    Normalizing 3d scene is such a creative solution. Especially when I had to deal with E3D layers, it was pain in the ass to match the objects position.
    I was like 'yeah I know 3D cam tracker' before clicking but no matter how I'm used to one effects, you always introduce new ideas and methods. Thankss!!

    Ive been wanting to do camera tracking for years but always fell flat. I hardly use AE but this worked better than any software I've used before. Cheers!

    I have a question, about "ground plane and origin". What if the video I took didn't record the "ground" part. Like filming a tall building with a drone, how to set the "ground plane and origin"?

    Very informative Jake....I do have a question? why are my Gizmo's extremely large sometimes and they cannot be used when they are this big? Very frustrating.

    hi! i got a little bit lost trying to comprehend what you were explaining at 16:15. If I wanted to use the box surface, could you possibly list the steps that you were referring to as necessary? I’m about to start work on a project where I’ll need to track something on the side of a box, so I don’t want to miss something important there. Sorry for taking your time, the video was very very helpful!

    • @JakeInMotion
      @JakeInMotion  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I wanted to precisely place something in front or on top of the box, I would have selected tracking points on the face of the box at the 9:00 mark in the video, right clicked and created a null object for that position. That would give me position and orientation data that would match the position and orientation of the box throughout the camera track. If you don't need the 3d data and are just trying to place something onto a surface, Mocha AE would allow you to do just that without any camera tracking.

    can you give an example using ELEMENT 3D +3d tracker?

    • @JakeInMotion
      @JakeInMotion  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a fun idea. Anything you make in Element 3D can be inserted into a 3D tracked scene.

    Does slowing down a clipo and then tracking makes the coloured square solid track wiggle? Cause it does for me. Please if you can give a solution for it. Many many thanks for what you do.

    hi. when i analize the video and it completes. i place the object, but if i want to place a new object and go back to the layer with the analized 3d camera. it will start to analize again. how do i get it to analize it only once. it keeps analizing the video everytime i leave the layer and click on it. i just want to click on the layer and have all the dots ready to place a new null or solid. thanks i would appreciate any information.

    What's the difference between using the 3D Tracker effect and the stand alone "Tracker" panel?

    • @JakeInMotion
      @JakeInMotion  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The standard tracker doesn't solve for 3d scenes or generate any 3d data. It's also much slower and really should be avoided and instead be replaced by Mocha AE, which is a full standalone application that comes with AE for planer tracking.

    • @JoshuaSigmund
      @JoshuaSigmund 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JakeInMotion I confused myself so I just opened up AE to see if I was crazy or not. It appears that the "Track Camera" button under the "Tracker" panel is the same as the "3D Camera Tracker" effect under "Effects/Perspective", correct? (Similarly, the "Warp Stabilizer" button under the "Tracker" panel is the same as the "Warp Stabilizer" effect under "Effects/Distort", right?) So what you say should be avoided/replaced by Mocha AE (can't wait for that tut btw!) is the "Track Motion" button under the "Tracker" panel that doesn't track 3D (or just accessing any of these effects through the Tracker panel completely)?

    • @JakeInMotion

      Yes, you've got it!

    • @nebulaahh4740

      @@JakeInMotion so when should we use mocha and when should we use this technique? Are there certain cases that one is better than the other?

    • @JakeInMotion
      @JakeInMotion  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you need to put 3d objects into a scene, you'll need 3d tracked data to do it. The 3d camera tracker is the way to do that. If you just need to place something on a surface, or replace something on a screen, planar tracking is all you'll need. Mocha AE is a fantastic planar tracker.

    Is it possible to extend the length of a scene after the camera has been solved and then create new keyframes for the added frames? I did a 3D track for a client with multiple elements and their feedback was that they wanted the shot to last longer and now I have no idea how to do that. There is more to the shot of course, it's a drone shot, but once I extend the shot there is no more 3D data for me to use so that my elements stay in place. What would be the best solution for this?
