?

There are religious celebrations like Eid. Can we then look to recognise, mark & celebrate historical events etc? Certain days like Christmas, Halloween, Valentine's, etc are more clearly serious as they pull to the faith. Days like mothers day, Pink day etc is raising awareness and appreciation. So each needs to be looked at in its own right?

AsSalaamu alaykum💫 To celebrate the 4th of July is equivalent to celebrating oppression.
The U.S gained its wealth and independence from Great Britain through the brutal crimes committed against the Native American and enslaved African.
The U.S was NOT established through fair justice, great ideas, balance of religion and true equality. No! It was established through VIOLENCE of the highest order.
So, to celebrate it IS TO SAY that “I agree with, conform to and celebrate the accomplishments of Great Oppressor’s, while caring LESS for those that gave their homes, families and lives for that “HOLIDAY” to come forward and be recognized.
Remember, the enslaved were being sold on the White House lawn as the first celebration commenced.
Allah is on the side of the oppressed, not the oppressor.
The FIRE that they brought to this land is still burning, and they celebrate it with fire: Fireworks. And every year people lose their lives or limbs playing with that fire (fireworks). Keep your children away from the fire.
✨ May Allah guide us all to what is right, just and good. Aameeen💫

    • @ujimajame4601
      @ujimajame4601 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

A baptism is a religious ritual which, according to the people of the land where Yahya (John the Baptist), alayhi was salaam, was buried, is a MISINTERPRETATION of him instructing ISA ibn MARYAM, alayhi was salaam, to have his followers take GHUSL or WUDU before they take SHAHADA and not the dunking donuts ritual we are familiar with today! Therefore, we should not participate in it or witness it!

Salam Akhi, I think as long as you don’t do anything that compromises the tauheed (belief in one God, no partners, Muhammad (SAW) is the messenger). I’m assuming this is for a family member, and if that’s the case I think it might be okay since we believe so heavily in maintaining the ties of kinship. Just be very conscious of your intentions and the state of your heart akh

As a former Christian a baptism is a christian holy ritual to cleanse the child or adult from sins. A direct contradiction to our Islamic beliefs. For that reason i now respectfully decline such events from my non-muslim family
