I actually cried listening to this song. I had a bird once. Budgies actually, the girl was brave and the boy was weak. The girl always bites him whenever he eats. Whenever I come closer the girl always goes near, and the boy would back away because he’s scared. Then Something happened. There was something that knocked over their cage and the girl escaped. I was crying so hard because we couldn’t get her out of a high tree. We tried everything to get her out and she flew away. The boy got closer to us and being so brave to come closer to us. but still is depressed. Now I know why she stops him from eating a lot because he was stress eating, he’s always nervous and she’s there to comfort him. The girl wanted him to come but he was too scared. Now that she’s gone, he’s been depressed everyday. Then one day. He died😭 him laying on the cage, it looks like he was finally free..

this song is like that one person who tries to protect everyone and tries hard to make everyone feel happy/included even if its tiring to do, and feel like its their burden to make everyone happy, and the one person who distances themselves from everyone naturally even if they want to have friends because they feel like they are undeserving, not genuine or something, then finds friends when they are lonely, but repeats the cycle all the time
I feel kind of like both of them, i try to make everyone happy and included but slowly distance myself from everyone impulsively for a few months trying to observe from afar, and i think it probably doesn't affect anyone, then try making friends the next few. like in and out of being social because both statuses are so tiring

This song reminds me of 2010 for no particular reason. I was only 3 years old in 2010, and it may be because this song came out in like 2009, but this reminds me of my early childhood. I don't feel a connection to the lyrics, but to the strong childlike vibes this song gives off. It resonates with me in that way, and it makes me really want to go back to when I was a toddler. This song to me, is the embodiment of growing up. Your parents stop tucking you in at night, you don't get to be held like you used to be, and you're forced to let go of a more innocent version of yourself you'll never get back.

They never told me they were moving schools in the first grade, it felt like a normal day until she wasn't there,never came again. It really hit different when the song said "They will never let go of that wire, but he's just a liar" (something like that) but without the liar part, I still remember the pain I felt without having a friend for years..

This song just hits differently to me. I don't know why, it just does. It makes me somewhat comforted, yet always making me feel as if I'm hunted by the former friends who now hate me instead of consider me as family as I do them. It's nice. :)

i understand you. i have this friend, met her on 7th grade and we became inseparable. we were best friends, but on 8th grade something happened. we were on a friend group and i had problems with them and left because i kept getting excluded. not her, though. she always was the twilight zone. so she stayed friends with them and she forgot about me, instead she hung out with them always.
not only that, but other guy who used to be my best friend as well met her on 8th grade and they became best friends, forgetting about me.
to make it short: she made new friends and now we're drifting apart. she says she misses the old days, but she doesn't do anything to fix this. i always tried to keep us together but i eventually gave up because it wasn't reciprocated - i have to accept that she has other friends and she isn't interested in me anymore. still, it hurts because i don't have many friends and this friendship was gold for me. we understood each other and we had similar tastes. we were an inseparable duo.
i may or may not be mad at her and her friends because at some point they were all my friends but they forgot about me the moment she came; i did everything for them even if i had to do unpleasant things, and this is what i get? but well, there's nothing i can do, so yeah

This song reminds me of my first friend. She was incredibly pretty, and her name was Violet, but they go by Alex now, from what I’ve heard. On my first day of school, I saw her in line in the hall. She asked me if I wanted to be her friend, and I told her I’d think about it. At lunch, her dad forgot to put the food in her backpack, so I shared my lunch with her. After that, we became the closest friends. Sadly, In 3rd grade, she said she was moving, and I didn’t think it would be that much of an issue, since she said I could always visit her. It’s been years since I’ve seen them, and the only way I can reach out to her is through online messaging, but I’ve always been nervous as to if she wants to talk to me. I had an online friend a while back. For reasons related to other people in our friend group being very detrimental to my mental health we grew apart. I never blamed her and if I were to keep in contact with any of them, it would be her. But it is too late now because our form of contact is gone. I hope she is in a better mental state now. Our relationship wasn't completely healthy, but I grew from it, and I miss her sometimes. I told her a few times that I would never stop being her friend, no matter what, even if we didn't talk to each other for years. This song reminds me of her. She left the group first, and I am happy both of us are out of that situation now. I hope life is good for you Kiwi, and that the sky is better than the wire. I hope you know I wasn't lying, I am still your friend and I am still praying for you.
I had a friend, we always talked, both at school, at home, and we always played games together. When we started high school, each went to a different high school.
