I do indeed agree that humanity comes first. However i also believe we shouldn’t immediately genocide all alien life for the sake of it. An attempt at diplomacy should always come first. If we can strike a deal, it would be better than sending millions of young men into a ww1-esque meatgrinder. For example take the 40k universe, i get the roleplaying part of it, but in reality the approach the IoM takes is out of necessity and not a choice. Since we do not live in that universe we do indeed have the choice to at least try for diplomacy.
The plot armor is the only reason the navi didnt get their asses whooped. Only by the grace of a miracle did they win, if this movie was realistic the navi would be destroyed by superior technology in an instant.
Now. You may think, "That thing looks human." Stands on two legs, right? But we're created in the Lord's image. You don't think that's what the Lord looks like, do you? - Richard Strickland (Michael Shannon) from Shape of Water
My two main problems with avatar, especially the second one, is: 1. Human technically, especially military technology, is significantly dumbed down to make it seem like the Navi would stand an actual chance 2. The humans are morally superior to the Navi in every way, to the point where they're pacifists in the second movie. The first movie gets a pass because the idea is that humans were trying to be peaceful at first and weren't prepared for war (once again we're more peaceful and morally superior to Navi). However by the second movie this excuse makes no sense. We're straight up at war with the Navi and the Geneva convention doesn't apply to aliens, especially when mankind's existence hangs in the balance. What would have happened? 1. Satellite intelligence gathering 2. Orbital bombardment of Navi villages with bioweapons (they have the technology to make avatars, this is way easier) 3. Kinetic, chemical or nuclear strikes on trees of souls, villages and other high value targets 4. Humans land on Pandora The Navi stand absolutely no chance. Not against current human tech and definitely not against future advanced human tech
False, the Navi were just defending their home. You can't say you're pacifist when you go destroy the home of someone. Also humanity doesn't need Pandora to survive, they need to stop overpopulation and create a sustainable society on earth. People who want to mine pandora are greedy corporates.
@@ni9274 yep because that's the reasonable thing to do when refugees come to your country, commit genocide.... If humanity actually had a threat from space, we will most likely die, but we would go out blazing in glory
Unless they just blow up the planet entirely, we'll definitely make them remember!

Finally, pacific rim isn’t forgotten
We were not given the gift of flight like birds, nor the gift of the oceans like fish, we fought, we bled and we died. We earned our place as the dominant species of this planet, we earned our claim to the seas and skies, and we WILL earn our right among the stars, such is our destiny, and any who stand in our way will feel the full might of a united humanity.

seeing Pacific Rim again brings me back memories
"Tell me, human. Why do you and your brethren resist so much even with your wounded flesh and fragile bones?"
"Tell me, alien. Why do you think we've conquered our home planet? Why do you think we've reached onto the stars above? Why do you think we've gone from being hunted to being hunters? Why do you think we've tip the balance in our food chain?
From the moment we've discovered the power of fire, we've been unstoppable. Our potential only continuing to grow with every passing century. We are a species built on struggle. We progressed through war. We evolved through resisting.
For as long as we have something to fight for: self, family, nation, planet. We will always have that spark within us to resist those that attempt to stop us. To kill those that attempt to vanquish us. To show them what happens when they fight a species of war.
We have no special capabilities. We have no claws. We can't bite through steel. We can't run like beasts. Yet, we acknowledged this and just adapted to the harsh conditions of our world. We found ways to fight back against the forces of nature.
Tell me, alien. Why do you think your empire hasn't vanquished us yet? What is taking you and you so-called superior species so long? Oh, how the mighty have fallen. An underdog has tipped the balance of power in this universe once again."

One thing that makes us dominant over most other organisms is our imagination. However that same trait is what allows for people to create nonexistent ethical and ideological systems that tell you that being Human is bad or that preferring your own species survival is bad.

For second why you capitalize the word xenos? You are really Human?!
Ahem, Push a asteroid (a big one) towards Pandora, then blow it up above Pandora, go to the Navi saying you destroyed the asteroid, and make them think your the saviour, kill the weird tree they worship, use all the power you have to say something happened to the goofy tree, and make them let you mine the minerals as a way to pay back the humans for saving them, boom, easy
Humans were, are and always will be the most dominant species ever
The type 7 civilization watching this from 2000 light years away laughing their asses off 💀
Too bad because it’s not physically possible.
remember: the geneva conventions only apply to humans
I do indeed agree that humanity comes first. However i also believe we shouldn’t immediately genocide all alien life for the sake of it. An attempt at diplomacy should always come first. If we can strike a deal, it would be better than sending millions of young men into a ww1-esque meatgrinder. For example take the 40k universe, i get the roleplaying part of it, but in reality the approach the IoM takes is out of necessity and not a choice. Since we do not live in that universe we do indeed have the choice to at least try for diplomacy.
Wisely said. I'm almost surprised to see a thought out comment among all that larping going around
We tried to be diplomatic with the aliens in Avatar, and they kept killing us.
Nothing like killing godless aliens with the brothers of the earth.
I am so glad you put Pacific Rim in this, fits perfectly
Navi would have been an extinct species if Erwin Smith made planetfall on Pandora 😆💀💀
My soilder in Black Rageeee 🥶.
Humanity first.
The plot armor is the only reason the navi didnt get their asses whooped. Only by the grace of a miracle did they win, if this movie was realistic the navi would be destroyed by superior technology in an instant.
Remember we’re made in God’s image and they are not.
Now. You may think, "That thing looks human." Stands on two legs, right? But we're created in the Lord's image. You don't think that's what the Lord looks like, do you? - Richard Strickland (Michael Shannon) from Shape of Water
I love how video titled "Humanity first" displays only war and destruction.
being space orks aren't that bad tho
My two main problems with avatar, especially the second one, is:
1. Human technically, especially military technology, is significantly dumbed down to make it seem like the Navi would stand an actual chance
1. Satellite intelligence gathering
2. Orbital bombardment of Navi villages with bioweapons (they have the technology to make avatars, this is way easier)
3. Kinetic, chemical or nuclear strikes on trees of souls, villages and other high value targets
4. Humans land on Pandora
The Navi stand absolutely no chance.
And no, the lore is pretty clear that humans needed unobtainium to produce enough energy to sustain life on earth.
Oh just reduce the population? So we should genocide like 10 billion humans because the Navi aren't willing to trade a resource they aren't even using? You think that's morally justified?
@@ni9274 bro navi liturally poked the wasp hive
As a human myself, if we're under threat by another sentient species of course I'd choose my own than the other. It's either us that go down or them, no middle grounds thats for sure.
