    I'm sure that "commenters" who're always looking to spend your money to "do it right" get under your skin after a while. I spent 42 years in a job where everyone "knows how to do it better than those who do it," but when "the biological waste material was hitting the wind creating device" were nowhere to be found. Don't let them bug you too much, most of them couldn't do what you do. I enjoy watching someone who seems to know what he's doing, and knows a whole lot more than I do about operating equipment. Thanks for the videos.

    I calculate you dug out 400 cu. yds in one day - that's very good for a small excavator - I dig out 500 cu. yd basements in a half day - with a larger machine obviously plus a grade/shovel man.

      @Neal O'Russa...I have to ask you a few questions and you, like everyone else who has been ask a similiar question, know the answer, just admit it to yourself!
      1) "Do you really want to do excavation work?"
      2) "Are you less than 45 years old?"
      3) "Are you bodily able to do the work?"
      4) "Are you finacially able to live with a varying (or very little) income for 5 or more years?"
      5) "Can you tolerate strong competition?"
      6) "Can your family and friends tolerate your foul moods until you get your business established?"
      If you answered "yes" to these questions jump in with both feet and don't look back!

    • @NealORussa

      @@arkansas1336
      1) I really want to work for myself and I'm good at excavation work.
      2) yes, by 11 years
      3) yes
      4) I've been in business over 4 years and I'm now doing over 60k in annual revenue working only weekends and taking vacation days from my real job. If I went full time I would get my septic license to increase workload, there are only 7 licensed installers in my entire county currently. I also have many contacts with local home builders who want to use me more if i worked weekdays.
      5) yes I encourage competition and happy to see others succeed in what they enjoy doing.
      6) I feel like I've already been through the worst of establish stage.
      My main issue is that I'm registered professional engineer and I have a very good and fairly flexible day job. But my family has a history of business ownership and working for themselves and I have those same aspirations.

I'm using a little tb025 to dig out my own 1200sqft crawlspace. having to remove a layer of clay and hardpan but then under that it's nice clean sand with a few small rocks which im picking out with my bucket and claw, and setting to the side. they'll come in handy later with landscaping. my takeuchi is definitely more tired than yours and much smaller, but she's rising to the challenge.

    Nice work! That's a great site to dig down another 18-24", pour a 4" insulated conc. slab and conc. insulated foundation walls then use that as a crawl space AND as a plenum for all HVAC. That system works like a charm and has no ductwork except a return to the air handlers. It's a little more up front costs but makes a house very comfortable year around.
    I hope they build a "6-8 inch perimeter french drain", at the top of footings but better if at bottom of footings, to a daylight surface. This ia another thing that adds to the length of life to the home AND the human occupants.

    I don't understand the purpose of digging crawlspace? Wouldn't you want the dirt in the crawl space higher so it wouldn't retain water?

    • @eliteearthworksllc
      @eliteearthworksllc  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need the room in the crawl space for the heating and air duct. Plus it needs room for air under the house. They normal put in rock in the crawl space along with a sump pump to get rid of the water

    • @brianbabb6666
      @brianbabb6666 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is more a question for the builder but, why would you not raise the house instead? I have been under dozens of homes and everyone of them is a muddy wet mess because it was done at ground level and retains water because dirt was pushed up to outside trying to get drainage away. The rock hurts as you have to crawl on it under house and is still going to hold ground water. Most homes in my area are concrete slab but there are some older homes with crawl space.

    • @eliteearthworksllc
      @eliteearthworksllc  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s just how crawl spaces are. The newer homes are on a slab but they wanted a crawl space. If you get the drainage right it shouldn’t be a problem under the house

    • @eliteearthworksllc

      Dig everything to the depth I need and work my way to one side. Then I crawl out and finish digging out that corner.
