Went to Capers Island with Captain junior Magwood and one of his brothers about 1989 he showed me how they collected oyster spat (egg s roe) on 1inch in diameter pvc pipes about 12 feet long with about 6 feet pushed into the creek edge the roe would collect to the pvc pipe and 1 year or 2 later you could take an axe and knock off the oysters and have a bed
I’m not sure he was the first. There are some old timers that have been farming oysters longer than he’s been alive. In fact my brother in law’s girlfriend and her business partner has been doing it for a long long time. If you are ever in the area look up McClellanville shrimp festival and oyster roast. They come right off the boat and cook them fresh.
This may be an ad, but who can hate one about oysters. Interesting & informative.
I enjoyed that story. Kudos on the video and kudos to those guys doing all that good stuff. Oysters!

Good show
I do love the little ones though. Very lightly floured with a little salt and black pepper, deep fried 1 min. Yowza!

Oh man...
I could easily crush a dozen oysters without blinking...
A dozen? Them's rookie numbers. I think the last time I had oysters, I was with two other people and we ended up doing 10 dozen and still had dinner.
Nothing like cooking fresh oysters using a piece of metal over the fire, and a towel soaked in salt water. It really can't be beat
Why don’t we have an academy outdoors in Vermont
Because you're well north of the Mason Dixon Line lol.
⚡️Looken’ Goood !!!💦😎⚡️🇺🇸✌🏼
i could eat my weight in oysters
