Thank you so much for the kind words! The landscapes of Japan keep calling out to us and we’ve been very lucky to have been able to make repeat visits. Hoping for another trip later this year!

Really enjoyed that, great to see a place so different from my own, and you seem to have a good balance with cycling and exploring 😊

Glad you liked it! We definitely like exploring as much as the cycling, even if it is a regular route 😊

🎉🥳 Awesome to see the two of you back in Japan! I followed along with your last Japan cycle trip, and actually ended up going (on a roadtrip) but still, the route was inspired by you guys. 😂 Maybe one day I'll cycle it! Excited to see this trip. Enjoy. 🥰 🚴‍♀️🚴

That’s wonderful to hear! Great for roadtrips but I’d say Japan is definitely one of those countries you should experience by bike ☺️🙌

Love your videos, my son and I have just finished a ride through Shikoku which I used your videos for inspiration.
Are you back in Japan 🇯🇵 again if so I’m jealous.
    Safe travels.

So happy to know that the both of you had a wonderful journey through Shikoku! We were recently in Japan again this past November and finally gathered some time to piece together videos from the trip. A few more coming!

Man, you guys are stylin' it with those almost tailor fitting outfits! I'd say looser clothing (especially top) is a bit warmer but if you had winter gear and looks that good, pfft! Id shop where you shop!
Went its length in 2017 and Japan is fantastic and memorable for it's vistas. Only thing is your tyres. I'm sure they gave you a lot of compliance/comfort but I think with the state of Japans roads you only need 35-38mm max width. Lighter, quicker, easier to climb. What cams were you using? the audio and resolution were great!

We loved our Isadore thermals and the fabric tech kept us warm and comfortable without the bulk! And interestingly the roads that we took were very far from perfect and made us really thankful that we were on wider 650b rubber. Plenty of potholes, gravel, broken tarmac, and missing sections altogether through some of the more obscure country roads, but what a fantastic experience it was! For cameras, we were switching between an older GoPro 11 and an iPhone 15 without any add ons - quite a barebones setup 😅

@@bikeridingtales Naruhodo!, ok makes more sense 650B, optical illusion on my part and yeah, the urban roads you travelled on justify it especially with seismic activity and prioritizing road work. I did encounter some bad roads with the main throughway into the Shimonoseki tunnel being akin to the Cross Bronx expressway! I'd love to return and tour the Western coastline up to Niigata but I'm sure the recent earthquake probably has a lot of road and tunnel closures. 😟 Still, the omotenashi might even make the detours worth it.

Wow.... such beautiful scenes (AND THE FOOD!!). Just curious... do you guys speak any Japanese or do you have a guide tagging along? Thanks for the vid. Definitely on my to-do list now. :)

We do everything on our own actually! We speak perhaps a combined total of 100 words in the Japanese vocabulary, which is very little. With that said, Google Translate has been fantastic and extremely helpful, and all the people we’ve met along the way have been wonderful!
