Follow your passion. I can only paint on weekends. Painting after work would remove the tiny bit of soul I might have left. :)

cool! Meandering Mike just mentioned sending you some 15mm minis, last Saturday.
i hope you keep at it, perhaps paint like you would eat an elephant.

Totally with you on the lack of motivation thing. I think that sometimes we need variety to keep things interesting. So as a rule, I don’t paint the “same thing” twice in a row. I find that I just end up resenting my hobby because it starts feeling like work. So I ensure that I have some “palate cleansers” on hand to work through. I have a Numidian project that is great for this, super low effort, no pressure to get it done, and it is in 15mm which means progress feels rapid.
The figures you have done do look good though, and I would caution against ever getting rid of painted stuff, I have ways regretted it after the fact.

I know what you mean by that sort of tired... not muscular, but brain tired. After teaching a day of school I come home kind of exhausted. It's a real mental workout.

I understand the burnout. I've got 14 figures left of 240, and about 30 hours left. I just have no desire to do anything at the moment. tonight i am so tired.

Ok here way are. Nice job. Very good painting. My grenadiers are mixed facings to reflect different units. Nobody notices.
    1809 campaign is the best.

OK after watching your video a little bit longer, I realize that you are sounding very burnt out. I would certainly not let figure manufacturers that are a bit slow and sending out figures derail your enthusiasm. I think there might be a slight adjustment for you that could bring this back into focus. Let me do a little research and I will write you again within the next few minutes.

I think since you like the Ottomans and eastern wars, you could shift your focus to something maybe a little bit more fictitious, which is the Astro Turkish wars. Although between 1818 20, the Austrians were focused more on the Napoleonic wars. It was always a bit of a powder keg towards the east. And of course, if you painted your Austrians with their earlier helmets, then certainly the wars with turkey and the Ottomans would come in to play. You can use your Ottomans and others and Napoleonic looking Austrians very easily.

@@wgeffoxdo9719 Yes, that's what kept me out of miniatures for so many decades. The thought that I would need hundreds if not thousands of figures to do a battle.... And then I just discovered skirmish rules, the Osprey books and being able to game with a few figures or up to maybe a couple hundred and not thousands.

@@charleslatora5750 I agree, but you can always just downscale to like 6mm, 15mm or just use less models in a unit!, like 24 men in a 28mm unit. regardless, for any scale, playing napoleonic takes alot of models

These look great! I’m sorry you’re struggling with motivation, but paint what you want it’s a hobby not a job!
