My battery swelled and the back burst open on the battery side. My wife said it was because I left it too near the room heater in winter. Your wonderful video has meant, though I am 76 years old, I have been able to change the battery myself. Phone is back up and working. Thankyou so much.
Awesome Video! And the background music score was perfect for this quite informative and instructive video on dismantling the LG V40 for replacing the battery pack.
Hmm thank you for this vid, I'm trying to decide if I should replace my battery. I love my V40 but the battery is getting tired,it's pushing 3yo. I have location apps running in the background but a 30min drive and it's down 10% and it's just sitting there 😂 I'm due for an upgraded phone but I don't really like much out there and dont really want a Samsung. It's too bad LG folded up the phone end of their business.
Didn't even have to pry much for the back or heat it because the battery swelling but put a new battery and charging port in my lg v40 Appreciate this video 👍
Hello, I wonder how much heat/time is needed to blow the phone so the back plate can be removed. Is it possible to remove the plate without heat gun? or a a hair dryer could do? I'm so afraid of frying the battery XD
I am just guessing here but I wonder if you could actually have something touching the areas that you want to add heat to instead of a blow dryer which would disperse the heat over more of an area in that in a sentence might be safer because it's dispersing heat but if you touch something to the area that you want to heat up so that the glue will come loose maybe you could do it in shorter periods of time and you could possibly do it over a smaller surface area of contact I don't know I'm just guessing here you would have to research and maybe as you are touching say a half inch area to an inch area you could probably pull that area apart and then keep it separated by using some type of wedge or spacer in between. And maybe the thing that you could touch onto the side that you are wanting to heat up where do you want the blue to come loose could be a metal bar for your adding heat to one side of it but like I said I would only touch certain amount of contact area and you would have to do it a lot less or lightly I guess I don't know but it's just a concept.
If you don't have a heat gun use a hair dryer 1o 2 minutes depending how close if you don't have a hair dryer put it on your car dash in direct sun 1/2 hour
I love my LG v40 and cannot seem to part with it. Need new battery. Where do I get it from??..also my cam going out. I had phone almost 4 years ... Used to work with phones and out of all LG superior to me. Hate to see them go. They could come back in a big way!!
It's a glue tape, so some is usually left behind after you remove the old battery. It should be enough to hold it in. You can buy phone adhesive tape (search for that item name) from Amazon if you'd like extra. The G8 used too much glue/tape and was a pain to remove. A little goes a long way.
Why did you put the back plate on without even putting that black piece back in and all the screws? You started to put it in, but at the end of the video, it was still sitting there and all the screws, and you glued the back cover back on. Is none of that necessary?
Aside from LG stylo 4 is there any other battery that is compatible for V40? With higher capacity? Like the battery from G8? Is it possible to use a different battery with same size but higher capacity?
@@djjagg6481 bro I bought it and it turned out to be 3300mah. But they said it was 4500 and the label on the battery said 6800. I used accubattery app and it showed 3200. I requested a refund which they accepted. I'd go with an oem LG battery

Agreed
sweet screw driver. thanks for showing the approach for warming back cover before removal.

Appreciate this video 👍
What tool do you use initially to get the back off?
Hello. Thank you for the video. Is the back cover of the phone always replaceable? Or can it be carefully removed and not damaged?
You can remove it carefully.
So new back cover come with New glass so i dont have to install remove old one and put new one?

I bought one recently on Amazon. Good reviews. Haven't installed it yet though, watching video to learn how.@@FaiAh_Fly
Thank you! This video is what I needed!
U welcome
I saw the exact same battery model for the v40 but it had 5000 mah on AliExpress. Will it work
No music. Tell us what you're doing and what to watch out for.
for this phone, lg v40 thinq, is the battery that easy to remove, or is it really glued down a lot, and a lot tougher
당신의 동영상이 배터리 교환에 큰 도움이 됐습니다 Very good
I have no idea what you are doing with what around edges of phone..can you kindly explain? thanx!
Where did u buy batteries for LG phones?
From quick fix
What's this for the water proofing?
Absolute excellent video
The battery isn't glued?

Horrible handling... And i guess you no longer need the wireless charging :) Although useful to see the battery model I need :) Thanks

Can u change battery lg v50 to v40?
No. Lg stylo 4, lg Q8 and lg v40 thin Q have the same battery
Be careful the battery is taped in pretty good...I cracked back cover but cheap fix

No
@@QuickFixMN Wrong. I put a AceSoft 6990mah battery into my phone.

@@Tarzan429 I've seen those from eBay... Are they good and durable? What model is your phone? I only have seen models 4400mAh for the LG V40

How come people don't explain what they are doing? Would make it easier to follow along.
that would take more effort than just editing and time lapsing video and adding shitty music over it.
Nice video, but i also put the screws back.
totally trashed the cable for fingerprint scanner.
No good brother
