Thanks for this video. I made mine today and I couldn’t be more pleased. They are perfect. A couple things I did differently. I made a paper pattern of just the window and added 1 1/2” as you did, but then simply turned up 1/2” over some cotton upholstery cording. I zig zagged both the screen and cording. I did use two different widths as you suggested but I didn’t gather the edge or make a casing. Quick and seems just as effective.
Very cool, sounds much simpler (and now that I think of it you cant even see the edge when it is in the window) 🤦♀️ Could you send me a picture? averysmallcampervan @ gmail (dot) com, I'd love to include it in a follow up video!
I have screens for all my windows but the back side ones... a Big thank you for posting this. I don't have to think of a way to do it..... you did that for me. when I was up in Alaska I just left them closed but some times you need the ventilation. you do such a great job on your van thank you again!
Glad it helped! Be prepared to make a few test ones, takes a bit of finagling to get a good fit. The first set I made last year didn't have the cord along the bottom, so I could just keep adding bits of netting where it was too small. They worked fine, I just wanted to get the perfect! ;-)
@@averysmallcampervan I have a window shade with a piece of cardboard inside that I just POP into the window so I figured I could use that for a pattern. I'm glad to hear that it wasn't perfect the fist time, it gives me hope that if I try enough mine will be "good enough" LOL
Great video! Thank you for the instructions! Just in time for summer. I shared it in a facebook group of all women van dwellers. I'm sure it will come in handy for many of us
I love this design and the fact that these screens can be left in. Can you still use window shades with the screens on? I'm speaking of the reflectix, etc., type covers we all use for blocking light when we sleep in the van.
I have several playlists that I share with fb van pages, Ive added several of your videos to the lists, this idea would work for several car campers as well as minivans etc
Ok this was pure beauty in motion to watch for camping folk . I Added it to my library for dream netting ! Right now I’m using the magnet method ( not beautiful lol ) . ❤️ your videos girl !
I like the concept but am sewing machine challenged. Was thinking about using a shoestring and then stapling it at the outer edges instead of sewing. Do you think that will hold? Thanks for sharing.
Hi! I’m loving your channel SO much! I’m curious as to why you did one side wider than the other for cording? And is the cording just to help hold it in place after stuffing?
If I am understanding your question correctly : the cording is thicker on the top of the window because the gap between the window and the headliner is much looser than the gap between the window and the plastic at the bottom. I could actually have gone with even thicker cording at the top.
I'll have to think about that. With camping finally starting around here I don't know when I'll have time. But send me your email at averysmallcampervan (at) gmail (dot) com and I'll see what I can do.
Excellent video. I have crude screens on my front windows and one side door. Yours are very professional looking!! When you put your perforated window shading on (in a previous video) did you put it on the inside or the outside? I have some on the outside of my back window, but would actually prefer them on the inside of my side windows. I wasn't sure if they would work like that. Thank you for this great video. 💜
Thanks for all the compliments - I am trying to eventually have everything at a "professional" look level :-) I think you are mixing me up with another video: I don't have perforated window shading on the van. What I do have is window tint, which goes on the inside of the window. I'll be doing a video about that soon (i hope!)
a very small camper van ... oh dear! All this time I thought it was your video. But maybe I just thought the tint was perforated. Would love to see a video on how you did your tinting. Thank you!
@@kernlee7 I will be going over the pros and cons of tinting in a video very soon. Lots of pros for having the tint - lots of cons on doing it yourself.
You never cease to amaze us with your skills. That was an excellent result and as usual so well filmed and narrated. 🙂🤝
Thank you so much 😀
I know! I love her videos ❤️

Thanks - those back screens are really a game changer for van dwellers - much easier than the other windows
Brilliant and easy directions!
OUTSTANDING! I was thinking of making the same for my rear windows.😍 Thanks for sharing
Go for it! They really are a pleasure to have
This is amazing! Thank you so much for sharing this. I've saved it to a playlist, and will share it. Hope that helps your channel grow! 🥀
Not even a minute in and I'm already like TOO MUCH WORK, lol. But I do applaud the ingenuity and crafty-ness!
But for me this is a 2 pronged hobby - making things for the van and camping in the van!
Wow! I just discovered your channel. You are soooo good at making things! You have given me a lot of ideas to try!
You are brilliant 💐👑✨
You amaze me. Every time.
Thanks so much!

Nice job and very clean looking. Definitely possess better sewing skills than me!
practice, practice, practice! We all have different skills

Magnets do the job of keeping the skeeters out, which is the important part!
ILL BUY ONE!
Incredible! Thank you!
I am like and commenting bc this is brilliant!!!!
Amazing! Will you make a pair for me??? Seriously. Your skill is superior, mine non-existent.
Sorry, but no.
Well done and thank you! Gives me ideas to play with for how I'm going to do the screens on my van windows.
Glad to help - good luck with your build
You are amazing!
Wow, thank you! Glad you like the video

Thank you! Glad you liked it
a very small camper van ~ You did so well to make those. I am totally intimidated to even attempt that. But man, I wish we could buy them.
Genius!
Make these to sell. I'm sure many would buy them. I sure would . I've been looking for this .
AMAZING!
Thanks!
THANK YOU will do it on my camperized seat ibiza 3 doors! Yes, 3 doors you have read right ^^!
Glad I could help!
Pretty cool. Would you sell these? I am thinking about buy the same Dodge Grand Caravan for minivan camping
I've thought about it but don't have the timefor it right now.
