Coming from an S23, ive had to go for the ultra this year, i much prefer the smaller phones, but it is criminal that the cameras have been the same since the S20/S21 for the base phone
Well If you can wait for another year then the S26 would be better because it would come with silicon carbon battery and a very large battery capacity than what you get on the s25 which is just 4000 mAh.

even s6 has 1440p back in 2015, but practically i like my s24's 1080p screen more than s20's and s9's 1440p for some reason, maybe color accuracy and less pwm is more noticeable than pixel density
@@LightSaber12345 Yeah, it's really only in "small" objects where you might gain/lose detail at that point. I actually set my S24 to the lower resolution. It saves on battery life and I can hardly tell.

Very true, I've got all the ai shindigary on my S23 Plus. Don't use any of it, only ai thing I use is the brave browsers ai, to summarise stuff to make it quicker to get info.
FHD is actually very noticeable when you've used the QHD+ resolution for a while. You can see the bluriness of FHD right away. I hope the regular will be QHD next year. i find the Ultra and the + quite big

You don't want a coating for antireflective. Sunscreen and oils eat thru it leaving smudges. Plus then you can't use a protector either. Id rather stick with what works .
Finaaally.. As a samsung Galaxy s21+ user. I'm really happy to see that samsung gets to give the base s25 models an 12gb. I pre ordered a navy one cause it's a nice colour.

What phone do you have currently? The main difference between base and the Plus is battery life and display quality. If you tend to watch a lot of content and don't mind using your phone with 2 hands 90% of the time, go with the Plus. If you like using your phone with one hand then go with the base model. You can't really tell the difference between FHD+ and QHD+ between 2 models, but if you set the Plus to FHD+, then you will notice the difference between the 2 display settings.

I think the big thing that should come that didn't is a bigger battery for the entire series, but specially for the base version. It also should charge faster. I had great hopes for this year but maybe will hold off and buy the next gen

Agreed with the criticism on the telephoto camera especially. iPhone 16 Pro has a 5x 12MP periscope zoom. Pixel 9 Pro has a 5x 48MP periscope zoom. The 3x 10MP telephoto is not cutting it in 2025, really disappointed it was not upgraded. It's also very annoying because the photos are taken at 12MP so there is no native resolution, it has to upscale always which makes things look worse.
Solid review! Still using my S10 without major issues, aside from the battery finally degrading after constant usage over 5.5 years. Once it kicks the bucket, I'll see what Samsung has to offer, but I'm sure I'll be checking out your channel before making any decisions.

i always chose the base model, from s7 to s20, and now finally gonna buy the s25 after my s20 developed a green line dead center of the screen several weeks ago.
I like smaller phones too. I wish asus kept the momentum with the Zenfone's. The base S line is one of the only small flagships left and i hope samsung continues to make and improve them.
Went with reg s25. Its lighter and cant wait to go back to a more reasonable display size that fits better in my hand. My current S22+ just too big for a lot of one handed operation.

It's a 15% overall upgrade from the S24 in terms of general experience.
I've actually always preferred the regular ones, not a fan of the design on ultra versions and not missing much by going the regular route
