- Fall Out Boy have begun teasing their upcoming eighth album with a newspaper advert in the Chicago Tribune. So, let's look back on what we have learned about the band's new music plans, featuring clips from our interviews with Pete Wentz and Joe Trohman, reflections on the 'MANIA' era and what Patrick Stump and Andy Hurley have been working on since FOB's last record. I literally love all FOB releases so I bet I'll like it no matter what, but after reading Joe Trohman's book I'm extremely curious what this is gonna sound like.

I hope they go back to their old post-hardcore influenced style. Pete recently did a song with nothing,nowhere, where he unleashed some of his best screams to date, so hopefully this means they're going back to the old style
Infinity On High was prime Fall Out Boy. So Im looking for something that can echo that........but, I will appreciate whatever they give us because it's Fall Out Boy.
We need a new album. Fun fact about no new album is this current time between new albums (Mania and now) is longer than the stretch between Folie A Duex and Save Rock and Roll when they were on hiatus. That’s how long it’s been since we got a new album (not including GH album)

If they can find a way to balance their older style with their more recent material, that could end up being one of their best albums yet if they do it just right. The Lake Effect Kid EP they put out a few years ago was a good example of what they could do if they were to harken back to their roots while also keeping with the experimentation they've pushed since their return from hiatus almost a decade ago and even from Infinity On High as they don't want to just go back to sounding like 2005 Fall Out Boy.
The way things are going now they should cash in on the poppunk nostalgia wave that has been going on for years. If thats even what theyre into now. I mean what are they into now
when the ad first came out, i literally had to take a moment to lie on the floor and scream because oh my god my favorite band is making more music. i don’t care what the sound of the new album is because i love all their albums, as long as it’s not just an hour of silence we’re good
I only expect incredible things from them. they always do different things on each album and each album is amazing. never predictable! always surprisingly great. I wish the BEST for this talented band !👏👍

i'm all for bands experimenting with their sound if they're gonna do it well, but most of their music post-hiatus just hasn't done it for me. i feel like they're self aware enough to do what they do best, i wish they'd just focus on that.

Last of the Real Ones is my favorite fob song. So underrated. I hope the band keeps evolving and trying new things cause that is what I love most about them.
