I've got Madonna's video collection on DVDs ("Celebration") and you watch through a collection of pop video masterpieces. Then suddenly towards the end of disc 1 we have Justify My Love and then it gets even deeper and darker with Erotica and it seems so out of kilter with everything else. Despite what people used to say, Madonna wasn't truly shocking. And some of the stuff was shocking only in America, for example Madonna kissing a black saint in Like a Prayer. I had no idea stuff like that was controversial on the other side of the Atlantic. It all seems so strange. The only stuff that shocked me in her DVDs was the Justify My Love (not so much shocking but a giant change of tone!) and then Erotica which was very arty, beautifully shot and done tongue in cheek but most of her young school and college age audience wouldn't have taken it that way. When I first saw Erotica aged about 20 the video seemed dark and spooky and the S&M sex references would have been outside her young audience’s range of experience ~ more “eew!” then “ooh!”
Her behavior is what got her where she is today. She broke the barriers for every woman to express their erotic side. She continually had to evolve herself. Bad girl good girl throughout her career. Her children calmed her down a little bit. I love her , have from day one on American Bandstand 💜💙😊

Pepsi did actually air it last year finally, and even credited her talent and basically apologized. Which was nice. Madonna posted the video. Her sense of humor is amazing, seriously she makes me laugh so much with her puns and jokes. The letterman award thing was funny. I bet she would be so fun to hang out with, or even just to relax and chat with about life. Also, I remember watching the VMAs live that night and Courtney love interrupting Madonna's interview was not even really a big deal until years later, barely anyone noticed at the time.

Pepsi did actually air it last year finally, and even credited her talent and basically apologized. Which was nice. Madonna posted the video. Her sense of humor is amazing, seriously she makes me laugh so much with her puns and jokes. The letterman award thing was funny. I bet she would be so fun to hang out with, or even just to relax and chat with about life. Also, I remember watching the VMAs live that night and Courtney love interrupting Madonna's interview was not even really a big deal until years later, barely anyone noticed at the time.
@Madonna 💓❤️ I think when I was around thirteen, I went to church camp with a friend of mine and our group decided to do a rendition of Sally Jesse Raphael where I played Madonna 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰. My little, flat chested self, wearing basic low cut back swim suit with some jean shorts. I love Madonna so much that even then I knew so much about her music LOL and the words to most of her songs. Everything was great until this one guy, teen or councilor I can't remember 😅, asked something like what was "Like A Virgin" about. Are what gave me the idea for it or whatever. That was a super young teens you can guess the look for some of the adults with what they thought I was going to say 😈. When I turned it into a first time after finding Jesus thing. I don't think that they realize that you could take something that was seemingly so ... Adult, and turn it into something so clean and innocent ❤️🥰💓🥰. But by the end of it I got in trouble when we were leaving because I had written something silly in marker on our cabin wall. "I once here, but now I'm gone. I left my name to carry on. Those who knew me knew me well, those who didn't can kiss all my gay dancers" since I wasn't raised in the ignorance that homosexuality or lesbian was wrong, I didn't realize the taboo behind it 😁😁😁lol She is truly an AMAZING ARTIST AND WOMAN 😭❤️
