Does it work at 50' in real life outside? I have to be within 20 feet and use 3 foot level as background to see green line in sunlight of my current laser level. I found red sight bore and level on pier worked better for 30x60 foundation. For inside work, they are great. I think the red shows up better personally and color blind coworkers see the red better too. Plumb is up and down vertical, level is horizontal.
I've used this in mid day sun at about 25'. Much further than that and it becomes difficult to see. Inside it definitely works very well. If you can use this outside early in the morning or later in the evening it will reached a lot further.
Neat gadget, it should come in very handy for your next outbuilding construction to level the footers to each other and to plumb the posts/walls.

Rechargeable, but I don't think you can replace it..
