Def one of the best videos for modern guitar players out there. Regardless of how anyone comes up with their ideas, the biggest thing is that it’s musical, and I love how you talked about wanting to just make the most pleasing sounds you can.
glad 2 hear it homie when it comes to production there are people more qualified than me to teach that stuff there's loads of good prod tutorials on youtube
Wow! you've shared so much knowledge in this vid, I seriously can't thank you enough. I should be going to bed but I think I'm going to stay up a bit longer cuz of this lol 😅
I was expecting this video for a long long time, i even wrote a comment on a short asking about your guitar technique and stuff (like many other people). Thanks for doing this, i wanted to participate in the mg3contest, but i had problems with my insecurities about my music production skill (i am a newbie in ableton), and i have been in many jazz schools since 14 yrs old (i am 22 right now) but i can't reach that edm, hyperpop, trap, etc. style of playing the guitar. I really hope one day be part of you guys, the modern guitar player nowadays are really the future to do great stuff in modern pop music. Greetings from Chile, if someone is from here lets make a community in Santiago o valparaiso wnes qls ❤❤
My only issue is that when I input the midi file and turn it to tabs on guitar pro it makes some note fret at (for instance) the 29th fret which is impossible
i suppose that particular example riff doesn't sound exactly like polyphia, but this method isn't reductionist. This method is a just a slightly modified version of how the riffs are actually written. The difference in process between me and Tim is not massive.
cool song really... but i'm still wonder, can you play your stuff live, your sound very digital, and in this lesson you showed 4 accords finally in raw, i would happy to hear your song like that. without hate dude, simply want to see your skill
hey bro dm me on insta i can send you some raw clips. my sound is very edited because i think it sounds better, but i can play these riffs decently well live.
Thankyou so much for this great video 🔥 May I ask if you use audio interface to record your guitar directly? Or you use mic to record sound from your amps? Answering would help me a lot. Thanks! Don't stop posting ❤
Thanks for this tutor. But damn. Idk why but when i upload the midi to tabs. Some of the notes is missing in the tab. Like its not shown. But on the sheet music i can see it. But its not being played in the tabs. Now shown. Any fix for this dude?
All due respect, writing a song with the idea of making it flashy is cringe. If the moment calls for intensity, then by all means, but often times, less is more.
telling a modern guitarist (especially polyphia inspired)not to aim for a flashy riff is like telling a heavy metal band not to do their cringy scream or a jazz guitarist not to use complex chords, its quite literally the staple of the genre. of course you can subjectively find it cringe but flashy is definitely the point
Thanks to Lalal.ai for sponsoring this video :)

your beats that u put behind your riffs are MAD good, another video like this one going into how you write your beats would be heat
agreeeeeeed

Thanks Bro. Do I need theory, if yes what would you recommend?
no you dont need theory
I seriously appreciate this. Your music is great and I look forward every week to your music. Your insane.
can you make a video on how to use tim henson's neural dsp plugin?
it's not that hard, you can just learn it
AGREE not how you get the notes, its WHAT U DO WITH THEM
My only issue is that when I input the midi file and turn it to tabs on guitar pro it makes some note fret at (for instance) the 29th fret which is impossible
i discuss this in step 4
Modern guitar for dummies!
i mean it doesn't really sound like polyphia though but i get you. really reductionist of how well composed some of their stuff really is.

Hi, can I ask which DAW are you using?
I love the step from MIDI to tab!!
I think it will save a lot of time
Thanks a lot for your video
ableton
glad you enjoyed

i use a interface and then put the amp sim in after
if you're specifically looking for that polyphia sound , you can see danny yau's vid on it
yeah but his method uses a lot of theory, so this method is probably preferable for a lot of people.
@@jamesstent yeah, I didn't think abt it
How to make beats?
there's lots of tutorials on youtube for that already
Thanks for this tutor. But damn. Idk why but when i upload the midi to tabs. Some of the notes is missing in the tab. Like its not shown. But on the sheet music i can see it. But its not being played in the tabs. Now shown. Any fix for this dude?
not sure bro, maybe you have to add them manually bro
Thank you for the tutorial
What DAW did you use?
ableton
Yo no entendí como creo la melodía 😐😐🫤🫤
Explícame bro, por qué no entiendo 😎🤙🏽🇲🇽

who hurt you bro
All due respect, writing a song with the idea of making it flashy is cringe. If the moment calls for intensity, then by all means, but often times, less is more.
agreed yes
so when i wanna make a more stripped back riff i will
and when i wanna make a flashy riff i will
