I commented on this in your other video as a matter of fact about Foreman. Before we even had an idea to sign him, I was always a huge fan of his style. For the same reasons you already listed. He's going to be huge filling in until Chubb gets back, he's going to be a huge help to ease him back into game shape. And it's going to be one hell of a one two punch when Chubb is healthy.
I know this is 2 months old now but I'm fairly new to your channel. When I first saw the title I was thinking this guy is nuts. But it made perfect sense a couple minutes into the video and I feel stupid for not thinking it myself. You're 100% correct, his trade value will never be higher than it was this year. I don't mind that we kept him but it did makes sense
I couldn't agree with you more. I thought that Ford was gonna get over that hesitation and not running that hard, but other than a couple of games he's very frustrating. Not only does Foreman make a decision and then run downhill hard, but he's a great receiver also.
If you take away the two 69 yard runs against Pitt and Indy, Ford averaged 3.3 yards per carry. No question I'd rather have Foreman as our feature back.
You're right but Jerome Ford is going to be a beast under the new kickoff rules. he excelled at wide zone one cut runs and I like him a lot better as a third down back than the other options. this draft doesn't have a lot of value in the late rounds but could definitely be useful in trading up. Foreman is 100% rb1 until Chubb's healthy
Definitely true, but they also resigned Proche and Nyheim Hines returns kicks as well - I’d definitely like to see him back there though, thanks for watching!
Completely agree, some people are vouching to keep Ford and develop him but he doesn't have enough brain or talent to be a future reglar starter for us. I'm sory if it sounds mean but it's the truth and i've said it throughout all of last season
RBs that can't pass block are a liability and cannot be every down backs. At least not in the NFL because it's a passing league. It's no different then O-Linemen that can only run block and struggle pass blocking, the NFL has no use for them. If he can't even benefit the team on Special Teams then he's probably going to get cut as soon as Chubb returns from injury. So it seems like he is just a security blanket until then. Ford isn't going anywhere because he's still on his rookie deal, he's still productive, and there is no reason to trade him for peanuts to gamble replacing him with a RB that can't do the things the staff knows Ford can.
Ford is a very good third down back. He has above average receiving skills, and is a very good pass blocker as well. It would be a bad move to trade a back who is this useful for what, a 5th or 6th round pick? No, you wouldn't find someone as a replacement who has the current value that Ford has for this team right now. IMHO
Above average receiving skills? Idk about that, he ran a good sluggo week 3 against the titans but other than that it’s a lot of swings and screens. Nyheim Hines on the other hand actually runs the route tree. My rationale is that he isnt as good of a receiver as Hines and not as good of a pure runner as Foreman. And also, a 5th or 6th round pick can turn into a significant role player or be used in a trade package. I see more value in giving AB tools to work with than keeping an average player who won’t be resigned. But I appreciate your pov
For what? A 6th in one of the most shallow draft classes ever? Ford isnt a feature back. But he blows D'Onta Foreman out of the water in use as a third down back. Very explosive. And great as a reciever. Hes just not a consistent 3-5 yard runner and shouldn't be used in that way. Which is why we got foreman who is that. People have gone too far with thos Ford stuff
Rb Ford had 1or 2 runs that boost his yardage for the game. If it wasn't for that he wouldn't have all those yards. And it's average would be well in the toilet. Keep until Nick Chubb gets back. Then he's gone.
I disagree, I think we all over estimate what an average running back looks like. Ford doesn’t do any one thing special that couldn’t be replaced in free agency
JOEY, I'M PRETTY SURE NICK WON'T BE ABLE TO RUN WITH A LOAD UNTIL THE 13TH OR THE PLAYOFFS THAT'S THE REASONING BEHIND OBTAINING A POWER RUNNING BACK AND FORD AIN'T GOING ANYWHERE LOOKY HEAR ! OUR PASSING GAME, WITH DW4 THAT KIND OF BACK FIELD WILL BE JUST FINE BBBBBOOOOOMMMM GO DAWGS RIP AND TEAR U DIG?
This content is week and stop with the whole two runs made his season he had 800 yards 2 runs doesn't make that and by the way all backs are helped by long runs thats how it works no back just gets 5 yards a carry without long runs if they could why ever pass the ball you can just run it all the way down the field and kill clock. Ford gave you 1200 yards of offense coming off of an injury. All that Flacco love and he was a turnover machine. Stop hating on Ford because hes not Chubb not many backs are.
I never once made any comment about his averages being inflated by two runs - I said he had a good season overall and his value will never be higher so move him now

Don't completely agree with trading Ford yet, but on a better note I easily found one of my new favorite Browns Content Creators!
Thanks so much man, appreciate that!
Great video!
what would you know about quality?

If you just take away the Indy one he's under 4 ypc. If you take away any RBs longest run and they are under 4 ypc, they aren't getting it done. lol
Appreciate the insight, thank you
Thank you for watching!

Can't agree with that yet, give the KID a chance
Ford is on a 5th rd rookie deal, that has some value for cap mgmt
