Hello Craig & Nicole! Great day out even with the noise. I have 4 children so the noise didn’t even bother me! Loved all the beautiful colors of the sea glass. Can say the pink was my favorite. Thanks for a beautiful day out. ♥️
Thanks so much Sissi! It's such a lovely place to visit, lots of little shops further down towards the newer bridges, with restaurants and ice cream - always a hot spot to sit and look at the bridges, very popular! The pink glass was such an amazing huge piece! x
I actually love trains and bridges. I hope to go to South Queensferry when we take our vacation. What a magnificent spot! My favorite pieces of today’s video were the poison bottle piece and the peach one. So beautiful!
Thanks so much !! It's a great place to go and there are restaurants where you can sit outside and watch the trains and look out over the Firth of Forth :) Those two pieces were amazing!
Craig was spot on; my eyes were everywhere seeing beautiful pieces of glass. I loved that long oblong piece that Craig found but didn’t take! I could see it with a sinuous creeper of silver snaking down it. I live by the beach, but absolutely no sea glass or pottery 😢. To me it was like being a kid in a sweet shop!
We was going out to the beach this Easter but me and my husband came down with COVID and I feel so ill and sick as a dog your lovely glass video cheered me up and reminded me that I can go another day blessed Easter to you both
With all that noise must be your presence on the beach - even the CROW CLUX CLAN knew you were there ! Great find the pink glass, mini jackpot ! Noticed before you reach the middle of the Forth train bridge the structure is like the viaduct that used to exist near to where I live(called the Walnut Tree Viaduct) - 1.30m. Further into the video was a milky glass object - looked like a Random sweet ! LEGO pieces still being found years later - few stories ! Very productive day and a good demo !
Hello!! So sorry for the tardy replies... Many thanks - it was a good, if wee bit noisy day! Such a busy wee spot - used to be a treat to come here for ice cream when I was a kid! Ah!! Those pillars - or are they called pontoons? But yes! They really look like the same design... Just saw there is some old footage of that viaduct online - cool! Oh! Beach sweets! lol Dropped by a passing seagull! :D Thank you so much, our best wishes, Nicole & Craig xo
@@scottishmudlarking think you were doing work with your house(important to you) - one I got to comment on ...... the moon one day traveling on the M4 was a orange peach, further north it was like a blood red..
Hi Nicole and Craig, The sea glass is gorgeous! I really love the tiny pieces. That's why I'm still so happy with my necklace with all the tiny pieces of seaglass. I wish you both a blessed Easter. Have a lovely week. Big hug and lots of love, xoxo ❤️, Ilona
I would need a wagon to carry all the sea glass I would think is perfect. Your explanation of how you classify the quantities of jewelry quality is very insightful.
I used to live near McChord Air Force Base, and then later under the flight path at Sea Tac Airport. Jets and planes are LOUD, but you get used to it and background noise, like traffic, really doesn't bother me. But it's probably louder and more distracting for you both, so we appreciate this video even more! Happy Easter! :-)
Hello Nicole, hello Craig. It's been a fantastic day of Mudlarking. I would be hard spent to decide whether or not to take this piece of sea glass or that. I'm afraid I would be weighed down with all the beauty. I did especially like the peach and green pieces. Greetings from the U.S.A.
Thanks so much Peggy! Oh we tend to leave lots of pieces behind for others to find, but it was very tempting to take more than we need at this place :) x
So happy that you went back to this beach! So many treasures, and a rainbow 🌈 of colors! Nicole, I loved your explanation of the types of sea glass! At 21:55 you found a tiny cream-colored round object, that you said was probably a “collar stud” or something connected to a button. I found one exactly like this on the shores of Maine, and had no idea of what it was! Thank you for explaining! And thank you for a wonderful adventure! Sea glass is still my favorite! Take care! 🙏❤️
Thanks ever so much Ruth! So happy to hear you enjoyed the explanation of jewellery and craft quality sea glass and the mystery of the collar stud !! x
Thanks so much Terryl :) I was so surprised that the poison bottle piece was so well frosted, seeing it's so thin compared to other pieces we found! It is really lovely and bright green !
You both inspired me to head to my coastline five hours away. But the winds and bitter rain was not conducive to larking. So it came to tea and sandwiches watching the ocean from our room. Went antique shopping instead but found nothing. Maybe the end of next month I will try again. Thanks for taking us along. Happy Easter 🐣
Thanks so much Jeriann! Oh that's a very long drive to get to the beach!!! Maybe it'll be better in the summer -hope you find some sea glass then :) Happy Easter! x
Thanks so much! Brown is not very popular in jewellery but it looks stunning against the sun - like amber or gold sometimes :) The poison bottle piece is so smooth , quite unusal for such a thin piece !
Thank you , lovely video :) I always collect beach glass on the island where we live, each piece it's own loveliness. May I ask what kind of drill you use to make holes in the pieces? I haven't been able to find a good method myself. Thank you.
Thanks so much ! Check out our video on how to drill sea glass ( the one with the marble on it ) it has lots of tips and tricks to help you get started with drilling ! Enjoy!
Very informative video. Loving the variety of glass that you found. As a novice why were you not so keen on the piece of glass that had a non frosted edge? Does it really make a difference. Many thanks
Thanks so much Peter! We are very picky as we are making jewellery with the sea glass, but if you are collecting for yourself, every piece is special and you can keep your finds in jars and they look amazing - with or without perfectly frosted edges! :)
PS , plastic like amber would feel warm when placed against the cheek , whilst seaglass always feels cold , amber like plastic also floats , Baltic Amber is now being found on the beaches of SW England and comes in many colours of Cherry Red , Cognac Brown , Butterscotch and Champagne Yellow and Olive Green Colours , so watch out for that folks , Butterscotch is the rarest 😊
The sea foam and pirate glass pieces were only made until the 30s and then it's the thickness of the glass. Compare your finds to modern broken glass - Codd bottle pieces are 1cm thick, modern glass is only 1/10 of that :)
I think if you would not have mentioned the train or the bike, or anything about the background noise, I probably would not have even noticed. It became more annoying that you kept talking about the noises then the actual noises themselves. I have enjoyed videos in the past but I think you kind of spend too much time talking about each piece. It becomes a little tedious. Not trying to be rude in anyway. I hope it doesn’t come off that way because it is not my intention. Just giving constructive criticism. Take it or leave it but I like watching you guys so I figured it best to be truthful.
Thanks Lindsay! I was difficult to edit around audible parts of other peoples conversation - the trains don't bother us either.... Glad you enjoyed the video overall!
Don’t let the noise keep you away! Nice video but I saw several blue and red bits you missed.
Thanks so much Tina :) We saw those in the edit... but never at the beach!!
I am now schooled in the beautiful subtleties of the gem known as ‘sea glass’.
I walk away,a wiser man.
Thanks so much Charles :) So glad you enjoyed what I look for in sea glass for jewellery! So kind of you to say !

Hola It's been almost 2 years since your last trip to Queen Ferry The last time you met Gail and her daughter from Northeren Mudlarking!
Yes two years since we've been :) Everytime we cross the bridge I look down and see myself wondering along the beach ....
So pleasing to watch. Thank You
So kind of you :)
Hello there you two 😊 I, for one, didn't mind the noises. The green poison bottle pendant is fabulous ❤

Thanks 👍
Some of my favourite pieces of seaglass are brown. I don't know why people disparage it. The green ridged piece was also lovely.

Oh I absolutely love amber and especially Butterscotch and Cherry ! I found one piece of amber as a child on a beach in Denmark, a long time ago...
Is that a blue piece of plastic on the right side at 24:12, very near the Lego piece?
It probably was plastic Tina ( likely I picked it up !) :)
Do you make use of silver in your seaglass jewelry Nicole?
Thanks so much Hanneke! All of the pieces are set in sterling silver :)
oh I don't know how you didn't take everything!!!!!
Aww we leave lots behind for others, but take as much plastic as possible :) Thanks so much Donna !! x
