Excellent review, love these videos focusing on WoWs blitz, they definitely help in understanding these ships better. Just one minor quibble - a “paper tiger” is something that on paper looks good but doesn’t actually have a lot of bite. A better description would be “glass cannon” - those shells will hurt when they hit, but it’s also fragile.
Thank you for the feedback! The content of these isn’t always accurate as some ships are buffed and nerfed over time but it’s still generally correct. Thanks for pointing the paper tiger/glass cannon, will take it into account.
Sure, I use 406mm shells (Alabama) and see how much damage the targeted ship really takes, full broadside at range, repeated enough times. Gives a good idea of the effectiveness of the armor, superstructure layout and citadel protection (I take citadel damage into account). In short, I shoot at it.
I just hv no idea why the bismarck is so accurate... when i use her, she shoots like a fking shotgun, once i was aiming in a immobile and bow tanking amagi, then all the shots that supposingly aimed towards it were dunked into the water... horrible horizontal dispertion for me
That was a surprise to me as well; hence the follow up vid with the long range bismarck. The only inaccurate ship of the line is GK, and it’s actually not that bad.
NC and Amagi are literally the easiest ships to brawl using other bbs. I often take down a full health nonbot NC/Amagi in a brawling situation suffering merely 30K ish of my HP (Monarch), they are just too citadelable I sometimes wipe them off within 4-5 salvos landing 3-4 citadel hits on them while they barely scratch me.
@@deathfromabove432 Yeah, technically speaking it shouldn't be so, only that almost all the NC and Amagi I encountered are kind of impotent and I happened to get alone quite well with my RN BBs. One thing to note that both of them are relatively more Citadelable than other BBs. At least in my personal experience.
North Carolina. The ship I either get my best performance of 80k damage or worst performance at 0 damage. Any play style advice would be deeply appreciated.
Just do what I do in the vid - play with a CV, otherwise your AA is useless. Occupy a central position; you're too slow to flank and planes like the center. Act as an umbrella for your team, follow closely and try getting to mid range, where your accuracy improves.
Correct! I tested all ships without commanders, including the Alabama footage; the gameplay is with a maxed Hipper which indeed increases the amount of PA salvoes but also the AP Pen at range. And is heavily recommended for the build.
You delivered some excellent content in this comparison of Tier 8 BBs. I haven’t played the Bismarck in over a year, I’m shocked 😮 about the accuracy performance. Do I think Alabama is more accurate than North Carolina - 👎.
Thank you Ira. You'll see in next week's iteration that the accuracy isnt good for 38cm guns, but the DPS is waaayy better and it reloads faster.. add the insame amount of survivability and that's what makes it surprisingly effective at range - and very noob friendly. I'll cover that next week. But the real competitive advantage lies in short range engagements. Feel free to share on your fleet's server, I'm sure it'll help a few people.
Ah, I did not have all the ships back then, but the good news is I've completed the series yesterday with Tirpitz, Odin and Massa. Should normally be published this week..
@@deathfromabove432 Nice. Really looking forward to that. I have and love playing the Tirpitz, but am always looking for ways to improve my gameplay :D
Oh i believe this is one of the most covered topics on the channel...take a look at the bismarck and gneisenau guides, plenty of footage, and FDG is coming!
@@izalplayz_1120 ah, no, you might want to check the general battleships guide for that, it's more of a traditional battleship. Stick around, the line is great.

Bismarck is an absolute beast! She is now my no. 1 favorite ship in this game!
It's a very good platform, I agree! quite unique in its ability to shine at any range. And one of my favourites 🤗
I like your use of stats man👍. It really allows me to compare my ships accurately 😃
Thank you - you can join our discord server, the stats sheets are there and contain accuracy, armor and damage as well!
Useful content! Keep it up DFA
Thank you. Glad you appreciate it!
Awesome job DFA
Thank you!
may i ask how is the damage taken percentage calculated?

I wouldn’t say that… they both have powerful guns and are much more efficient closer than at range.

With an upgraded captain, her accuracy at range jumps significantly.

Just a question, but why didn't you include ships such as the Tirpitz in the lists?
