- FINALLY, I catch up with what's been going on with our narrowboat life amidst our first Summer holiday. It starts during the longest narrowboat trip we've ever done in one day and I talk about why we're living on it and what it's been like... where our stuff is...
AND, we do what we promised we would try this year and that is to travel to Lincoln along the River Trent from Keadby Lock, with the first stop being Torksey Lock.
FYI... if you're wondering, my name is Vikkie (AKA The Carpenter's Daughter) and I usually share easy how-to DIYs here on TH-cam 😉

How am I only just realising you have another channel lol loved this ..😍 Lincolnshire looks beautiful 😍 so can you search Flood zones in an area ? That's so interesting .. I look forward to seeing Lincoln I've heard it's a beautiful city 😍😍
Ha... I've never really publicised it as my videos here are infrequent. And yes, whenever you find a property, search the postcode on the gov planning website! It's been great for making informed decisions:

@@part-timenarrowboatlife2395 that's so great to know thanks 😁🙌🙌
I would put the house on stilts with that flooding
Yes, that's what future planning says in this area
Nice Alan Partridge impression! 🤣 At least there were no angry farmers about. Love this lifestyle, I can only dream.
I thought I'd seen this before , perhaps I haven't , very good anyway 🙂👍😊
Ha.. nope.. brand new. Only been back from Lincoln about 5 weeks :)
@@part-timenarrowboatlife2395 it's those stripey tops make me feel like it's a repeat 😂😉
Thank God good opening comments
You went right by my house at the end of my garden in Burringham. We're lucky, we've had the bank strengthened and raised.
As an American, I would love a house on the Trent. Sounds like a lovely place to land. But, I know nothing of it other than what I've seen in other narrow boating videos on TH-cam.
Thanks for watching :) It sounds and looks like an idyllic place to live, but many of the towns alongside it flood and flood defences seem to constantly get worked on.
@@part-timenarrowboatlife2395 Oh wow - that's a bummer about the flooding problems! Then again, it sounds like a lot of places in the south and Midwest continental US.
Mate you need a butty boat, go round as a mobile joiner .great video
I might need 5 butties 😅 the boat we passed in this video had a butty on the front :)
@@part-timenarrowboatlife2395 yes probably. So much stuff ! .. ps i watched this twice, only the second time i heard the A*** hole 😂
Your 2nd comment doesn't seem to be appearing, but I edited out a stronger word just before that 😅
I am from Lincoln & still live here. My parents had a narrowboat & moored it at Lincoln. I have been on The Trent many times to get on to the canal network. One day I would love to live on a narrowboat!
Lincoln is lovely and really miss it!! Did they used to moor it at Brayford Wharf?
@@part-timenarrowboatlife2395 yes. This was about 20 years ago. At the weekends we would go up to Saxilby, moor up for the night & then back to Lincoln on Sunday. Really miss it!
I'll have walked past their boat every morning going to Uni then 😂 And I know just the place! We stopped at Saxilby on the way back. Was so surreal visiting all these places by boat instead of just driving past. Was an amazing trip! I hope you get the boat you want :)
Passed my house ! 😎
Ooh.... where abouts is that?
@@part-timenarrowboatlife2395 West Stockwith
Nice place, couple of decent pubs, although I don't go out anymore (health reasons) but still a decent village. White Hart recently got new owners, couldn't tell you what it's like now but was excellent with old landlord.
Ahhhh, Stockwith is lovely! My in-laws run the Chesterfield Canal Boat Company which are moored in the West Stockwith basin 😀
