PSP's was better imo. DSi's (not DS lite nor OG DS) was also great. Vita as you said was good, but like the front buttons it was kinda of small, lately a picked a used PSP and I got kind of surprised of how big and good it felt compared to my vita. It was way different in size compared to how I remember it being... Funny how memory works.
Thanks for the video. I don't like the arrangement of the right analogue stick at the ipega. You have to constantly reach around to switch between the buttons and the analogue stick with your thumb. It would be better if the stick was below, or even better diagonally next to the buttons. As is usual with Playstation and X-Box controllers. In its current form it just feels unwieldy. I hope Ipega or other manufacturers will rethink the design and create a new telescopic controller. Unfortunately there is nothing else on the market. The design of the Gamevice controllers for Ipad is actually okay, but they don't have R3/L3 and they are not available for android tablets. So that's a nogo too.
I always adjust key mapping settings between emulators, I just feel more secure knowing a remote works how I intend it to from the start. No surprises, no problems, no hassle! Great video as always, thank you for such interesting content!! Dropped this comment from Pennsylvania
have you ever tried retroarch? I'm pretty sure you know about it, it's just the nicest way to have ALL your emulators in one place, it takes some tweaking on the settings but it works wonders! You can also have it on PC, the XMB menu it's so good!

if just installing and running games, it works much like how it does on a PC. you install the apps, place the roms in a particular folder, the apps will automatically search the games and voila. pairing with gamepads is a breeze just like you see on this video.
Props on not recommending that overpriced tablet. I did pickup the controller and with my aging Huawei Mediapad m3 it rocks emulation. Joy joy happy happy. Not a super portable, in-your-pocket kind of thing but totally gets the job done nicely notwithstanding.

Yeah, nice review! I have this controller and is nice to play on it , I like it. Currently, I am playing N64 games, it works flawlessly. I think that how much we open the left side, more pressure it will apply to the device attached on it, so I would recommend to rely 90% on the right side, where is the lock and 10% on the left side, just to make some pressure to hold on the device. Well it will depend on the device size too. I have 2 tablets, one with 7 and 10.5 inch size. The 7 inch tablet fits perfectly with what I said, 10% and 90%. The 10.5 I never tested it attached on the controller, I use it like a desktop. I am from Brazil and thank you for the review. Cheers.
I already ordered ipega 9087 thanks to your previous videos. I think the best value tablet right now for emulator gaming is mi pad 4. It's really cheap with SD660 and have a big battery.
I use this very controller for gaming on the go, and I really do like the setup aside from one thing. The corners of the D-pad are very pronounced, almost sharp. Playing on an old controller like NES will give you some thumbtip soreness, but this D-pad actually got to be fairly painful and I had to put it down. I still use it, I still love to play using it, only my sessions tend to run shorter than they might if I were using a more well known style of controller.
I have the ipega red knight that you reviewed and it works great, i just can't wrap my head around why they used the Xbox layout for the 4 buttons, both on the red knight and this. I mean, you're gonna be playing exactly 0 Xbox games with it. Literally anything else would have worked better, like the SNES layout, which is on the SNES itself, the DS, the 3DS and on GB and GBA withe the A and B buttons, all of those systems can be emulated on a tablet, PLUS it works with the Switch, which YET AGAIN uses the SNES layout, i really don't understand the thought process.
I see your point, but maybe (I have no idea whatsoever about mobile games) maybe cellphone games use the Xbox layout because (and I do know for a fact) it's better known since Xbox and all Pc games use it.

Good point but mobile games very rarely rely on ypu having a controller, they are made to be played with touchscreen so they even if they do have onscreen buttons, they aren't gonna be letters but little pictures of what the button does. i can't think of a single mobile game that has an Xbox button layout.
Because companies like these like to simply copy-paste products from other successful IP owners. As long as it's "hip" and "trendy" you can be sure manufacturers like these are going to copy them.

I got a cheap RCA Voyager from Walmart for about $30 and at the time my favorite ipega was $29. So basically for $60 I could emulate basically as many systems as the raspberry pi if not a few more. I believe that system handles n64 and playstation at VERY playable frame rates. Some titles like podracer played with almost no issues.

If this is great, there is no reason to hack the switch, 3ds, or any official portable console, just emulate on that thing and you don't have to worry about your system getting bricked. You can emulate almost any game system that runs games weaker than xbox360, ps3, and wiiu. Even some games on modern consoles with less complexity and less system power demand can run on that. Very good to see what we get after this nvidia shield tablet getting discontinued.

The analog looks just like their older ipega controller, bad deadzone. Ipega best controller is the red Knight (9087) model, better analogs and compact.
@@32poppasavage28 I haven't tried that. I got if to kind of make my own with an Android tablet like suggested in the video. Then the Steam Android Stream app came out and now I use it for that too. I should try it on our switch. I have big hands and nerve damage, so the Joy Cons suck.

I have the 9062s the design it's just like the Xbox One controller, I use it for mobile and PC. It is a great controller overall! It's just a shame that it doesn't seem to work with the Xbox One though!

Well I bought it some time ago, and I am disappointed, the buttons have a very bad gum, so it sounds a lot and doesnt have a nice mecanic response. But I dont know about any other option at that price.
How do the analog sticks feel? I noticed they're placed on top of the face buttons rather than on the bottom like most other controllers. Is it comfortable to use them like that?

I tried earlier and just thought it was in general, but just came back an hour later after no issues and it happened again after clicking the link. The thing is I want to mount the tablet vertically. DS emulation works better with screens on top of each other IMHO. Waited the whole video for you to mount it vertically but you did not. Does the tablet fit vertically in this controller or is the controller too big for it? Can anyone confirm?
The analogs on the iPega devices are terrible. The deadzones are immense and bring down the granularity of the analogs to near digital levels, forcing you to push them all the way to one side to register properly.

Please buy a 4gb ram cellphone, otherwise you migth get a 64bit cpu with a 32bit os and you wont be able to install dolphin or citra

Yes, that works great. I have several Ipega controllers and this is the best one yet. The 9055 broke down on me. This model and the 9033 are great.

The foams hurt the effin switch. Now I only use it to play games on android phone. Kinda look like psp when you attach the phone in.
