@9600GTMAN It worked with a spare cable when connected to USB power, but I did not have a long enough spare cable to use it in the car. Sending it back to China to get a refund is often nearly as expensive as the price of the item - this is part of what makes the scam effective for the scammers.

I once bought a Cenoco action cam, from a local reputable (well, it was anyway) online store. I was surprised how cheaply you could get a simple 1080p action cam. Then I was surprised it only recorded at 480p despite having FULL HD and 1080p printed all over the packaging and even on the camera itself. The "1080p" on the camera came right off when scratched at slightly. I used to believe a store actually checked what it was selling. Guess I was wrong, as this blatant scam had made it onto the site.
A thought on the camera not pointing ahead with the mirror adjusted... could it be designed for left hand drive? With the mirror in that angle it might point ahead but on right hand drive it’s too far to the side.

no. cap won't last a minute. its a battery. a minute or two is about right. the battery is only their to let it turn off successfully and retain memory (time date) settings. nothing else. they are not intended to run off the battery alone. so while that unit is utter garbage and was a scam the lack of battery power is actually normal.
@@tristan6509 that and it's also needed for proper shutdown the camera is program that when power is removed it turns off but the nature of these video files is they have to be closed properly or the file becomes corrupt this takes a couple of seconds for the camera to finish closing the file and then shut down without corrupting anyting it was a nasty problem in the early days of dash cams :-)

THANK YOU for playing the original video of the Ray-Ban sunglasses after you moved them out of the way I thought I hope he takes them out of the box I want to see them
"Don't worry, it is still a scam." Thank God for that, I was worried you might have bought a legit product there.
I have something to ask, I'm interested in doing some scambaiting,(inspired by your videos of course), but I'm wondering if there is an important technique to it, that will keep the scammers on hold. Could you recommend a guide or something that can help me through the process? Thanks. Also, love your vids, great quality and original content.
Thank you - I usually just play it by ear, but if you want some masterclasses in scambaiting, check out kitboga and Jim Browming
@@AtomicShrimp okay, thanks, I'll check it out
@@AtomicShrimp I love Jim Browning, I found you while watching him!
@@AnnoyingAsianWitch me too
@@AtomicShrimp Yes. Kitboga is terrific at phone scam baiting. Clever and funny.
Battery is bad for a reason. You are supposed to have this device plugged in all the time and battery is there just in case. Also high capacity battery is more dangerous.
The power supply didn't work, so I had no way to do that
@9600GTMAN It worked with a spare cable when connected to USB power, but I did not have a long enough spare cable to use it in the car.
Sending it back to China to get a refund is often nearly as expensive as the price of the item - this is part of what makes the scam effective for the scammers.
Wow that is beyond creepy. I'm disturbed simply when I get spammed with emails from a company who stole my address off a mailing list, I couldn't imagine actually receiving mail like that.

It was a scam»

Scam: 1080p
Atomic Shrimp: Are you sure about that?
I once bought a Cenoco action cam, from a local reputable (well, it was anyway) online store. I was surprised how cheaply you could get a simple 1080p action cam. Then I was surprised it only recorded at 480p despite having FULL HD and 1080p printed all over the packaging and even on the camera itself. The "1080p" on the camera came right off when scratched at slightly. I used to believe a store actually checked what it was selling. Guess I was wrong, as this blatant scam had made it onto the site.
As someone with severe adhd, the box wiggling didn't bother me in the slightest, instead it made me feel more at home
Literally made want me want to do the same
Take out the small box and put it back, take out, put back
@@cheezorger Interesting name.
@@jd_the_cat cheers mate
The old bait and switch, nice to see the classics making a come back
A thought on the camera not pointing ahead with the mirror adjusted... could it be designed for left hand drive? With the mirror in that angle it might point ahead but on right hand drive it’s too far to the side.
00:02 *Nice Rap Bruh*
Asjad Ali 😂😂😂😂😂
HAHAHAHA
What I thought AS looked like: Hair, contacts, and shaven
What AS actually looks like: The opposite of what I thought he'd look like
THIS IS NOT AN INSULT TO ATOMIC SHRIMP. IT WAS JUST UNEXPECTED TO ACTUALLY SEE HIS FACE.
*I was always wondering when I see this kind of offers could the Facebook and Instagram be sued for this scam??*
no . they are a platform not the scammers. its like punishing the road because the drivers are bad. legally they can do nothing . you will need to sue every single scammer indevidually.
Seeing left side driving always pissed me off 🤣. Great video
the dashcam footage with accompanying music was strangely soothing
Love the rhyming lol.
"Dashcam Scam from Instagram"
Look at the definition - WISH. So you wish the product to be true but is actually not. I have checked a Jacket advertised as £7 but at checkout jumped to £25.
wish is actually safe. wish is a middle man for sellers. if you get scammed WISH will refund your money and TAKE the money from the sellers account or whatever it is they do nothing to do with you. IE I trust wish. not that I won't get bullcrap but wish will protect you and refund your money. at least in my experience.
dont try to contact the seller. a scammer wont reply. contact wish through the app. I have gotten a few scummy orders and they were very fast to make it right with a full refund.

This world is sad when there is literally millions of people out there that base their entire existence on scamming people out of their hard earned money...
The blueness of it is by design, I think. My mom's rearview has a setting that shifts the mirrors to a blue mode for glare reduction at night (filters out some of the orange/yellow light).
Wow. I love how lying is just a part of our culture now.
Interesting about "brushing" I hadn't heard of that. At least _someone_ gets something for free.
"Now, don't worry. It is still a scam."
Well, thank goodness for that.
Greetings from Canada!
Love you videos!
the leftside traffic gave me anxiety at first
this is what they call a bait and switch
That battery sound more like a capacitor of some sort than a battery...
Exactly. They put a cap in there to remember your settings when power is cut.
no. cap won't last a minute. its a battery. a minute or two is about right. the battery is only their to let it turn off successfully and retain memory (time date) settings. nothing else. they are not intended to run off the battery alone. so while that unit is utter garbage and was a scam the lack of battery power is actually normal.
@@nerys71 k that makes sense, so it's practically just a cmos battery right?
@@tristan6509 that and it's also needed for proper shutdown the camera is program that when power is removed it turns off but the nature of these video files is they have to be closed properly or the file becomes corrupt this takes a couple of seconds for the camera to finish closing the file and then shut down without corrupting anyting it was a nasty problem in the early days of dash cams :-)
@@nerys71 wow, autocorrect sucks, anyway I think they used a battery from a small drones (350mah?) Cuz you're probably going to need a supercap to hold that much charge...
I get anxiety any time I see Brits driving. My brain goes: "Get to the other side! Someone's gonna crash into you!"
I always say that when I'm over there. For some reason, my brain can process seeing a car "without a driver" but it blows my mind when I see a dog or someone reading the newspaper in the "driver's seat". One time was a guy asleep and drooling down the window. LOL.
Someone did, a CIA agent in the uk hit and killed someone then fled the country
The unnecessarily intense music for the recording is incredible
Hey Atomic shrimp, I been watching your videos lately and I liked them. All of the sudden I was scrolling through youtube where is shows suggested videos and I end up coming across your videos. I started watching them and started to get more interested. I don't like scammers they are the worse, I am glad I am watching and learning as I go.
I hope you could leave me a response that would make my day better.

I bought a similar item like that for $10, it was 720p, it reflects everything in blue, battery will not charge.o
Where’s your table from? It’s beautiful. Did you make it because I have not seen anything similar; it’s quite unique
Dear Atomic Shrimp, for the shipping address, did you provide the Hollity address? Or the Sablity address?
