Thank you dustin for this video! I bought it already. It is a great lens for this price. 😊 Hopefully we will see a 18 or 23mm lens from this series in 2025. Wish you all the best and some wonderful christmas days. Greets Erik
I feel like it makes sense on Sony or Nikon APS-C, where budget standard lenses are missing, but the XC35/2 from Fuji is so cheap, or the XF35/2 offers a massive jump in build quality. But this lens' optical performance does seem pretty dang good.
Good detailed review. I'm toying with the idea of selling the Fujinon XF 35mm f/2 and the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 to get this Viltrox. I still have many doubts, like the light transmission, AF with older Fuji bodies, sharpness and bokeh comparisons. So I've just bought one, then I can do all the comparisons I want and decide. But I hope it's as good as I'm expecting. Would end up with just one fast in-between 35mm and have spare money to play around.
@@benblitzkrieg yes half stop faster aperture, metal mount and the design of the lens. The XF35mm looks ugly. I have the Viltrox 56mm and i really like it.
This is the review I watch after Frost and Philip reeve. All you 3 need a crossover
Great detailed review. Which would you prefer XF 35 f2 or the Viltrox 35 1.7?
The only reviewer I trust 📸

This one is finally good enough that I might consider it over the Fuji.

Was really looking forward to this but at that price the XC35mmF2 is a very good alternative
Actually I might sell my XC35mm f2 for the Viltrox
@@MaxR. for what reason? Better build quality? Or the 1/2 stop faster aperture?

How about the Meike 33mm F1.4 for Fujifilm? Do you have plan for it? Thanks!
No plans at the moment.
Hope your dog is enjoying his exercise on the dog run (outside your window) 🏃♂️ Thank you for the review. Take care.
Wow I’m surprised at how poorly the AF worked on Fuji. As you suspected it’s quite slick on Sony!
nice lens, it's a shame that viltrox doesn't make af lenses for micro four thirds....a 25 1.4 would be a success....
I love the look of this lens, but is it better than the TTArtisan? For $125, the TT is compact, metal, and budget-friendly. Tough choice.
The Viltrox is noticeably sharper. I will do a head to head video, as I’ve shot a number of comparisons already.
Busy man.
