    Wow, you just mentioned the UN and that's exactly where i wanna work. I am a journalist interested in health communication so i can work with the WHO, UNAIDS or Africa CDC and they tend to require PhDs for these positions, so i now know I'm on the right track.

    Hi Hayley, 9:40 I can assure you that a higher degree will only going to help you in your career and in securing your Job.
    Like 14 years ago people were securing Jobs even with a High School Degree and now they need at least a Bachelor's Degree and in some cases, they ask for a Master's Degree.

    Greetings from Ghana..I am thinking of doing a PhD in Accounting and Finance and as a big 4 auditor in practice and a qualified chartered accountant i feel it might be worth it.

    Hi Dr Hayley, thanks for the information on PhD in your videos. I found them immensely helpful, especially the "7 Questions Likely to be Asked....". Thank you once again and I hope to watch all your videos 😀

    Just accepted a PhD studentship offer a couple of weeks ago. Watched this to check if anything sparks doubts. Pleased to report all is fine. I think I definitely SHOULD do a PhD! Thanks for the excellent video and food for thought.

      @@2010cyberguy I doubt myself daily, find it frustrating, hard, annoying... but don't regret it. :-)

    I am really struggling with this question and accepting an offer which would also mean a change of country, language, and level of independence.

      Same here. What makes it even more insane for me is that I am blind. I am freaked out that I am about to put myself in such torture. Would it be worth at the end!

    If I ask you personally why you did PHD in Tourism if you knew that it has almost every job that does not even requrire a Tertiary qualification. Actually why did you continue studying.

    • @TourismTeacher
      @TourismTeacher  3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Because I wanted to work in academia 😊
