    Goody made a very thought out, introspective video about titan resolve nerf. Some people in the comment: "Mortdog such a manbaby, he lost a game and want to nerf shit...". Like come on? Do u guys even watch the vid?

    From a non-mechanical perspective, Titans is exciting as a player because we see the numbers go up, similar with the double guins bard, bigger number better carry, and they're visually easy to focus on and watch. I hope they don't nerf it directly into the ground that as an item it becomes a mechanically incorrect decision to build and as such have less opportunities to enjoy the simple visual aspect of the item. I think you're spot on about the idea that Set10 Riven was a menace with double titans if she didn't have to build QSS cause of things like Banshee's/Indom will. Could they not just take AP ratio's away from AD melee carries like Yone and make them not able to scale off such a highly statted item, and in turn maintain the idea of melee mages to still exist and benefit from the item? I'd like to think that having it scale on both power types, but units not being able to benefit from both stats means you can slam early, and then decide later if you want to melee AD carry with Kayn, or AP melee AP carry with Sylas.

      Yeah I agree, the novelty of items like Titans and Rageblade is what makes them so fun
      But they can't really take these AP ratios away from AD melee carries, these units absolutely need them to be able to survive in combat.
      If they were swapped to AD, then AD stacking becomes too good as well
      It's a really complicated issue but I hope they don't kill titans to fix it

      @@GoodyTFTwhy do AD melees need AP ratios but AP melees dont have or need AD ratios

    • @GoodyTFT
      @GoodyTFT  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@badralsaif1143 I think that's mostly due to how stacking AD is easier than AP
      With AD scaling off base AD, a 3 star unit can have monstrous AD as soon as combat begins (in the regions of 300-400 AD)
      On the other hand, AP units usually need time to scale through items like Crown guard or Archangel's. And it will be some time into combat before they hit in the regions of 300-400 AP
      So for AP units, they don't need AD ratios because AP is more scarce for them, and making them scale off only 1 stat helps them function and not be insanely weak
      Whereas AD carries can have a huge amount of AD instantly. If their survivability scaled off AD, they'd be unkillable.
      Making their survivability scale off AP is a preemptive nerf to stop melee AD carries also being the best tanks
      That's what I think at least

    Honestly they should make it unique for this set only nerf yone qp ratio to the ground. And think of ways to make melee carries more balanced next set to make titans not unique anymore.

  • @sergioalonso9273
    @sergioalonso9273 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Just make Titan's Unique item, I get the whole "not fun" argument cuz u can't braindead stack the same item and win for free but as Mortdog said multiple times, it's about finding the tipping point between being fun and being balanced, making it unique just means people will innovate and toy around more with the third item which gives more chances to shine to lesser slammed items like steraks

  • @jarshei3545
    @jarshei3545 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I think today's situation is actually caused by when riot starts to blur out identities of carftable items, where most items just feels like a "stat check" moment, take one of my favourite item for example, rfc could change how a champion interact with their ults. The good old zephyr and shroud can manipulate enemies positioning, sometimes create a mind game situation. Let's take a look at the replacement of rfc, the only likable part of red buff is now ad carry can finally have a burn item, while at the same time, they need to give AS to morello to stop everyone from only building red buff, same applies to the newer items as well, random AS, AP, AD, damage amp given to items, and finally, it just happens to be titans being the most abusive stat item.
    That being said, I am not against the changes, it is just a personal preference, and I think they are trying their best to keep the game fresh, my take would be bring back the uniqueness of craftable items and balance around that, when more ways are available to play around, it distributes strength to creates more comps/strats. Take a look at fine vintage zzrot, the game needs to have a lot more options like this to be fun to play with.

    • @GoodyTFT
      @GoodyTFT  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is a very true and interesting consequence of items becoming more homogenised.
      While they're arguably balanced, the uniqueness and fun aspects are gone
      Fine vintage is probably one of the most fun augments we've seen in a while because the support items are so unique

  • @thermicterror2951
    @thermicterror2951 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Titans has always been super strong. We've only noticed it now because like you said this set has exasperated the issue, but just because the set has exasperated it doesn't mean we should ignore the issue because it was "fine" in past sets. Titans is too strong of an item in it's current form when compared to other items, especially with gargantuan resolve as an augment and units like yone, voli, and gnar existing. Those units may benefit the most but almost every frontline unit that needs to deal damage wants at least one titans resolve. That's just not healthy

    • @GoodyTFT
      @GoodyTFT  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Exactly. As Mort says, the fact that melee carries always want titans over steraks is a problem

    I was saying for a while to make yone shield flat and not have it scale with ap, didnt expect them to do the opposite loool
    I’m not sure how I feel about this specific change yet BUT I’m happy with the design direction of keeping the item interesting in a specific way instead of just overall neutering the item and making nothing about it meaningful. Keep up the great vids ❤

  • @Alan-TFT
    @Alan-TFT 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    I still think titan's is really good on AD melee carries because their AP scales their survivability for them.
    Yone gains more shield
    Diana and Volibear gains more heal
    Compared to Kayn's AP and AD wraps into the ability damage
    Deathblade only gives 55AD, so I've always found it weird that Titan's gives 50 AD (after stacking) plus 50AP. I wouldn't say having to stack it justifies so many stats.
    I would be happy if titan's was for only for AD scaling and Archangels was for AP scaling.

    • @GoodyTFT
      @GoodyTFT  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      yeah there are more 3 costs that use titan's well than 4 costs
      i'm still torn as to what will be the solution for melee ap carries like sylas, maybe archangels or crownguard will be enough

    The answer to start is to ban stacking items. You shouldn't be able to stack 2x Guinsoo's, or 2x Titan's. You should only be able to equip one of each item, including the radiant versions. Make that change and see how things pan out.

    • @yaboirairai

    make it so only 1 of the titans resolve can stack up at a time, nerf the ratios by a tiny bit like 5 ad and 5 ap, this will already make people not want to stack it and go for other items, you dont have to kill an entire item mortdog

    Honestly, it’s a pretty fair item. Max stacks has more damage stats than other damage items, but it’s balanced by needing to scale it up. I think if anything, the resistances might be the issue. You shouldn’t be getting resistances AND damage on the item without that coming at a cost.
