    I grew up in a military neighborhood in the mid to late 1970's, and the CB750 was the most popular bike among servicemen at the time. There were dozens of them on my street, and that sweet sound never faded from my memory.

    My father was a Honda Motorcycle dealer in Brooklyn in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. He sold thousands of that bike. I remember being 10 years old and ripping the shipping crates apart and laying out the accessories for installation.

    Waiting at my bus stop going to school a guy in our town bought the first one from the Honda shop and would turn on to the main drag right in front of us every morning and get on it. We couldn't wait to see it again the next morning. Everyone wanted one. It was so cool. This is a one in a life time find you have here. Congrats on this find and Thanks for the video.

    I've seen this bike in all it's flavors . People chopped them , bobbed them , drag raced them , put fairings on them and hooked sidecars to them , made them custom ...you name it . But , that is why everyone loved them . The CB 750 was another home run for Honda . PK

    My father was the owner of one 750's in early 1971, the same color and one of the first bikes arrived in Argentina!
    I was only 6 years old at this moment but this motorcycle is always on my mind..
    Nowdays my father is 83 years old and every Day drives a modest Honda PCX 150 scooter..
    Sorry about my basic english....
    God Bless America !
    Greetings from Buenos Aires Argentina 🇦🇷 🇺🇸

    According to The Honda Museum in Japan, the earlier models, including the Sandcast was just called a CB750K there was only ever 136,CB750 KO Which Was a transition model There was using the earlier parts that was left and the newer parts which was going to go on the K1 Basically, just using up The older parts But for some reason in America, they started calling All the Early bikes K0s

    What a cool bike. I started off wanting a '79-'80 Honda CBX as my first street bike, but in the last 3 years they've suddenly shot way up in value, so I might have to settle for a CB750, but they too are past their low-price apex. Maybe one day!

    Great bike. Since you asked....I don't think that steering damper comes stock on the 750, but that's an added part, not a replaced part. And 69 was the first year of production, not 70. I love my 75 CB750. If you want a reliable vintage bike, buy a Honda CB.

    • @RobinRobin-kz7qw
      @RobinRobin-kz7qw 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes you wrote what I recognised too.
      This added part was as necessary as new shock absorbers very soon and better tyres.
      Another problem were the spark plug connectors in rain,
      the oil pipe when hot
      and the uncontrolled sidestand in those days (in Germany).

    Makes me feel really old, the tyre pressure recommendation. This bike is magnificent but I've often wondered if a bike is to actually be ridden regularly, rather than just admired, would many people prefer to own a K1, with its improved cam chain tensioner and carb throttle slide actuation. Perhaps a few have eschewed total originality for these reasons but kept the original parts safely to one side. I almost bought a K1 many years ago, in 1974 but was lucky I didn't. I worked with the eventual buyer's wife and met him one morning as he dropped her off at work on it, he then telling me that the original owner had hammered it so badly that the crankshaft had been twisted, making accurate timing an impossibility. I felt relief at my then purchase of an used Triumph Trident T150V, whose previous and meticulous owner bought a new one, year on year.

    Ken, What does K0 stand for?

    • @stephen_crumley
      @stephen_crumley 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The K number is the variations of the design changes as the new models were created. The K0 was 1969-1970, but on September 21st 1970 they introduced the K1, K1 had smaller side panels and the slots in the side panels were removed from the original K0 1969-1970. So the only model with the cutouts/slots on the side panels were K0’s. They also changed the cabling to the carbs to a 2 cable system instead of the 4 into 4 of the original K0. The changes over the next couple years designated the K2 and so on
