I've enjoyed Scottish historical romances for a long time and is a particular weakness of mine. If there's even a hint of kilts in it, I will probably read it :D . I love the Outlander book series as well as the tv series, I'm waiting impatiently for the next book and season to be released. I've been meaning to get to When A Scot Ties The Knot, eventually I'll read it. I read all of Julie Garwood's Scottish-themed books and loved them! I devoured all of Karen Marie Moning's Highlander series and was sad to see them end. Amy Jarecki is one of my favorite authors who happens to have a series out about Highlanders called Lords of the Highlands and I've read nearly all of the books in that series. Tamara Gill has a great fantasy/ Scottish romance series called Time Traveler's Highland Love. If you're looking for a mix of Scottish and English romance, check out the Windham Brides series by Grace Burrowes which was amazing and in one of the books, the hero has a huge (though rather dusty) Library and the heroine wants to start a free Library (the third book). I also recommend Julia London's Highland Grooms series. I don't think I'll ever tire of reading Scottish and Irish romance :D .

"Ransom" by Julie Garwood is one of my favorites, it's actually in the same series as The Secret. It's funny, suspenseful and most of all soooo romantic!

I've re-read Moning's highlander books a million times. The one with Adam is like fire, so smexy smexy. If I'm in a reading slump, or if I need a life pick-me-up, these books (plus Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark) are my go-to's.

Im currently reading the highlanders touch (dont have the author at hand) and its really good, very similar to the travel in time story you mentioned for a moment i thought it was the same book😅 loved Maya Banks too.
Hi! I am looking to get into Highlander Romances, but I find it a difficult genre to navigate when I don't want any abuse or rape (or lack of consent), no cheating/thoughts of cheating, and also no pain in connection to sex (like the "virgin on her wedding night always hurts" trope). That last point is where "Never Seduce a Scot" fell from favour for me (that is the only Highlander Romance I have tried). I also prefer low angst romances, and I love arranged marriage/marriage of convenience tropes. I also love reading about women learning to become strong ladies of the castle and being good at the business of running a castle and supply lines for possible wars and such. I know that last part isn't strictly romance, but if you know of a romance that possibly stretches into the wife becoming really good at her new job, that would be great. Oh wow, I wrote a whole paragraph on what I am looking for, but I am hoping you have some recommendations for me. Possibly an author I could trust to not have any of my no-go topics in their books. Perfectly fine if you draw a blank on this, just wanted to try!
I also highly recommend Hannah Howell. She’s been writing Scottish Highland romances for many years. My favorite is Highland Wolf. Trigger warnings for physical abuse and attempted sexual assault though.
Good selection. You should also try Surrender by Pamela Clare, The Highland guard series by Monica McCarty and all of McKinley McGregor...think but favorite was Born in sin.
I LOVED Lord Ian so so much that it totally shocked me! It hit so many of my hotspots and was only the second ever aristocracy HR that I read. Wouldn't call it a highlander romance though just because he is Scottish lol! TFS :)

And for highlander romances, I'm super surprised you didn't list Hannah Howell!!! She has a milllllllllllllion books featuring highlanders and they are awesome! The Karen Marie Moning highlander books are insanely good... and sexy, my god! I really enjoyed the Maya Banks books as well. Madness of Lord Mackenzie is also so good. Garwood is the only hard no of all the books. JG remains the only author I have stopped reading mid-book and threw said book in the trash. Hard no.
