@@nathanfarnell833 YES! Larnell Lewis is a BEAST on drums. I would really enjoy seeing a breakdown of his playing. Even if it was just a breakdown of him on "What About Me?" with Snarky Puppy
Dude, all the little amazing edits at this point are just...Whatever Gabe... I KNOW RJ EDITS YOUR VIDEOS!... And the hand going across into Lukes frame? I mean come on... nice.... NICE.
Holy shit, your editor is really pushing the quality of those videos even higher, love the content and quality. A review of El Estepario Siberiano would be great, he also has a very unique and creative way of playing.
Mate . Vinnie is a beast drummer/musician . Luke is you tube drummer probably without any or few recorded albums in his life . Dont get me wrong,I admire anyone who has the will to explore and dedicate one self to an instrument, but calling you tube drummer a beast...c mon mate .
As a very very beginner drummer, it’s just so insane to me that you can look at a fill that fast and be like “yeah he’s doing this stick pattern with this type of paradiddle. Here’s how.” When in my eyes it’s just a bunch of sounds flowing really well together and sounds awesome and super hard lmao. Crazy how you can pick that stuff apart and then mimic it so easily.
My favourite part about Luke's drumming is definitely what I consider he does best and what gives all his stuff that incredible touch, the way he places the silences on everything he plays.
Sick video and awesome playing as always but man whoever edits these videos is working hard!!!!! So many cool subtle transitions in every single video!
Yes, 20” A custom (10 years), bottom hat 15” (I had it for about 12 years, when I bought it looked about 10+ never been cleaned), and it’s matching ride recently started to crack as well.
Last cymbal I cracked was a low end 20 inch Sabian ride. I used it as a crash for a couple months and then just busted it up..now I use it as a chill low reso ride..
Loved that you put what you were doing at 18 video in there, very humble!! Loved the video! Editing and quality has grown expediently, contents always good,DBO 🤘
Break down Aric Improta - copper wasp.. he does this thing where he hits his sticks together right after the intro. He's a monster lol but I love your ability to break this stuff down! Your the man and yes I signed up for the classes! Thank you
My signature sound was using Evens ebony drum heads on the bottom of the toms and Evens G2's on the top. It gave it a unique thicc sound. I did this back in 2003 and kept it till 2009. There is a video of it here on youtube but the fella that recorded it had the gains to high and clipped a lot. I had to work some magic in Sonar 4 to get rid of the clipping and it came out some what ok. If you did want to listen to it I could link the video. P.S. there were mistakes made on my part in the recording were I messed up the chorus on a miss hit. Someone walked in the door and it threw me off.
Last one I cracked thankfully wasn’t too expensive but I do be loving how it sounds for the cost. The 16” Classics Custom Dark Trash China gets too much love usually from me.
One of the best drum covers that Luke played in my opinion was for thriller by Michael Jackson it was soo unique!! And btw 6 years past since I broke a 15" crash by paiste I replaced it with an 18" vintage crash cymbal also by Paiste and since then I didn't break any cymbal!
I know you kinda touched on the tendinitis fill but could you break it down just like the justin bieber monster fill? Drumeo kinda has it already tabbed on his lesson he does.
Besides the content and analyse which are excellent, the edition of the video is golden!! Kudos on this! Oh and you’re snare tone is badass!! I officially hate you now for being so good 😂
At this time I'm cash strapped as we all are, so I haven't cracked one in yrs. The last one I cracked back in the day, was one of my Zildjian custom K crashes. I had 2 of them at the time, and i remember playing the gig and knowing exactly when it happened. I was upset needless to say cause I only had just bought them weeks before. This was in 1997 and I paid $150 a piece for them back then. But I fixed the cracked so it wouldn't get worse and used it for yrs after.
Well if there's anytime to crack a cymbal, that's at least the coolest time! So glad you are enjoying DBO Academy Elijah!! I love having you be a part of it!
Hey Gabe... What about guys that uses one pedal.... 😐. Can we perform the last fill with one pedal??? 😅 I really love that last one but just got one pedal

This was great. Like is a rad drummer and his playing is unique Next I'd say Ray Luzier. His playing is technical yet unique. Has brought Bjorn to a new level even on older songs by David. He basically made me like Korn again.
I love that you’ve done Luke Holland. Been listening to and watching his stuff since his The Word Alive days. (I’d love it if you broke down some of the stuff in their song Sellout)
