Robert Lassila Give NIN's "The Fragile" a try with a good set of 'phones. If it's not too dark for you it may just do the trick, as NOBODY in rock is more talented than TR. For starters check out "Just Like You Imagined" and "Beside You In Time." Truly a different level.
+S.A. Hogan I listened to those and there isn't much talent in playing the same beat in one cord through most of the tune. That one song had pretty good drums though

In my time of dying, want nobody to mourn All I want for you to do is take my body home Well, well, well, so I can die easy (x2) Jesus, gonna make up my dyin' bed. Meet me, Jesus, meet me. Meet me in the middle of the air If my wings should fail me, Lord. Please meet me with another pair Well, well, well, so I can die easy (x2) Jesus, gonna make up.. somebody, somebody... Jesus gonna make up... Jesus gonna make you my dyin' bed Oh, Saint Peter, at the gates of heaven... Won't you let me in I never did no harm. I never did no wrong Oh, Gabriel, let me blow your horn. Let me blow your horn Oh, I never did, did no harm. I've only been this young once. I never thought I'd do anybody no wrong No, not once. Oh, I did somebody some good. Somebody some good... Oh, did somebody some good. I must have did somebody some good... Oh, I believe I did I see the smiling faces I know I must have left some traces And I see them in the streets And I see them in the field And I hear them shouting under my feet And I know it's got to be real Oh, Lord, deliver me All the wrong I've done You can deliver me, Lord I only wanted to have some fun. A true masterpiece when it come to music...the lyrics and the composition of the music to fit with the storyline, how they all fit perfectly together, something that is rarely found anymore in today's music. I'll never forget my 10th grade English teacher, Mr. Hopkins (Neptune HS) using this song to get us into analyzing poetry and music composition, and this was one of the songs he used in that class.
Interesting, thanks. I have wondered about that area of NJ, perhaps even more, the small town of "Atlantic Highlands", and that area. ------------------------------------------------------------ My Dad had a job in the City, and we spent 11 years in Montclair, NJ... and, oh yeah, some parts of that town were swell, other parts you would get your but kicked. But that was back in the 1970's though... An odd, unusual time for youngsters, because of the growth, and development, of the Civil Rights Movement out of the South, and to an additional extent, the push for the "ERA" for women, which never happened.
Yep I grew up in "The Hills" as it was known, in the 60's and 70's...still remember the neighbors kid going off to Nam...the old man taking a drive down Springwood Ave after the riots....integration in SRH 's elementary school, which was frowned upon by people in Shark River Hills being an all white section of Neptune. Back in the day when kids went outside to play after school..got called home for dinner by Mom yelling out the back door....having to be home by dark......many childhood memories from that time. :) Atlantic Highlands is about a 20 minute drive north of there, up by Sandy Hook.
Yes, integration at times did do harm, and this is not generally realized or appreciated, because this statement is politically incorrect, and in a massive way. However, to place young children in a mixed situation so quickly, with such a great variety of backgrounds, being economic (class), manners and sentiments, privileges, knowledge, even intelligence, is this the correct move? It would have been best to wait a century, or 50 years at the minimum, until ... the lower classes, and various races and ethnicities 'caught up' to the Upper Class, and professional whites in a number of areas. A lot of hatred, pent up animosity, jealousy.... It was a sad site. Masterpiece. Jimmy on the slide, Robert with great vocals digging up the southern USA, Jones keeping pace with Bonham at his finest. This and Achilles Last Stand are some of Bonham's best stuff. This song is freaking awesome.

You are a good man my friend! You sound like me back in high school in the 80's getting in fights with friends about the same thing, no doubt ZEP IS THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why does the song have to end? Why? It flows through the ears, cerebrum, and body so melodiously, smoothly, sweetly, and flawlessly each and every time it's listened to. Why can't it keep going? Why?? Led Zeppelin is the extreme best band EVER. Best singer, best guitarist, best bassist, best drummer EVER. The best drummer was lost physically but not musically. It's as if he never died.
***** The day I see Neil Peart with a 5 drum, 3 cymbal set and do the same things Bonham could do an innovate they way he did, I'd put him on the same level.
+oneperfectoutfit You NOT going to beat Bonham. The Greatest Drummer Of All Time!!!! You can tell who was born to do what they did, eventually. He pounds cymbals where there shouldn't be a crash and pounds drums like on a 1st beat of a measure but it's completely off beat, but he makes it sound fantastic and makes it work somehow
Bonham's drumming on this and When the Levee Breaks are pretty much the apex of rock and roll drumming and I've never heard anything better. I believe the drum sound on WTLB is the best recorded drum sound of all time.
JasonCleghorn1975 , it's true that Bonham is no doubt one of the greatest rock and roll drummers. The man is amazing! But there's one that tops them all, and that's Neil Peart from Rush.
I'm not that young, I'm 30. Rush, Zeppelin, and Tool are my all time fav bands. Even if you aren't a fan if Tool, Danny Carey is a God on the drums. Him and Peart are definitely the best drummers of all time. I just like Careys style better. It's amazing.
I remember the first time I heard this song. I was 14 years old, many, many moons ago. this song open a lot of doors for me. it changed the way I listened to music, the way I wrote music in the future. its a masterpiece. IMO, its Led Zeppelin at its peak. Physical Graffiti to me was Zepp's last great album, you could see a slight decline in presence, then by the the time "in through the out door" came out the music around them was changing. the 70's were ending. in through the out door had a few great songs on it, but not like the earlier albums where almost every song on it was a master piece.
chuck jones I'm right there with you brother I too was 14 years old when I first heard this song and this album. I had been playing guitar for almost 2 years by then. This song blew my mind, and still does to this day. All guitars,Bass and Vocals works are just crazy badass shit. But to me this was Bonzo's Swan Song. This whole track was an unbelievable thought changer for me also. Pure Masterpiece.
Michael Foster ya, you know mike, I had playing for a couple years as well when I heard this song and it inspired me to reach a little higher and play a little more to learn this.good point on the bonzo comment. best drummer ever !
Slide guitar, John Bonham... Every single great thing about Led Zeppelin is on display here. They were all great and together they were somehow greater.
Man I thought it was just me that that happened to... I didn't want to say anything because, you know, I thought people would think that I was mad or just really stoned.... But now I can talk freely about it, magic mate
I saw Jason at Woodstock in 94, finally meet him in West Palm Beach, I was rolling at the mouth telling him how much of impact his Father had on me, he was very humble as he as heard this many times before, it was a huge to talk with him, just a small part in my life but a huge impact, this all was because of his Father. Thank you for posting this song, good day and great memories. Led Zep lives on and with me, will always will. Be well all
Lorraine that my dear is the great Jimmy Page on lead guitar and John Bonham on drums there is no one that sounds as radically deliberate and still kept spot on timing like 'ol BONZO
I was diagnosed with terminal cancer a few months ago, and plan to have this song played at some point during the wake (not having a funeral if I can help it). Thanks for the upload, serpenteo80... I needed to hear this tonight, and I'm away from home without access to my collection.
best rock band of all time. the Beatles changed music in the 60'S Then Zeppelin came along and changed everything. every band since has been influenced by them. pure genius!
Was just thinking the same thing Erin! The sound trac of our lives, this and the Battle of Evermore. They opened another world for me here- what better way to send me off to the next one?
This isn't my picture and I don't know how the hell it got on my computer, but girl, you are drop dead gorgeous, so don't you EVER die!!! Jeez, I love you just cuz you dig the best damn band ever!! Peace girl, and rock on forever. I love you.....
+Matthew Cartwright It's pretty cool cause in most lists Bonham is the best drummer, Robert is the best singer and Jimmy is #2 best guitarist (sorry JPJ you are still not noticed :( ). So in a way Led Zep is the best band
+Wilson Neto Its a solid song, but I wouldn't consider that's Led Zep's finest. Definetely one of thier best, and one of my favorites, but in my opinion thier best song is Kashmir.
Robertschelly ...to say the least, I was a teen in the latter part of the 70's and I gotta say; "Todays weed aint nuttin like it was back then!" I mean we had the "Sticky Tie,".. or the occasional "Helmet" that we were happy to get our grubby `lil fingers on.... but they're turnin out some SERIOUS smoke these daze. Sure would like to try some of it, but I'm afraid I might lose the only brain cell I have left!!! XD
CooManTunes Back East in the early 70's weed was $20 and ounce for decent Mexican weed. Arizona at the same time $10 and ounce. Decent. Got ya stoned, wasted your memory, and giggly not blown away like todays stuff. 2 people on one joint back in the day and you were feeling just fine. Colors seemed brighter, music sounded better everything was enhanced, got the muchies from it too. I turned 20 in 72.
All of their tracks were so LAYERED...like vocals over vocals and guitar overdubs and it made it so fucking amazing and the joints I smoked listening to this shit...BAM
i have dedicated this tune to my friend, who passed recently/. we used to debate on the best/ grittiest/ hardest Zep songs. this was his choice. miss ya, J
Not only one of my favorite songs by Zeppelin, but my favorites above all. Love every minute from Bonzo´s drumming in the opening to Page´s not-from-this-earth soloing in the middle part - god knows how he made his guitar sound like that - to the climaxing finale. That´s pure rock & roll genius and I don´t care if Zeppelin borrowed a few motives from traditional blues songs as no one would know the originals if they had not.
Personally think thisa is the best slide guitar ever recorded. And I am a HUGE Pink Floyd fan and David Gilmour is a great slide guitarist. But this.....well shit. This is outstanding.
+VivaZeBone this is good slide playing ... but check out the earlier version 'Jesus Gonna Make Up My Dying Bed' by Blind Willy Johnson ... then check out the slide playing on his other stuff! His tune 'Dark Was the Night' is so good ... such an example of raw blues emotion ... they sent it out on a space probe along with some of the world's greatest music.
Glenn Karant There's a whole slew of good & great slide artists. In my not so humble opinion, Duane Allman & Elmore James top the list that includes Ry Cooder, Mr. Son House, Page, Bonnie Raitt, "Blind Willie" McTell, Muddy, Rory Gallagher, Kevin Moore aka Keb' Mo', the Reverend Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), Roy Clark, Leadbelly & the grandfather of British blues Alexis Koerner, just to name a few. BTW...there's this lady on TH-cam named Sima B who is phenomenal on guitar. Mos' definitely worth a listen.
+Richard Marshall Bowman TOP 15 LEAD GUITARISTS OF ANY GENRE AT ANY TIME: 1) Duane Allman 2) Jimi Hendrix 3) Carlos Santana 4) Jimmy Page 5: Jeff Beck 6) Robin Trower 7) Eric Clapton 8) Leslie West 9) Dicky Betts 10) Tommy Bolin 11) Johnny Thunders 12) Ritchie Blackmore 13) Eddie Van Halen 14) Slash 15) Mick Taylor
Probably the best studio solo ever. This song is relentless, like many Zep songs. Exhausting. People can call it plagiarism, but nobody played this song better and it doesn't resemble the originally recorded one at all.
Wicked tune! Every album is totally different, and I am loving getting back my rock and roll. I have every single Zeppelin album in vinyl, and I was able to witness them in 1977, @ Madison Square Garden.
But pink Floyd wrote their own music. Plus, most of the people who call the Beatles the "best band ever" have a secret hatred for rock and roll, so there is no point in informing them there actually were more influential rock bands on modern rock.
+David Hoyle i love the beatles and i have zero hate for rock n roll...the beatles were the best band in history to me...but i love all 60s and 70s bands they were all amazing...
8:33-9:33 exemplify the epitome of how well drums and guitar can make your head spin and your body move. Bonham and Page worked together. Not many bands die with the percussionist. If you listen to Page's interviews after the tragedy of John's passing he says that the improvisation planned on the next batch of music could never be accomplished without John playing. Seeing John's son playing at the Kennedy Center 'Stairway to Heavan" in that Boxer Hat just ripped me apart and you could see Robert tearing up. Class act, class band forever!!
Yep. Right after the giggle pass and the dark coldness of the universe sets in... All I waaaant if for you to do is to take my body hooooome.. Well. Well. Well. So I can I die easy... aaaand DRUMS.
Es IMPRESIONANTE. Parece grabado ayer.
Now that is talent! I wish the artists today were a bit creative instead of the same ole formula they think works today. Listen to this tune!. The breaks, the different riffs, wicked drums, awesome take you away voice! And of course the best guitarist that ever lived! No doubt. Come one music world, get alive!
Emma Cat Point well taken, ppl these days have no real appreciation or patience. If the song takes more than 4 min, it's too long, unless it's a never ending EDM song, then they all think its absolute genius.

+Mike Lee sgt peppers was definitely their most revolutionary album, to say the least, besides, dark side of the moon only exists because of sgt peppers, roger waters said himself.
Led Zeppelin is the second greatest in my heart. The first is Pink Floyd for me. But I just don't want ppl to take them for competition. I would say there are both great. Just different types of greatness. Enjoy their music! That's the only thing to do.
Their styles are totally different. Kind of hard to compare, IMO. Once you get to the pinnacle of greatness like Floyd and Zeppelin, there is really no "best". They are all at the top.
You can really feel their blues roots roots in this song my Dad got me into them since I had a thing for blues music and he always listens to them and a lot of old classic rock n roll artist and bands and classic music in general and plays guitar himself it started to interest me. Gotta Love The Classics wish there were modern day artists that sound like this today.
"Meet me, Jesus, meet me in the middle of the air, If my wings should fail me Lord, please meet me with another pair." As prayers go, this is a pretty good one.
Chana Luria Wow seriously? You want the same at your exit? Thats awesome we have that special connection right there. Shall we email? sanjmann@outlook.com
***** achilles is great but it's too Iron Maiden like. Not really "heavy" as in my time of dying. Like the drums and bass are like bombs going off in this song.
If you guys listen closely. The trigun ost track-Never could be worse-, borrows almost the same riff in the beginning of this song. just thought you should know
Long live real music. Nobody even comes close. Switching up rhythms mid stream and coming back to a soulful funk like only they can do. You can judge a man's soul as to whether or not he understands Led Zeppelin. There's much more I can say, but why?
Tomorrow, will make a month, a month of sadness. My best friend, brother. He left, and left such a good message for me. And now everything makes sense, after all he always came here at home, and heard this song. How I am Brazilian I have fluent English. And after his departure I sought response at all, and now I understand why he hear this song. :(
+Ibn Sina that's kind of rude, but I did see some flaws, but so what, everyone makes mistakes sometimes. Not even Americans can talk right through a message
But I see no problem in speaking wrong, being Brazilian and this country is shit makes me very late in languages. What matters is to understand the message that I leave them, that is, value their friendships.
Great surname Kenny may I concur with your sentiments about Jeanmarie.Great song two guitar solos from the Master. For my own departure when it will be time to Ramble POn I have chosen WhiteMountainside as one of two toons the other being by Eva Demarchek
A thousand years from now, people will still listen to Led Zep. Best of the best.
agreed
Don't forget on Pink Floyd :)
It would be sad fate of humanity if no one listened to Zep thousand years later

Led zeppelin had the most influence on me. It was my door to another world. I wanna say thanks if anyone cares^^
Thanks :D

Every part of this, the guitar, the vocals, the drumming, is absolutely flawless. This song is just.... beyond incredible
And the bass ... Jonesy is killin' this underneath the whole way through.
Whom ever dislikes this has some serious issues... These 4 men created music that will NEVER die
150 Years From Now People Will Still Be Getting Stoned And Listening To Led Zeppelin :)

Where's "The Rover" in there? Also "Thank You" and "Ten Years Gone" should be one of the highest.
Nice list, nonetheless
No Quarter and Since I've been Loving you are definitely my two all-time favorite Zeppelin songs, though great list nonetheless!
I never ever get sick of this song! 11 minutes and and 6 seconds of pure joy!

+oneperfectoutfit
MAYBE???!! No! No Maybe
Bonham's drumming on this and When the Levee Breaks are pretty much the apex of rock and roll drumming and I've never heard anything better. I believe the drum sound on WTLB is the best recorded drum sound of all time.
don't forget "moby dick"
JasonCleghorn1975 , it's true that Bonham is no doubt one of the greatest rock and roll drummers. The man is amazing! But there's one that tops them all, and that's Neil Peart from Rush.
JasonCleghorn1975 much respect to Zeppelin, but Tools Danny Carey is the best drummer of all time.
You must be young.
The live version of this at the Earls Court show of '75 is maybe the single best piece of music ever captured on video or vinyl EVER!
11 minutes of perfection! One of my favorite songs.
FanshakiraLyrics yes!
I remember the first time I heard this I cranked it the drumming and slide guitar was awesome, I was hooked instantly and never looked back.
Gotta be the best drums ever played in rock history...
I remember the first time I heard this song. I was 14 years old, many, many moons ago. this song open a lot of doors for me. it changed the way I listened to music, the way I wrote music in the future. its a masterpiece. IMO, its Led Zeppelin at its peak.
Physical Graffiti to me was Zepp's last great album, you could see a slight decline in presence, then by the the time "in through the out door" came out the music around them was changing. the 70's were ending. in through the out door had a few great songs on it, but not like the earlier albums where almost every song on it was a master piece.
chuck jones Zeppelin at its peak! Cheers!
chuck jones I'm right there with you brother I too was 14 years old when I first heard this song and this album.
Michael Foster ya, you know mike, I had playing for a couple years as well when I heard this song and it inspired me to reach a little higher and play a little more to learn this.good point on the bonzo comment. best drummer ever !
chuck jones 1969-1976 anything you can get your hands on,fucking do it,zepplin any thing is hot,not to mention the music,#1 on bill boards
chuck jones In Through the Out Door is a lot better than Coda though.
Slide guitar, John Bonham...
Every single great thing about Led Zeppelin is on display here. They were all great and together they were somehow greater.
Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd are the greatest bands ever
could not agree more
Black sabbath as well!
***** lol
I agree with you completely :)
It's what i think,vut i like jimi hendrix
Hands down the finest rock drum performance ever recorded
When I play this my bong lights itself and levitates over to me
This comment is pure gold !
Man I thought it was just me that that happened to... I didn't want to say anything because, you know, I thought people would think that I was mad or just really stoned.... But now I can talk freely about it, magic mate
All work and no play make Jack a dull boy.
Well said bro!!!!!
ppl like you make the world run
I saw Jason at Woodstock in 94, finally meet him in West Palm Beach, I was rolling at the mouth telling him how much of impact his Father had on me, he was very humble as he as heard this many times before, it was a huge to talk with him, just a small part in my life but a huge impact, this all was because of his Father. Thank you for posting this song, good day and great memories. Led Zep lives on and with me, will always will. Be well all
I've been sitting here for 5 minutes just saying "What a fucking song, that's crazy"
I've known this song for years but by fucking God man
Me too. It's like I've never heard this before, maybe I finally got the stereo wattage to do it justice.
Man alive ! Crazy right
Fabricio Nogueira do not use the Gods name in vain " Please"
Ron Kirkland
I can do whatever I want, I'm not a christian
*****
Thank you
DRUMS ARE INSANE ON THIS ONE
You have that dead right!
good call brother
+Víctor Cid NO ONE better than Bonzo!!!
+Víctor Cid YES - One of the best drummers ever
He beat and stomped the drums to death on this one
The whole song is great, but it gets wicked epic at 3:45. Oh man. All of it....bass, lead, drums and vocals. Just 4 guys...pounding out that sound.
Love the slide guitar it is so raw and the drums are ridiculous - MASTERPIECE !!
Awesome!
Lorraine that my dear is the great Jimmy Page on lead guitar and John Bonham on drums there is no one that sounds as radically deliberate and still kept spot on timing like 'ol BONZO
Exactly... my favorite LedZep track ever.
Then you would love their covers here made by band called Gruhak... Listen and enjoy...
Lorraine Ashby I remember when this came out I was just floored by Bonzo's work on this cut and still am.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how perfectly JPJ matches his slides on bass to Page's guitar slides!
Hard to believe this album is 41 years old and it still kicks ASS!
Pure musical genius... what happened to todays music ??? What ??? Downward spiral since the 70's...sad, sad for humanity.
I was diagnosed with terminal cancer a few months ago, and plan to have this song played at some point during the wake (not having a funeral if I can help it).
Thanks for the upload, serpenteo80... I needed to hear this tonight, and I'm away from home without access to my collection.
Ohh... fiquei extremamente triste com com seu depoimento... quero ajuda-lo de alguma forma... talvez sobre nosso gosto musical...
Im sorry brother and you couldnt have picked a better song to enter The kingdom with..🙏🤘
Ultimate air drum song....great groove..love to hack this up on the guitar
fo show
best rock band of all time. the Beatles changed music in the 60'S Then Zeppelin came along and changed everything. every band since has been influenced by them. pure genius!
+joe jarden im a huge purple fan, when and what did they say?
Rush
Every band since has yet to come up to Zep's boot straps...
How can 208 people dislike this song? It's absolutely AMAZING.
One of my fav songs :) intro, drums, riff, guitar, vocals.... all its perfect
3:50 - 7:30 some of the best drumming ever heard by my ears!" Eargasm
Agreeeee
+Brian Pinter Hmm a lot of boring boom boom with some rolls in between. Not really great.
+pieter lucas maria lemmens lol what people with little to no real drum lessons/teachings say
+pieter lucas maria lemmens well wtf are u posting comments for here?? oh u one of them ppl who troll around and post jacked up shit to piss ppl off.
I'm particularly fond of 4:05 - 4:10 specifically, and all repetitions of the pattern.
Who's the drummer? He's pretty good.
lmao
The Man on Fire
ehh hes alright not as good as john bonham tho
Dave Lombardo.
You
Gotta love some Led in the morning to start the day ;)
+ShadowQueen13 and cup of java w/a nice pipe...
+ShadowQueen13 Or Led all day, every day!
+ShadowQueen13 can't trust anyone who doesn't like Zeppelin :)))
Mac Demarco One of the best combinations!
+ShadowQueen13 nice sweet girl
Received this, on my 14th birthday, back in 75, changed my life. It still sounds magnificent. Physical Graffiti, Zeppelin's masterwork.
one of his masterpieces. both the song and the disk itself. For me!!!
my cousin just died, she turned me on to Zep back in the day. this will be blasting loud enough to wake the dead. long live Trish & Zep.
Gonna play this at my funeral and my family and friends can sit through 11 minutes of pure awesomeness.
haha i thought the very same thing :P
Was just thinking the same thing Erin! The sound trac of our lives, this and the Battle of Evermore. They opened another world for me here- what better way to send me off to the next one?
:-)
This isn't my picture and I don't know how the hell it got on my computer, but girl, you are drop dead gorgeous, so don't you EVER die!!! Jeez, I love you just cuz you dig the best damn band ever!! Peace girl, and rock on forever. I love you.....
You're not gonna do shit at your funeral lmao
I don't think it's physically possible to play harder than Bonham did on this track. If you're in any doubt TURN IT UP and STAND WELL BACK!
+Matthew Cartwright It's pretty cool cause in most lists Bonham is the best drummer, Robert is the best singer and Jimmy is #2 best guitarist (sorry JPJ you are still not noticed :( ). So in a way Led Zep is the best band
My go-to when I want primal THUMP!!! For technical prowess, Rush's 2112...
absolutely love his drumming
So many variations, so much sheer THUMP!!!
Thank you so much for your kind comments.
Led Zeppelin ha marcado mi vida. Épicas canciones.
Desde Chile, saludos a todos los rockeros del mundo.
Rock on Lando !!!
I think this may be my favorite song of all time.
+EdMcStinko good choice!
Listen to stairway to heaven
+Wilson Neto Overrated..
+BoTuLisM SHoVeL saying something is overrated just means: "everyone likes it but i dont and i want my opinions to mean more than anyone elses"
+Wilson Neto Its a solid song, but I wouldn't consider that's Led Zep's finest. Definetely one of thier best, and one of my favorites, but in my opinion thier best song is Kashmir.
saw these boys live back in the 70's. In a word, great. Smoked a doobie or two by the stereo in 75 to this album.
Bill Taylor Excellent!
Bill Taylor Was weed really sticky or more dry back in the 70's?
Robertschelly ...to say the least, I was a teen in the latter part of the 70's and I gotta say; "Todays weed aint nuttin like it was back then!" I mean we had the "Sticky Tie,".. or the occasional "Helmet" that we were happy to get our grubby `lil fingers on.... but they're turnin out some SERIOUS smoke these daze. Sure would like to try some of it, but I'm afraid I might lose the only brain cell I have left!!! XD
Gary Kovach Today's is much better but real pricey
CooManTunes Back East in the early 70's weed was $20 and ounce for decent Mexican weed. Arizona at the same time $10 and ounce. Decent. Got ya stoned, wasted your memory, and giggly not blown away like todays stuff. 2 people on one joint back in the day and you were feeling just fine. Colors seemed brighter, music sounded better everything was enhanced, got the muchies from it too. I turned 20 in 72.
I'm gonna go ahead and suggest this is the best rock and roll song of all time. Just fucking unreal.
+Josh Callister If it's not, it'll do 'till the best one comes around!
I,m totally with you on that Josh.
All of their tracks were so LAYERED...like vocals over vocals and guitar overdubs and it made it so fucking amazing and the joints I smoked listening to this shit...BAM
one of the choicest cuts on physical graffiti
Love this entire album
Me too Soncyrea. LZ III a close second. Love them all though
i have dedicated this tune to my friend, who passed recently/. we used to debate on the best/ grittiest/ hardest Zep songs. this was his choice. miss ya, J
Can't forget about this song!!! This is what Rock N Roll is all about!
14 yrs old when I first heard, was certainly taken by it - 53 now and I love it no less...BFB ever!!!
Personally think thisa is the best slide guitar ever recorded. And I am a HUGE Pink Floyd fan and David Gilmour is a great slide guitarist. But this.....well shit. This is outstanding.
+VivaZeBone It IS awesome...but.... "the best"....? No. Just No. You obviously haven't heard of Ry Cooder..or... the great Duane Allman.
+VivaZeBone just TWO WORDS for ya man; DUANE ALLMAN!.....
+Richard Marshall Bowman
TOP 15 LEAD GUITARISTS OF ANY GENRE AT ANY TIME:
1) Duane Allman
2) Jimi Hendrix
3) Carlos Santana
4) Jimmy Page
5: Jeff Beck
6) Robin Trower
7) Eric Clapton
8) Leslie West
9) Dicky Betts
10) Tommy Bolin
11) Johnny Thunders
12) Ritchie Blackmore
13) Eddie Van Halen
14) Slash
15) Mick Taylor
The more you listen , the more you hear , this tune is a masterpiece . \../ John B
Right!?! Not some, fly by night' deal, for sure.
One of their best IMO. I love how it changes gears so many times throughout the limited time of the tune.
Probably the best studio solo ever. This song is relentless, like many Zep songs. Exhausting. People can call it plagiarism, but nobody played this song better and it doesn't resemble the originally recorded one at all.
This song is just pure awesomeness!!! I can just listen to it whole day long and relax! 11 min epic!!
+Dejan Payne I know exactly what you mean! Just the Best! Dave in Bristol.
Wicked tune! Every album is totally different, and I am loving getting back my rock and roll. I have every single Zeppelin album in vinyl, and I was able to witness them in 1977, @ Madison Square Garden.
Perfecto, como quisiera q se reúnan al menos una vez en un gram concierto no importa que estén con la edad encima seguirán siendo los mejores
Can't play this one loudly enough-absolutely love the middle section!
Same! I keep on replaying that part!
Perfect combo.
When people tell me The Beatles are the best band in history, i show them this song
Beatles are my favorite, Led is 2nd favorite
Led Zep masterrace yo
But pink Floyd wrote their own music. Plus, most of the people who call the Beatles the "best band ever" have a secret hatred for rock and roll, so there is no point in informing them there actually were more influential rock bands on modern rock.
pcbgatlas sort of like what you just said.... troll.
+David Hoyle i love the beatles and i have zero hate for rock n roll...the beatles were the best band in history to me...but i love all 60s and 70s bands they were all amazing...
just bought Physical Graffiti on vinyl. OMG!!! Holy Sh*****t! I had an eargasm. So good!
La verdadera musica se deleita escuchando esto!
Bonzo que gran batero eres! el mejor!!
Saludos de Lima-Peru.
You know, that weird feeling in your cheeks and throat right before you start tripping... I get that just from listening to this.
Same
+mknomad5 ...lol.....
When your heart picks up but you temporarily have much less energy.. Haha. Nice one bro
Yep. Right after the giggle pass and the dark coldness of the universe sets in... All I waaaant if for you to do is to take my body hooooome.. Well. Well. Well. So I can I die easy... aaaand DRUMS.
Perfect song, the slide guitar is awesome! Jimmy Page, the greatest, powerful!!!
guitar effects are insane... drums are insane... vocals are insane... bass line also insane!!!!
Es IMPRESIONANTE. Parece grabado ayer.
Everyone talks about that amazing drums, that slide, Plant's voice, but that bass is awesome to
Now that is talent! I wish the artists today were a bit creative instead of the same ole formula they think works today. Listen to this tune!. The breaks, the different riffs, wicked drums, awesome take you away voice! And of course the best guitarist that ever lived! No doubt. Come one music world, get alive!
How can there be ANY thumbs downs, let alone over 300!? That just boggles my pot addled mind
consider the inability of most people to focus for more than 3 minutes let alone climbing a mountain of musical genius
Emma Cat Point well taken, ppl these days have no real appreciation or patience. If the song takes more than 4 min, it's too long, unless it's a never ending EDM song, then they all think its absolute genius.
what the EDM abreviation stands for?
Felipe Dash Pimentel
electronic dance music.
Zoso- Me? ts just hard to envision so many ppl not liking this song, on of the best they wrotr.
Genius, Peerless, Relentless, & Fearless. RIP JHB...
This is the reason Led Zeppelin is in my top 10 favorite bands. If you can't rock to Zepp something is wrong with you.
Led Zepplin were true musicians that could play so many creative pieces that still blows every other bands out of the water!
the drums in this song sends shivers down my spine and makes my whole body tingle

Black country woman
Custard pie
Trampled Under Foot (both)
Houses of the holy (both)
Sick again
The wanton song

This was Zeppelin's masterpiece this album that is. It's like their Sgt. Peppers or their Dark Side of the Moon.
I agree, this or Led Zeppelin IV
+GrayWoIf but Sgt. Peppers wasnt their best album
+Mike Lee sgt peppers was definitely their most revolutionary album, to say the least, besides, dark side of the moon only exists because of sgt peppers, roger waters said himself.
+Jason Trottier I mean I can easily see how someone could say that Revolver or Abbey Road could be better
Excellent song - one of the BEST from Physical Graffiti - and a perfect late-night party song !!!
I was in Jr. High school in the 9th gradein 1969 when I heard my first Led Zeppelin album in my music class recording room. Since then I got hooked.
This blows my head off every time I listen to it.
The best rock song ever!!!
Shine On, You Crazy Diamond
Led Zeppelin is the second greatest in my heart. The first is Pink Floyd for me.
But I just don't want ppl to take them for competition.
I would say there are both great. Just different types of greatness.
Enjoy their music! That's the only thing to do.
Their styles are totally different. Kind of hard to compare, IMO. Once you get to the pinnacle of greatness like Floyd and Zeppelin, there is really no "best". They are all at the top.
Michael Schwarz led zepplin is the greatest band on earth. If you dont include lynyrd skynyrd.
Dios!!! Amo esta cancion!!! Feliz dia del rock para todos!!!
"Meet me, Jesus, meet me in the middle of the air, If my wings should fail me Lord, please meet me with another pair."
As prayers go, this is a pretty good one.
Awesome song! 🎼🎶🎸🎤
I want this played at my funeral...
SAME
+Jeannie E. Hess Funny you say that ive got it in my Wil that I want Stairway to Heaven played at mine hahahaha
+Sss Me too, one of my sons is going to play it on an acoustic guitar.
Chana Luria Wow seriously? You want the same at your exit? Thats awesome we have that special connection right there. Shall we email? sanjmann@outlook.com
+Sss
Lol @ "a special connection"
Heaviest and most intense thing I have ever heard in my life
***** achilles is great but it's too Iron Maiden like. Not really "heavy" as in my time of dying. Like the drums and bass are like bombs going off in this song.
lol try Meshuggah's "Bleed"
2112 By Rush. Enough Said.
Rush sucks, Zeppelin for life brah
Woah, can we just agree that both are good? Seriously can't diss Rush brah, that's dirty af
Been loving this song for over 35 years now. "If my wings should fail me Lord, please meet me with another pair!"
Cualquiera que publica algo de Zepp con buenas intenciones recibe lo mejor del publico !!!! Obras de arte de estos musicos inigualables!!!
Now I know where Trigun
Got their inspiration from totally awesome!!
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing
so yoko kanno for spokey dokey in cowboy bebop
Dude!!!! i was thinking the same!!!! Great anime and the greatest band
thats good see you space cowboy
If you guys listen closely. The trigun ost track-Never could be worse-, borrows almost the same riff in the beginning of this song. just thought you should know
Long live real music. Nobody even comes close. Switching up rhythms mid stream and coming back to a soulful funk like only they can do. You can judge a man's soul as to whether or not he understands Led Zeppelin. There's much more I can say, but why?
or a woman's soul ;)
Do you play also Scott?
Tomorrow, will make a month, a month of sadness.
My best friend, brother.
He left, and left such a good message for me.
And now everything makes sense, after all he always came here at home, and heard this song.
How I am Brazilian I have fluent English.
And after his departure I sought response at all, and now I understand why he hear this song.
:(
+Ibn Sina that's kind of rude, but I did see some flaws, but so what, everyone makes mistakes sometimes. Not even Americans can talk right through a message
I know m8.
Cuz i'm brazilian.
But I see no problem in speaking wrong, being Brazilian and this country is shit makes me very late in languages.
What matters is to understand the message that I leave them, that is, value their friendships.
everyone learns from their mistakes*
+Ibn Sina bet you dont know how to speak in another language
When I listen to this song, I feel like I'm walking through the trees in the woods on a sunny day, like I always do on summer..
HAPPINESS!
Hearing this song in your head at work carries a different weight in EMS. I love it.
Such a joy to hear someone actually playing the drums after being inundated by fucking drum machines for the last 15 years!
jesus has mercy on you and we are living in the last times then jesus will come back -ewtn.com and tbn.com
richard t Gallegos Jesus drove a chevy.
***** Right on
bobwatters I like Grohl for what he did in Nirvana, but NOBODY rocks like the great John Bonham
jimmy page I stillthink the diva drummer from metalica is not that great.
I want this as my funeral song
Great Tune jeanmarie sansaver let's hope it,s not to soon !
Kenny Wilson it won't be
Great surname Kenny may I concur with your sentiments about Jeanmarie.Great song two guitar solos from the Master. For my own departure when it will be time to Ramble POn I have chosen WhiteMountainside as one of two toons the other being by Eva Demarchek
me too
jean marie.....i love you...lets get married and run off to a tropical island to die easy
What's so great about Led Zeppelin? BECAUSE THEY ROCK SO HARD!
Good lord, if anything this band is underrated. They were truly gods walking the earth.
Buscando nuevos temas de Led Zeppelin.. me parecio genial esta de aqui... FOREVER ROCK!!
