The decision to open the cantonment areas for public may undermine the interests of Army. . Public need to understand the situation as if army personal don't feel secure so it will definitely affect the efficiency of our brave soldiers... . . Alternative routes for public may be a good option.

This govment decision can make a great issue between civilian and army. Army has a good point of security and civilian has also a good point of road issue. But according to me, Army's point of Security is big. We should think about it.
First they settle around Cantonment Area which was established away from Civilian Population. Then the want Cantt. Area to be shifted. Those who think Defence forces personnel's and Civilians are same don't know their forces properly. Defence Personnel's life's are very different from there Civilians counterpart. First serve in forces then talk about facilities they get.

Good morning study iq I would like to comment very well on this issue... since i am an army brat... i have seen why Cantonment are very much necessary for the defence... the reasons which you gave in the favour of army are very well defined... army cantonments are an integral part of army... why this problem is arising is because of not a proper planning before making any urban settlement as you have seen in india no major planning is done before making any major urban area... on ome side PM is promoting that wherever we see army personals we should clap and promote them and on the other hand we are not making an environment in which they are free... since jaipur Cantonment is in a peace area that doesn't mean that no terrorist attack will occur here in future... o remember that in 2008-09 there were bomb blasts in certain parts of india and jaipur was one amongst them... that could have happened in this cantt also which in peace area so we should not compromise with the working of the defence... We should not go against the interests of the army. Yes, we sometimes face problems regarding roads but our problem isn't big as security threat. It is a much bigger concern for us and ultimately we'll suffer.

Contonment area should be isolated from City . One thing can do this road provide speedy vehicles can allowed. Or previously notice the rode is closed.
Actually, that would create a lot of other problem for us. Because most of us have to go outside to buy vegetables and whatnot. Vegetable vendors are allowed inside with a pass but u cant really count on them to show up when u need. Plus their are so many basic necessities too. The answer must be that civilians should learn to compromise a little bit.

I live in a cantt area having cammand office, army units which surely have artillery and other useful army products......access. Of civilians will effect not only army families but will also increase crime rates and exploitation Of army services...
Mai khud Dehradun mai rehta hu or I facing same problem but jhaa hamare jwan hamare liye itna khuch jhel rahe hai kya hum unki security ke liye thoda lambda ghoom kar ya fir thoda rukh kar nahi jaa sakte but khuch aise rules ya solution nikalna chahiye jise emergency cases like ambulance ko checking ke baad road cross karne diya jaye.
Defence minister is overriding her power.Who will take the responsibility if something happens to the family of a soldier when he is fighting against the enemies .To these politicians what matters is their own selfish interests .All they can do is just give a statement when a soldier dies while fighting .And this quite discouraging for soldiers who are 24*7 alert to protect its ppl and when it comes to their families' protection ,we don't even bother .shame on this govt .
One of the reason of civilian population in cantonment area of Pakistan is that officers in transit are provided comfortable and reasonable rental houses constructed by civilians if they choose to rent out them. However I read Major General Mitha who observed in his autobiography "Bombay se GHQ tak بمبئ سے جی ایچ کیو تک" that it fired back as the civilian are wealthier than the army officers having multiple vehicles in their use whereas army officers hardly able to maintain a vehicle. Thus creates inferiority complex.

My residential area is within 1 km of cantonment and yes we always face this Roads issue, not everwhere but atleast they can remove gates where civilians has to suffer more and our Army security is not weak that they need a gate for protection !
Sir I also live in cantonment region there is no issue between army and locals the are free to use but when army need to block these roads locals have no problem with them because they knew the problem faced by them.

simple solution is to let only some civilians who satisfy the defence people's conditions. verify the civilian and his needs to enter into the cantonments and than allow them. in this way there will b no security issue and also civilians will b happy😅😄.

In Hyd cantonment area ekdum middle city me hai. N sirf ek road hai 7 km tak. Pura round lagakar jana padta jus 100m k liye bhi Agar open kare roads to yaar bilkul ryt hai.
what a coincident ,i live in morar cantt gwalior and having the same issue ,here people recently protested to open the road even police had to come abd than a leader came and assured the crowd to restart the road

This move by govt. is certainly for vote bank. I myself being from army background can assure that Army never does anything to annoy someone. It has to deal with national security, it is not that much free to think on such petty issues. And its one of the best armies of world for a reason despite that our govt. cant even provide them sufficient arms and ammunition. Rules must be followed, and its same for everyone whether civilian or army person. I have myself seen cases where army personnels were not allowed to enter restricted areas when they did not follow the rules. Btw, yes cantonments are clean and green because of army only. Wherever civilians will enter they will just litter and make the place dirty. All these issues are good for debate but realise that its army and our scientists who has really served the nation honestly. All others are just to eat...

Indian army. His mother father and one grandma lives near my house. And they live very peacefully. We all take care us together.
There is no issue of security.The debate is over public convenience and family's security. Cantonments exists in the urban areas and many other civilians also live with them. Moreover, many families of armyman also live outside the cantonment. And there has been no cases of security concerns over the years. We should keep your sentiments aside and think rationally. Here I think MoD took the right decision.

simple solution is to let only some civilians who satisfy the defence people's conditions. verify the civilian and his needs to enter into the cantonments and than allow them. in this way there will b no security issue and also civilians will b happy😅😄.
Civilian cannot understand that when Army blockage the road .....
Road Blockage is not only for civilian but family member of Army person is also not allow to pass through that road......

In Hyd cantonment area ekdum middle city me hai. N sirf ek road hai 7 km tak. Pura round lagakar jana padta jus 100m k liye bhi Agar open kare roads to yaar bilkul ryt hai.

what a coincident ,i live in morar cantt gwalior and having the same issue ,here people recently protested to open the road even police had to come abd than a leader came and assured the crowd to restart the road

This move by govt. is certainly for vote bank. I myself being from army background can assure that Army never does anything to annoy someone. It has to deal with national security, it is not that much free to think on such petty issues. And its one of the best armies of world for a reason despite that our govt. cant even provide them sufficient arms and ammunition. Rules must be followed, and its same for everyone whether civilian or army person. I have myself seen cases where army personnels were not allowed to enter restricted areas when they did not follow the rules. Btw, yes cantonments are clean and green because of army only. Wherever civilians will enter they will just litter and make the place dirty. All these issues are good for debate but realise that its army and our scientists who has really served the nation honestly. All others are just to eat...

There is not only army man is " DESHBHAKT". I am too. They stand on boarder to serve nation and we work for development of economy of nation. It doesn't mean I have no love for my country. Many people serve country as volunteer in duration of war. Leave it. You won't understand.
sapna chandel what is use of cantonment ??? Many developed nation doesn't have cantonment for army. Ie, usa, France etc. Is their army doesn't able to protect their country ? Cantonment is only for residential purposes and civilians also live in cantonment so it's illogical to blocking the road for civilian. Thats why I use the gdp term. If civilians traval long distance which take more time and fuel for avoiding only a residential area. Isn't it bad for nation ? Isn't it affect our economy ?

There is no issue of security.The debate is over public convenience and family's security. Cantonments exists in the urban areas and many other civilians also live with them. Moreover, many families of armyman also live outside the cantonment. And there has been no cases of security concerns over the years. We should keep your sentiments aside and think rationally. Here I think MoD took the right decision.
Opening cantonments areas for public is bad for army's family. the kind of safety i felt in cantt was awesome.that is different culture and living. so let it be like that.

सेना के हितों का सरकार और जनता को विशेष ध्यान रखना चाहिए। सरकार तो मजबूर है कहीं सत्ता न चली जाए लेकिन जनता को समझना चाहिए कि सेना कितने खतरे में होती है। लोकतंत्र में जनता अगर खराब है तो देश का कभी हित नहीं हो सकता।
और सीधी सीधी बात है कैंटोनमेंट में से अपने आसानी के लिए रास्ता मांगने के लिए कोई देशप्रेमी तो नहीं लड़ेगा वो सिर्फ लालची ही या गद्दार ही हो सकता है जो अपने छोटे छोटे सुख को सेना के बड़े हितों से ज्यादा महत्व दे।
