Producers and actors had to take a shot which in many cases changed their lives forever. However, many shows like this one went right to the waste basket for obvious reasons. Nevertheless, the poster of this channel has struck gold and shared it with those of us who are interested in these shows that were "pitched and produced" but never picked up. Thanks for this great channel.
Not true. These allegations were never proven. It was a largely made up campaign against him by Sharon’s manager who didnt want her tied down to anyone. The contract she subsequently signed forbid her from becoming publicly involved or engaged with anyone for the good of her career.
it's hard to make a succesful tv show when you have a man that's only popular in gilligan's island, like max bear jr acting career was already dead after the TV show beverly hillbilies, it's like you're career is dead after a hit show due to you're looks, people will always remember you for that hit show, and the rest of you're career is down the toilet.
I always like Warren Berlinger, shame this show wasn't picked up. Warren is like a very cute William Shatner, I see Linda Kaye Henning, who played the mother, she looks familiar but I can't place the name?
@@eckankar7756 Sorry. Misunderstood your question. No idea about the mother. But I do recognize Philippe Forquet, who had just come off of The Young Rebels, as Carl the finance.
The reason why the Scared Stiff comedy series is such a big deal is that it's another one of those post-Gilligan's Island phases for Bob Denver. 🏝 🤣 😆 😂 😄 🤔 🏝
@LoriKasprzak-kc7xc I never cared to bother to go into details about who Bob Denver's sons and daughters were at first. It was kept secret from me. As much as I never knew who Jim Backus' wife was in reality. I was thinking about creating a Gilligan's Planet comic book series that features real-life people who make these cameo appearances in the comic book series. It's people who are like Brock Davenport, Richard Baynard, Chris Sefloogue, and Mila Smith, who would make these cameo appearances. I've also added one extra character for the Gilligan's Planet comic book series. That's the 5 ft. 6 long straight white blonde hair crystal blue eye black lady named Teresa Dortch. She looks like the black Stephanie Courtney, who does all of these Progressive TV commercials. She's supposed to be a drug store clerk who's is supposed to be Professor Roy Hinckley's roommate. Sometimes, she bosses around Willie Gilligan. She has the brains of this outfit. 🧠 ⚫️ 🐈⬛️ ◼️ ⬛️ ♟️ ▪️ ⚫️ 👁 🧐 🥽 🙄 🙈 🤩 👁 🩵 🔮 👱🏻♀️ 👸 👱♂️ 🤔 😕 😅 😪 🤣 😂 🤔
The combination of Bob Denver & Warren Berlinger is interesting, but this vehicle destroyed any potential real comedy. Probably did help Garry Marshall hone his comedy writing skills.
@@LoriKasprzak-kc7xc, the truth of that is, Denver was typecast right from the beginning due to _The Many Loves Of Dobie Gillis_ & _Gilligan's Island_ , which set him up as this rubbishy guy (even in _Far Out Space Nuts_ , he was playing the same kind of character.)

I was looking for something new (to me anyways) and FUN to watch for Halloween. It was cool seeing Bob Denver in another role I never knew he played. The show was pretty bad. I can see why it never got picked up, but thanks for sharing. 🙂 Happy Halloween everyone! 🎃 👻
Never heard of this one it could have worked as a Saturday Morning show for kids there were some Live Action shows that aired on Saturday Mornings back then.
Not the best, but you can tell the actors were trying with the material that they had. Abbott and Costello vibe. It was just annoying how the Austin guy kept saying "I got it!" Bob Denver still in his "Gilligan" persona somewhat, just explained as him being an absent-minded professor. Meant to be a mystery of the week comedy with a horror twist. I'm thinking that the network was thinking "where can we fit this in our lineup?" and just gave up.
This seems very familiar. Was it ever aired? I have a vague recollection of being excited about a new show with Bob Denver, who I loved when I was small. Maybe I heard about it?

I saw an old interview where he did mention this.

Nice to see Bob Denver play a genius for once.
He was pretty bookish in real life.
@@willgray7272I read somewhere that he was a teacher before becoming an actor.
I heard him interviewed on NPR and he was very well spoken, well read, and intelligent.

Interesting that Denver got yet another series after The Good Guys.
He didn't really get this one. It does mention, above, that this was an "unsold" pilot. In other words, he did NOT get the series.

Could have called it Kill- again's island
Written by Gary Marshall
Extremely interesting casting choices, and the premise ALMOST seems plausible, but the writing? Typically bad Garry Marshall/Larry Belson.

This seems to have the same premise as The Ghostbusters tv series which ran a couple years later.
