We saw how he was thrilled to fight a certain witch and wanted to enjoy their confrontation even more. He also praised a certain swordswoman for her skills. That's why i really like his character in general.
The 'Eargasm' in this episode is unmatched ,this show is arguably one of the best shows in terms of sound dynamics. Cid takes everything he does to the peak of absurdity. Also props to the VA to pull off something like that.

I don't know why they removed it from anime. Having a mask makes more sense when it comes to hiding his identity.
Cid is supposed to not wear a mask instead he covers his face with a dark aura which makes him apear inhuman(this came from LN which is the source material). While the members of shadow garden only wear mask when its daytime to hide their face and bare faced at night time because its dark anyways and they kill their enemies all of the time so no witnesses.
The "I like your swordplay" comment was her sisters recognition that Alexia had a beautiful style. Not Cid recognition. Since she hated her own swordplay she originally thought her sister was belittling her. Also, somehow Cid decides who dies in his Nuke. This follows the novels but in the artwork shadow is often drawn with a mask, or in full shadow with red eyes being all you can see. You can search the illust from LN and see shadow face cover with dark aura, but anime production don't use that because they want the audience to see cid expression and some budget and time reason for animators

The nuke was a bit overkill but ALSO destroyed most of the facility, maybe thats why it was so big. Destroying an underground facility like that is one way of doing things xD
