@@InsertSnowHere it could be a game option, for example: it could have two options where it could be the same as in the trailer, or choose the default version
Looking at the barebones textures, I went to myself "wow, it's like when I make the MC models from scratch in my program to have them animated" Then I realized, that is why the trailer uses simplified "bare boned" textures in the trailers.. you just make it real quick, no detail, animated, boom. Easy. Wondered what it would look like if it was detailed like real minecraft textures.
I think the barebone textures just look better for trailers because it makes everything pop more and it feels more lively! The animations pretty much carry the whole trailers though.
@@PhantomOfficial07 I agree. Considering they already have the original detailed textures, editing those to be animation ready would be about the same effort as creating the simple textures. It wasn't a time save it was a stylistic choice. I personally however don't like trailers differentiating much from the game on principle. The trailer should be a showcase of the game, and changing the art style arbitrarily is misleading.
Extremely useful list of mods/packs. I’ve scoured the internet for a player animations mod, finally one that at least exists! Thanks, lowres for helping immerse my game even further.
Dig through the train station channel and if it’s not there it probably means they’ve taken it down as the development has been taken over by moonflower.
You might also like Emin's Complementary Shaders! ALSO also, the 'Outline' tab in 'Post Effects' has options to recreate the Promo Art's white outlines :) Great video btw! I've been sending it to everyone haha
If it does exist, a mod compatible with these that lets light be colored could help aswell. In the trailers, certain light sources are of different colors from others
In BSL's shader settings in the post-processing section, there is an outline setting that improves the look a lot if you cycle it to "Dungeons" to emulate Mojang's style in the Minecraft Dungeons artwork. It also has a few other options that are fun to mess with. It doesn't just have to be black outlines around things like the name would imply.
I always wonder why the art and trailers look so different from the game. It's not rare for companies to do this, but they keep the same style of textures and such. They just make the shading, antialiasing, animations, etc smoother and better. Minecraft is literally in a different art style. It's annoying, especially because I really like how Minecraft art and trailers look.
It's good for marketing because its colorful, cleaner and more dynamic but i don't think one is better than the other. Minecraft was never supposed to be a visually appealing game. The classic pixelated/low res look of vanilla minecraft not only is really unique and loved but it also allows anyone to play it.
Bruh i love that pillagers have face expression when being attack and for the zombie got its own wobbly movement makes it cartoony yet realistic and beautiful on its own
The newer mobs, especially those added recently like the Allay and the Warden, have greatly improved animations. Similar to how the new blocks’ textures conflicted with the old ones, they should update the animations to the quality of the ones we have now!
@@knatsprayWhat makes their updates so slow to come out anyway? For a multi billion dollar company even before they were bought out by miceosoft, one major update a year is atrocious when all they add are a couple mobs and some random shiz nobody wanted. It took them almost a decade to make iron drop as nuggets the same way gold, diamonds, and other minerals do. How crazy is that?
Before, the excuse of "not wanting to alter the gameplay loop" was a sufficient explaination. Now the game has been crowned the largest of all time, and they can't figure out a more creative way of expanding the game... The state the game's update schedule is in now can easily be attributed to blatant laziness from the devs.
I love the fact that when you light up a TNT it not only explodes in the Minecraft world, but it explodes your PC in real life too! It really makes you feel like a Minecrafter
The physics mod (just the free version should do) is also a nice edition, adding more 3D particles and such too the game. Just make sure the collapsing blocks option is turned off.
This is glorious. All the time I've seen videos like this that only apply realistic shaders and call it a day, but you actually did it the proper way. The colors, the animations, extra details; it's so good! I was a little skeptical at first about using BSL Shaders for this, since I've mostly been using Complementary Shaders to recreate the look, but this right here has cemented my choice to switch back to BSL. Props to you, my man! -mojang please can we have the animations and particles in the base game already-
Hello lowres, if you're reading this, I suggest changing "Outline" to Dungeons. In the trailers there is a white outline to make a light shader around blocks, to make it look smoother. For more realistic settings, Dungeons is the way to go. Thank you for your time. Good Luck!
Thanks! I did experiment with this and it’s a cool effect but I believe it better recreates the edge effect from Minecraft Dungeons than the vanilla game trailers
Was anyone else convinced the beginning footage was actually taken from a Minecraft trailer? I didn't notice the text at the bottom and only realized at around 0:23 which is crazy Lowres, you know your stuff. This is really convincing
I've been saying this for ages- Minecraft is literally the best selling video game to date and has an enormous talented fanbase behind it, yet its art style and mechanics feel so outdated compared to the potential it could truly take. You can clearly see how beautiful Minecraft looks when artists get creative and make the game more dynamic. Even Minecraft Dungeons took advantage of this. I understand the old-school novelty that vanilla Minecraft currently has, but I would love to see a Minecraft 2 one day that has a dedicated art and animation team that can take the game to the next level!
would also love to have a computer that would run that LOL gotta remember that one of the reasons minecraft is so widespread is that you can lower your graphics enough to play on a potato like i do- and it has been this barebones for the longest time. i see no problem with mojang keeping this type of approach to the game because it then gives the canvas for the comunity to make the pretty part. it's not of any less interest just because it comes from the fans, minecraft is a sandbox afterall
@@erlgjnerigneoifnroiueabgr Doesn't sodium already boost performance enough for you? The video is a bit outdated and Iris added support for the customisation menu and you can use CIT Resewn for any optifine required texturepacks

This is almost perfect like the trailer but there is a three mod miss in this video. The first one is "sound physic remastered" that mod will make sound under the cave is like a echo. Like in Minecraft 1.18 release official trailer. and now the second mod is "Nyf's Spider 2.0" the Nyf's Spider 2.0 mod is a mod will make spider clamb more realistic and it's always support fresh animation. And the last mod is "Carry on mod" that mod is not really important for Minecraft trailer. but it's really cool mod, that will help for pick up the chest and more blocks. and also is really cool for Minecraft trailer.
Damn this looks real nice, I actually thought it was an animation for a second at the start though I would recommend uploading your entire shader config file to a link the next time you do something like this , takes a bit long to adjust the values one by one to match the video
How beautiful it would be to make in-game animations with this modpack! A mod to make them would be Blockbuster by McHorse but unfortunately it's only for 1.12.2 Anyways, great job!
Its not that they wont do it, they just think its a good idea to keep the original basic look because the game is meant to be a simple basic game so even if they added these Most devices wont be able to even run this so they'd lose popularity and profits Its way better if things like this stay as mods and the game sticks with the original designs

You should add first person render mod as well, so every time you look down you can see your body
A looting corpse or ragdoll mod would also work pretty well. Same with a placeable items mod.
@@R1ptide_Drag0n is that in Minecraft trailers? 🤨
@@Theguywhodoesthings ragdoll physics yes

Reading this gave me a heart attack
The resource pack reminds me so much of the plastic texture pack on the console editions. So nostalgic
Hopefully Mojang sees this and find a way to officially implement this as well.
I really hope not, its a bad idea because most devices wont even be able to run this, imagine how good your computer has to be to run this and even if mojang sees this they wouldnt do it because they choose to keep it simple and basic
Things like this are better off staying as mods
@@InsertSnowHere You're definitely not wrong and I do agree with you. Looks really wonderful tho
@@InsertSnowHere it could be a game option, for example: it could have two options where it could be the same as in the trailer, or choose the default version
@@InsertSnowHere I think they should atleast add the emotion on faces of villagers and whatnot
@@InsertSnowHere yep I hope that too!
I think it's a stylistic choice, they could always just use the normal textures if they wanted to
I think the barebone textures just look better for trailers because it makes everything pop more and it feels more lively!
Real minecraft textures arent super hd they are 16x16
Extremely useful list of mods/packs. I’ve scoured the internet for a player animations mod, finally one that at least exists! Thanks, lowres for helping immerse my game even further.
can you explain where to get it? I know its in the discord server but when i go to downloads its not there
It's in Alpha, so not released to the public. I was just excited to know something like it exists
Dig through the train station channel and if it’s not there it probably means they’ve taken it down as the development has been taken over by moonflower.
@@lowresbones Oh, didn't know that. Thanks for clarifying!
@@lowresbones that make sense
I have never seen a video on a topic like this have such polish and well-roundedness. The gameplay footage at the end is edited immaculately
I think immersive portals would put the cherry on top. but honestly, amazing job finding these and making them all work together beautifully
but in the trailer you can see the purple part of the portal
I think the animations really tie everything together. Minecraft would greatly benefit from better mob and player animations
You might also like Emin's Complementary Shaders! ALSO also, the 'Outline' tab in 'Post Effects' has options to recreate the Promo Art's white outlines :)
Great video btw! I've been sending it to everyone haha
verified but no comments :( here you go :) btw cool video bro :D
BSL has had that outline for years..
@@Aesthics Youre right, but for advanced i think complementary has more outline option but, thats your option actually :)
I disagree
WOWW YOU DON'T READ MY PROFILE PICTURE 😶😶❌❌.
If it does exist, a mod compatible with these that lets light be colored could help aswell. In the trailers, certain light sources are of different colors from others
There used to be a mod for colored lights but it had to be discontinued as it caused major issues with the engine itself.
Immersive portals would also be a great touch to make it look more like the trailer
I don't think that's what the trailer looks like
The trailer doesn’t use immersive portals
Emissive maybe, emmersive is dif
In BSL's shader settings in the post-processing section, there is an outline setting that improves the look a lot if you cycle it to "Dungeons" to emulate Mojang's style in the Minecraft Dungeons artwork. It also has a few other options that are fun to mess with. It doesn't just have to be black outlines around things like the name would imply.

Now This looks like the Minecraft 2 that all of us we been dreaming about.
Marketing
It's good for marketing because its colorful, cleaner and more dynamic but i don't think one is better than the other. Minecraft was never supposed to be a visually appealing game. The classic pixelated/low res look of vanilla minecraft not only is really unique and loved but it also allows anyone to play it.
@@zonastarwars4397 I'm aware it wasn't made to be visually appealing, but I definitely like the way it looks when it is.
Maybe they can add it as an update where everyone is free to choose the classic look or the trailer look?
Or maybe they won't do this look, because the devs know that the modders will just do it for them?
I might actually give this a try, I hardly use texture packs and shaders just because I don't like them, but it looks pretty good here
I personally use Enhanced Default shaders, as they retain a lot of the vanilla style. But yeah, it still looks different
It's pretty good but I perfer this th-cam.com/video/o4KNDAKpUto/w-d-xo.html

You made Minecraft look very immersive. it's like playing inside a cartoon episode.
Thanks this really takes me back to the pillager update trailer they had a few years ago
Bruh i love that pillagers have face expression when being attack and for the zombie got its own wobbly movement makes it cartoony yet realistic and beautiful on its own
It makes Minecraft look so fresh and new! It's pretty awesome.
Hey so if you're having problems with fps, try turning fog density down, hope this helps.
I think an animation update is MANDATORY. Should definitely be on the 1.21 chopping block.
The newer mobs, especially those added recently like the Allay and the Warden, have greatly improved animations. Similar to how the new blocks’ textures conflicted with the old ones, they should update the animations to the quality of the ones we have now!
@@knatsprayYeeeeeees
@@wizardlizard55555 sorry but if that were to happen we’d have to wait at least five years
@@knatsprayWhat makes their updates so slow to come out anyway?
-mojang please can we have the animations and particles in the base game already-
Mokang: 🐸
well, complementary shaders is made from bsl, its basically a custom versioon of bsl
I love how insanely close this looks with the trailer's version 🌷
Man this makes me realise how much more Minecraft could be.
I would love to watch a play through series with these mods.

This is absolutely fantastic, I LOVE the art style in Mojang's trailers and I'm gonna have to try this when I get a chance. Thanks for the tutorial
Can’t wait to play with all these mods, absolutely perfect video.
I understand the old-school novelty that vanilla Minecraft currently has, but I would love to see a Minecraft 2 one day that has a dedicated art and animation team that can take the game to the next level!
good idea! 😃
would also love to have a computer that would run that LOL
gotta remember that one of the reasons minecraft is so widespread is that you can lower your graphics enough to play on a potato like i do- and it has been this barebones for the longest time. i see no problem with mojang keeping this type of approach to the game because it then gives the canvas for the comunity to make the pretty part. it's not of any less interest just because it comes from the fans, minecraft is a sandbox afterall
The mods are good enough, another Minecraft would just split the community further apart
@@erlgjnerigneoifnroiueabgr Doesn't sodium already boost performance enough for you? The video is a bit outdated and Iris added support for the customisation menu and you can use CIT Resewn for any optifine required texturepacks

These animations really give a life to minecraft. Wish mojang actually put this in the game.
That first mod that added particle effects was so simple and yet blew my mind. it looks so cool and awesome and like it belongs in the game.

What the younger audience misses is that the beauty of this game is it’s simple complexity

Damn this looks real nice, I actually thought it was an animation for a second at the start
though I would recommend uploading your entire shader config file to a link the next time you do something like this , takes a bit long to adjust the values one by one to match the video
This is gonna become my go to setup whenever I play 1.18
if i had minecraft this good looking i doubt i would ever leave my house ever again.
I remember seeing a reaction mod that makes villagers surprised or wide eyed when they see and enemy or pillagers
How beautiful it would be to make in-game animations with this modpack! A mod to make them would be Blockbuster by McHorse but unfortunately it's only for 1.12.2
Anyways, great job!
You’re doing what Mojang will never do, kudos to you for making the game look alive again!
m,ojang won't do it because they don't want to make the game look awful lol (also performance)
Its not that they wont do it, they just think its a good idea to keep the original basic look because the game is meant to be a simple basic game so even if they added these
Most devices wont be able to even run this so they'd lose popularity and profits
Its way better if things like this stay as mods and the game sticks with the original designs
@warpy wit da lowerkase w Eh, I'm not a huge fan of it. Just doesn't work for me.
