This convinced me to buy the game, but it took ten years after I initially bought Luigi's Mansion. I remember repeatedly watching this trailer as a kid, being fascinated by the music and the uniqueness of it.
When I played Luigi's Mansion and messed in the options menu. I stumbled upon this trailer and the moment I watched it, I asked if I could get it. A few months later in late December of 2002 I got the game and love the series ever since :D.
This feels like some sort of lost media. Like, an alternative universe where Pikmin got cancelled because of lack of progress, and this is a glimpse of the game's state before cancellation. It's weird to think about...
Its so fun to look back on trailers like this, where they are literally MONTHS before the games initial launch date, and yet there are so many little differences that it feels like an alternate version. Things like how the day counter is in the bottom of the screen not the top, or how the Distant Spring has no sky box. Its weird to think that this game was nearing completion at the time, and yet it was still so different from the game we got.
Used to watch this all the time in the game as a kid man I loved when games had other games trailers in them the early 2000’s has a lot of games that did that
Wow this takes me back. I remember when i was really little i would be so bad at Luigis Mansion i would just mess around in the menus and watch this trailer over and over. Good memories
"hey uh, while you're here looking at these options, watch a pikmin trailer?" there's something super goofy about that and i love it not gonna happen because all these companies have learned to use the internet, but imagine if new games did this. imagine if our first footage of metroid dread was a trailer hidden in warioware get it together
I'll admit an embarrassing secret to you all. When I was 9 or 10 years old, and I first saw the name of the trailer, I honest to god called it "Pimpkin" out loud. Thankfully, I wasn't brought into question by my parents, but I'm certain my mom might have been thinking "What the fuck has that boy been seeing?", even if she had no visible reaction. What? I was a dumb child that knew only about a quarter about reading as I do now.
This trailer alone had me so interested in Pikmin, I finally emulated Pikmin 2 after years of watching Chuggaaconroy play both Pikmin 1 and 2, I own 3 now, and I definitely plan to check out 4
When I was little, I thought the astronaut from pikmin was professor E. Gadd from the Mario series. Hair looks similar, as does they’re head and they’re nose. 💀
@superluigi132 i don't really see the point in doing it, cause for one thing there are like hundreds of ppl that did a luigi's mansion walkthrough / LP here on youtube & it's kinda a old game so just about everything is done.
NGL i would love to see more Nintendo games have sneak peek/trailers of their upcoming games in other games (like for example,a Sneak Peek of Super Smash Bros for 3DS and Wii U in Pikmin 3)
@HamTacoDerp cry harder and cope on the playstation portal subreddit there instead of over here because you couldn't make a difference on youtube whiny Nintendo switch fanboy baby lmao 200 is actually cheap while Nintendo switch is stuck with the same underpowered hardware and expensive than the ps portal as well as the steam deck haha
@HamTacoDerp hahaha nice deleting my comments because you were wrong and defeated that sony isn't giving up on the handheld market aka PS Portal lmaooooooooooooooo

Super weird
Good thing we didn't live in that alternate universe
I remember watching that trailer over and over again as a kid.
So, Luigi's Mansion is technically the first appearance of Olimar and the Pikmin.
Btw I love both, Luigi's Mansion and Pikmin
There were trailers before this though. There was a full gameplay demonstration at E3 2001
@@lilorangefella I mean first appearance in a released game
@@BahuschBahusch In that case then yeah this is the first appearance
I am with you since both games are the poster boys for the GameCube back when it first launched in Fall 2001

Even sooner than that. Pikmin released only 41 days after Luigi's Mansion.
Well the distant springs had a sunset skybox but not the morning and afternoon skybox in the trailer for the game
If you're here, watching this obscure clip, you are a real OG
Used to watch this all the time in the game as a kid man I loved when games had other games trailers in them the early 2000’s has a lot of games that did that
Most of these scenes were taken at night which means the pikmin game was in its early developments
It looks like bad lighting and a black skybox to me
Wow this takes me back. I remember when i was really little i would be so bad at Luigis Mansion i would just mess around in the menus and watch this trailer over and over. Good memories
This made buy the game as a kid.
One of the best decisions I ever made.
Luigi's Mansion and Pikmin. Two of my favorite games of all time =)
"hey uh, while you're here looking at these options, watch a pikmin trailer?" there's something super goofy about that and i love it
not gonna happen because all these companies have learned to use the internet, but imagine if new games did this. imagine if our first footage of metroid dread was a trailer hidden in warioware get it together
Just imagine the Sneak Peek/Trailer for Super Mario Galaxy in Twilight Princess
Platinum games put a bayonetta origins cereza demo in bayonetta 3
Imagine if blowhogs had that big of knockback in the final game
Jesus, imagine if Withering blowhogs had that knockback.
I am definitely gonna despise those enemies more than the infamous Gatling Groinks from Pikmin 2

So cool to see smith so nostalgic!!!
I remember watching this so much back when I was young
seeing this trailer as a kid made me to scared to buy the game but when they got ported to switch i finally played them and loved the games
This is a fever dream
Fr and I love it
Oh man how I wish I could go back and experience this for the first time all over again.
I remember this lol
when i was a kid and when i first saw this trailer, at the end of it i though that it was multiplayer
same, that's actually what had me really interested in it
Ah yes, I remember the “P I K M I N”
1:44 This part terrifies me.
This is so nostalgic, I remember that did this with DvDs and bluerays... God I missed that time. It's so... Interesting.
I remember seeing this as a little kid and thinking i was playing a different version of luigi's mansion XD
This trailer alone had me so interested in Pikmin, I finally emulated Pikmin 2 after years of watching Chuggaaconroy play both Pikmin 1 and 2, I own 3 now, and I definitely plan to check out 4
But didn't you played Pikmin 1?
Am I the only one who got scared as a kid stumbling onto this trailer late at night?
oh my god I completely forgot about this, I feel like a core memory has just unlocked
I watched this trailer so much as a kid
Man all the memories back when these ganes were brand new. Man i miss those days
When I was little, I thought the astronaut from pikmin was professor E. Gadd from the Mario series. Hair looks similar, as does they’re head and they’re nose. 💀
Ture Pikmin players know about this one
@superluigi132 i don't really see the point in doing it, cause for one thing there are like hundreds of ppl that did a luigi's mansion walkthrough / LP here on youtube & it's kinda a old game so just about everything is done.
i was so addicted to this

Legendary
FUN FACT: This trailer doesn't appear in the 3DS version of Luigi's Mansion
I saw that trailer in the game but I never actually wanted to buy that game.

U alive channel owner?
Pikmin is better then Luigi’s Mansion in my personal opinion
I really like both but I respect your opinion
Playstation portal isn't going nowhere. Try to accept defeat kid 😂😂😂
You're right it isn't going anywhere, because it needs internet to do anything. Accept that your portal is a overpriced streaming only device.

the one Nintendo game no one cares about
damn that has got to be the stupidest take ive seen in a long time
“I do not like game nor do I know anything about it so it must be bad and everyone else must think it’s bad” 🤡🤡🤡
your never PIaying pikmin
