In the autumn of 1991, a small group of Croatian soldiers go on patrol in an improvised armored vehicle. Soon after that they would get ambushed and their vehicle would get destroyed, in that situation they were forced to hide in a nearby house. Whilst stationed in that house they would get attacked by rebel Serbs, Serbian Special Forces and the JNA (Yugoslav People's Army, also reffered to as Yugoslavian National Army). Their resistance to the attackers would last 24 hours whilst their fellow combatants would attempt to try and get them out of there. The movie and story is based on true events which happened during the Croatian War of Independence.

A Balkan Alamo. Bullets flying everywhere. Those very brave men put up one hell of a hell of a fight. This movie is well worth the watch.

The dialogue in this movie is about the most realistic I have heard between soldiers. The contact drills we were taught were also properly re-enacted. So overall, a very good movie.

Dear William, The dubbers are uncoordinated with the acting. The dialogue of the writer's, protagonist's, compounded by the movie's uncoordinated directing, diminishes the pathos, barely discernible. A more controlled timing would have improved it, like in that latest movie of, All quiet on the Western Front. Google it. it's the newest version. Having said that, the combat situations, without dialogue, are absorbing. There are parts of it I like, or I wouldn't be watching. Like you William, in a way; I will not watch, See This, more than that one time. Nor would I watch, The Labyrinth, again. You be well! Yours, Reed

The dialogue itself does seem to be accurate in the context of the film, but I do wish that they had dubbed it in English not American English, the variety of accents make it sound like a spoof movie not a movie that was based in truth.
Good realistic war movie but very heavy. Had to watch it over several days in stages.
Very entertaining, well acted, excellent graphics for the time.
I had to watch the first three minutes a few times, brilliant drone footage without any editing, unheard of these days.
Or it could be brilliant editing of drone footage, could it not?. Not that I disagree, very nicely done.

Cleaver move to get so many men into a trapped and so many men killed and injured, including the men from rescue teams. And nothing is really achieved. Great victory, we conquered an old shitty house for a while.
Very nice movie, does this exist in more colourful format? Feels so grey and dreary when Croatia is full of colours even in colder seasons.

The delay of the apex soldiers in the military sometimes is not good towards the front-liners. Inability to make decision but rather they sit in the office drinking cafe while soldiers are dying.

I thought the Croatian army was supplied by Germany and Helmet Cole at the time Germany was reunited we never forget the past when Croatia stoud by the Germans the only ones. But this time might have been different from later I'm not sure. But id like to see peace ☮️ for all you guys Serbs as well. I have friends from both places and there good guys All of them. It was beginning of the war, Croatia had no Army or weaponry. Croatia was under embargo of buying guns, their forces was mainly made out of volunteers and police. While from the other side, rebel Serbs were heavily armed and supported from JNA ( Yugoslav National Army ).
Before I get into the film properly I think I should say that I had friends and comrades in the region during the Balkans war (not the war in the early 1900s/WWI) of 1991+, and the little information that they would feel able to talk about shocked those of us who were not there, the senseless ethnic violence and genocide was brutal and horrific and I have no reason to doubt them, and when the Kosovo war/crisis started I was on the ground and in the air, and some of the atrocities that I was witness to the aftermath was disturbing, not as horrific as the earlier war but bad enough, I just hope this doesn’t bring back those memories, just have to keep telling myself it is just a movie.
As much as I think this could be a good film I’m sorry to say that it being dubbed in American English isn’t good at all, perhaps it could have been dubbed by English speaking local inhabitants as that would have given it a bit of nuance, or at a push English English, best of all would have been just to use subtitles. If I hear one more slurp or disgusting sounds while they are eating I will have to stop watching.
Movie in its original form is called number 55 its also historical event during croatian serbian war man you could just slap some subtitles dont need to put voices its not natural this is what ruin movie..
