Did he say, "Life is not funny"? This was so startling when it first came out in 1979 on Metal Box. Nobody knew what to do. It wasn't punk. It wasn't pop. WTF was it! Even today it doesn't fit a genre. Then they do it on American Bandstand wholly molly what is going on. I like this version better than the original. Sometime after PIL Jah WObble dropped out of music and was a Janitor. WTF. Then he comes back in with Invaders of the Heart with Sinead O'Connor and Dolores O'Riordan and blows everyone away. Truly an amazing story if there ever was one. Bloody brilliant.
I don`t know about Janitor, but he worked on the London underground (railway) for some time before he thankfully returned to music full time. He is also largely responsible for the acceptance of World Music in Britain, some time before Peter Gabriel came along and claimed that crown. It`s a disgrace that a lot of people will say "who?" when you mention his name, He is as important as Lydon is when it comes to changing the face of music. Could of been a contender? He`s a bloody legend!
Thank you Jah! Always an admirer....

@ ElCaptain... Not to forget Natacha Atlas as part of the Invaders lineup - what a voice.
He wasn’t a janitor
