  • Detailed LilySilk size guide video • New LilySilk Buys & Si...
    Finally posting this review! I purchased all of these pieces across a few orders, but I've had most of them for 2 years. I first show everything I currently own, and what I would I would still recommend.
    There was a lot of information to cover in this video! I'm sorry if I'm not clear, if I misspeak, or if I talk way too long about one topic. Seriously, I didn't know I had so much to say about a pillowcase until editing... 🙈😅
    LilySilk is coming out with A LOT of new product, and I would skip most of it. I have an hourglass frame, and many of their dresses and skirts don't seem to be made for my body type. They do simple, boxy styles very well. This works for a simple cami or shirt, but not so well for their more complex designs. I hope the information I share helps you find great, reliable pieces to wear for years to come!
    - TLDW -
    V Neck Front and Back Silk Camisole - Love
    V-Neck Sleeveless Silk Tank Top - Love but not perfect
    Basic Concealed Placket Silk Shirt - Love
    For All Occasions in Silk Cami Dress - Pass. Thin material that wrinkles easily. Feels cheap.
    22 Momme Long & Close Fitting Silk Nightgown - LOVE & want another.
    Elegant Silk V-Neck wrap Dress - The yellow dress. I wore this working from home a lot during the pandemic, but there is not enough overlap in the wrap to be comfortable going outside. Slips underneath cling to the fabric and bunch up.
    Figure Flattering Silk Wrap Dress - The red dress I gave away. I don't recommend.
    19 Momme Terse Envelope Silk Pillowcase - Excellent price for a good product. Recommend using the dryer at least once, and it will be much softer. They are not as soft or as thick as more expensive pillowcases. I use product in my hair, and I don't like the idea of that sitting on my pillowcase for too long. That's why I change out my pillowcase so frequently, and this is a more economical choice while still being a good product.

    I love this nonsponsored review!!! ❤️Everything I see about certain brands are just sponsored ads. It can be so hard to find actual honest reviews.
    Whenever I make a large purchase (expensive non luxury stuff), I call/text customer service and ask if there’s any discounts available. This almost ALWAYS gets me 10-20% off. I was thinking of buying a bag from one of these heavily YT sponsored brands. They gift SO MANY bags to influencers, like heaps and heaps, but when I asked if they had any codes they were like, No we don’t do codes because we already give you the best price. 🙄 it’s super annoying, because we all know how these brands work. Ok rant over. 😆😆

    • @traingirl.meghan
      @traingirl.meghan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks Lula!! Oooh I wonder if I can guess the bag brand 😅A few come to mind! I've also noticed if you add items to cart, but leave it for a day, many brands will email you at least 10% off the order. LilySilk sent me 12% off once for this, but they always have 12%-15% off codes floating around.

      @@traingirl.meghan ooh yes that’s another good trick!
      It’s been well established that shoppers don’t want “everyday low pricing” and shipping fees are another surefire sales killer. The psychology of shopping has been studied so much and the manipulative tricks retailers can do to increase sales are pretty well known, so it’s interesting to me when brands take different approaches.

    This was such a great video! I appreciate how in-depth you got, and the mod shots are super helpful. I have been interested in lilysilk (I did buy a pillowcase several years ago) off and on. I probably still won't buy because all their clothing is too low cut for me 😅 but this is such a good video about their pieces (and quality)! And really nice to know about the dryer thing.
    (also, I don't wash my jeans every day either; you're actually not supposed to! everything I've ever seen from people super into denim go into detail about how you're not supposed to wash jeans unless they get DIRTY. So go us 😆)

      I'm actually fascinated to see what direction LilySilk takes with marketing. I've noticed they've been doing celebrity content and working with the Big influencers recently. Even with fewer discounts being available, there are pieces I plan to buy eventually.

    Thank you for this honest and NONSPONSORED review! :) I am new to silk and I've bought a Lilysilk Pillowcase and I want to ask: Is it normal that it's soft only in like one direction (non a 4-way smothness kind of when you move your face on the pillow up-down VS. right to left? I don't know how else to describe it >

    • @traingirl.meghan
      @traingirl.meghan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know what you mean! 😊That's consistent with my experience with LilySilk pillowcases. They softened up in all directions after washing, but it's because of the fabric weave. It's normal for it to have a shiny side, again because of the weave. Not all LilySilk products have that same shine, but the pillowcases do. Hope this helps!

    • @traingirl.meghan
      @traingirl.meghan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for sharing this experience! That is really strange. Natural fibers can sometimes bleed dye before the first wash. LilySilk may use a quick, cheap dyeing process or it just may be heavily saturated. It's hard to know for sure. I hope they get back to you with a helpful response!

    Thanks so much for this video! One question about the "22 Momme Long & Close Fitting Silk Nightgown" -- I noticed that this one does not have any bust darts, but the "For All Occasions in Silk Cami Dress" does. Do you still find that the Nightgown fit well in the chest area? That's the main reason why I keep getting drawn to the For All Occasions dress! For the slip dresses, did you go with a small or a medium?

    • @traingirl.meghan
      @traingirl.meghan  ปีที่แล้ว

      Personally I love the nightgown best. It doesn't have darts, but it's cut to give more room in the chest. I wear it significantly more than the For All Occasions Cami Dress. This might just be my shape, but I find the Cami Dress to be more fitted in the chest despite the darts. I prefer the neckline on the nightgown.
      The nightgown flows in a very flattering way to show my figure without being too clingy. I wear a medium. Hope this helps!

    • @traingirl.meghan

      Very true, ideally they shouldn't if you want them to last as long as possible! 😊Typically I air dry them completely, but I sometimes tumble dry them in laundry bags with the lowest heat if I'm very busy. Also, natural fibers are the most fragile when soaking wet. Sometimes I air dry so it's nearly dry , and then finish in the dryer on the lowest heat. These pieces aren't as delicate as other silk things on the market I've seen, so they hold up well.
