G’day and greetings from Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺 what a absolutely beautiful clock I am very envious the tune everything about it fantastic and you have done a great job on restoring it, thank you for showing how you would set a clock like this up and the chimes and terrific thank you once again kind regards John Kinnane
Thanks. We just moved my moms clock like this and I couldn’t remember how the weights went on. Now I know I need to flip the ‘wheel’ up on ‘strings’ and then hook weights on. Thanks
I enjoyed watching this video. I have a 5 tube Herschede clock from 1924. It runs fine except now 1 chime note doesn’t sound, like the hammer isn’t striking it right. . I am in North Carolina, but I am having trouble finding anyone willing to come check it out. Can you direct me on how to locate someone qualified?
How do you keep the cables from jumping the barrels? I have a 1910 Herschede 9 tuber and the cables always want to jump off and get tangled when moving it even though I used something to hold them in place...I just got the cable untangled and when rewinding it always want to jump off the barrel again...this movement looks identical to mine but it may be newer...Sounds good...nice looking clock-My case is more gothic styled than this one-what year is this clock form...
Hello mark. I own a herschede clock a little older than this one by looks. The problem is that it isn’t chiming at all. It’s not the silent and chime lever. Also it chime 5 minutes early. Do you know a fix? Thanks 🙏
@@DaltonClockRepair I’ve only worked on two both Ridgeway and they cane out the front I have a client with one that I’m having trouble seeing how it comes out will look at the top coming off or getting the back open thanks
Such beautiful satisfying sounds it brings me back to a time when i saw the castles in Germany
The chimes sound absolutely beautiful! Perfect volume!!!
Glad I came across this video. I love anything clock related
Thanks for showing us how you set the clock up, and very kind of the lady to let you video what a beautiful clock
Thanks for sharing this. This clock looks better and sounds better than the average tall case clock, in my opinion.

Wao me encantó ese tipo de reloj nunca lo había visto. Suena como las campanas de una iglesia. Gracias por compartir. Bendiciones
What model is that?
You have ideas on removing a tubular movement when the top does not come off as this one did
You can remove the back panel and take it out from the back. If you have enough head room, you can also take the top off and remove through the top.

Why the hose clamps on the tops of the chime tubs?
Tubes are cracked. This restores the sound.
May need to look at the 8:16 min mark. Talking about Herschede clock. Not quite what the words say. Had to laugh about that.
