I know that feeling, especially if I'm writing a book that's too long. I'm drained while new ideas are flooding me that I just want to quit the current project. But I have to plough through so I can actually finish it. Happens all the time. You got so many projects. Hope you get to the finishing stages of Project DE by next year.
I love this video idea and how interesting it actually was without giving up too much of their content. I would absolutely love such a video in the future. Meanwhile my ideas are all scattered through the notes app and everywhere else, I should make a list cause i do tend to forget my thirty something ideas xdd
You should try making a list! It’s such a convenient reminder! I enjoy this format of video because I get to share what I’m working on without revealing much of anything at all :)
Good morning, Sara and happy Tuesday! You are beautiful in your videos and if no one tells you today. Have a wonderful day at work or writing. God Bless!
I love videos like this, I find them very inspiring. Congratulations on all the progress and for being a well of all these ideas! I tried making a list of books I'd written, my WIP and also books I wanted to write and it was very satisfying to look at - though not as long as yours!
I have so many project ideas that if I tried to list them out I’d need multiple sheets of paper 😂😂 currently working on my third novel right now and I’m liking it
Last time I watched this kind of video, I made my list alongside, so I am about to redo the list I made earlier in line with this one. I steal many of your ideas. This month, I realised that I have to get a move on with the backlog of unfinished work I have, as it is blocking me from pursuing other ideas. I find what you say about incorporating part of a story into another one very useful, as that solves a problem I have been having with two ideas which are too similar. A great video, and the very best of luck to you in finishing this list!
Since I never seemed to finish projects I'd started in my early Twenties I stopped writing more than one story at the same time. That works pretty good for me so far but I also have tons of projects and new ideas keep coming :D Some of what I wrote are Short Stories that I might put into one book. One of the books I wrote is a MG Fantasy. It's definitely going to be a series :) I find writing for children pretty hard because of the tone and the dialogue that needs to fit into a certain age. Stories for adults just flow and I don't need to think as much about it. I really like the idea of tracking projects and seeing how things change over time, so keep those tracking videos coming :) I'm wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New and creative Year! Sending love
I recently lost a lot of my writing and I’ve been having ups and downs of being super inspired to take writing more seriously or just feeling numb and that my stories, while I appreciate them, will only remain in my head and my imagination. I’ve been writing lists and outlines to keep myself organised and to remind myself how badly I want to write! It’s so hard, maybe I’ll never be a published author, but I’ll always be a writer. Sorry for the rant, but watching this video helped me so so much. Thank you💗
It sounds like you may be feeling exhausted by something or not in the right space right now, and that's okay! If you publish at some point, great! If you don't, that's also great! The getting to be creative part is what is the most important :) I hope you start feeling better!
Girl I was literally just thinking about this the other day!! I know I'm very late to the party, lol, but I love that you revamped this! I loved hearing about the stories that made the cut from the last video and the new stories you've added! I can't wait to hear more about them as the year goes on ♥️
Hey Sara! I know you're eyes deep on draft 6 of Project DE, but you talking about "The Veil Project" at 9:00 really caught my attention and I wanted to share my thoughts...but I don't want to taint your creative process! Firstly, what are your thoughts on consuming literature/ideas related to your story concepts? Do you view it as inspiration, or do you fear plagiarism? I only ask because there's a fairly large IP with a related concept, and if you would LIKE, I could link the stories around it. No worries if not! Thanks for your inspiration.
Would love to hear what you think may be similar! I have some ideas around it currently but it’s good to know what’s out there because the idea in my head has already been mostly formed :)
Wow😃 this is a great idea for tracking the progress of projects. I'm definitely going to try it ☺️ thank you 💕 Sorry for my English, my native languages are russian and ukrainian)
Five books is good! It's like having five friends around to talk to, and with each of them you're able to have a unique conversation. This is valuable right now because you'll stay occupied this winter, which keeps your brain from getting freezer burn. Fifteen, on the other hand, is too much. Bear in mind you just settled into Utah and a full-blown party in your apartment wouldn't vibe because out of your fifteen stories, one of them is going to be that asshole who steals your CD player or poops in your bathtub. Likewise, updating us every 6-12 months will depend on your energy levels going into summer 2022. If your only updates in the short term are around Project DE, I think most of us will understand.
Veil is a good title. I wrote the first drafts of a trilogy that I call the Veil Trilogy. I worked Veil into each of the individual books. Since then that entire series is in massive revision. Side note, are some of these projects just a novel or series?
Thanks! That’s so cool! As I mentioned at the end of the video, a few of them are stand alones, a few of the ones in progress I would like to be series
@@SaraLubratt Awesome! I'm just beginning the query process for the first novel in a sci-fi series I'm writing. I'm also very interested in fantasy and would love to talk more to see if we'd be a good fit as critique partners if you're ever interested!
@@SaraLubratt I'm actually taking a little break from Insta because I was getting too distracted! The scrolling is real sometimes haha. Is there another platform we can use?
@@madisonthompson1 Instagram is the main platform I use other than TH-cam, but I really respect the break from it, I think that's incredibly healthy. Do you just want to send me a message when you decide to go back to it? Or maybe like facebook messenger?
I was incredibly impressed with my NaNo and camp NaNo experiences this year! But if you struggle with word count, it may be helpful to figure out what in your story could be more fleshed out, setting, world building, dialogue, pacing, characters, subplots, etc. Good luck and happy writing!
@@SaraLubratt thank you. Actually, the reading I've been doing is helping me fill in words. When I was a kid I had the HORRIBLE habit of only reading the dialogue and so I didn't know much about description and stuff
