companion utility power - alpha compy 5% more power, mount bonuses - shepherds devotion for the ally movement buff. those are the only differences i use instead. great guide and i like how you justify selections with data and or solid reasoning 😃.
The main reason I don't recommend Alpha Compy is that its ridiculously overpriced due to being obsolete (for now), which is out of reach for the majority of the players. Since u're already using it, then more power to u ^^
I was using Shepherd's Devotion for a while after m16 dropped. Even with 50% costing Dailies, the uptime on the buff is nowhere near as high as it was pre-m16 with Disruptive Shot. Forest Ghost can proc the buff if u cancel it half-way though....

Trapper is still pretty fun when built right.
Personally if you use throw caution and it’s feat you get a 20 percent buff for all abilities. Slot that encounter power over hindering. You will basically have a 100 percent up time of a 20 percent damage boost as throw caution does not have a long cool down. That’s my preference
20% buff does sound nice but u also have to take the loss of magnitude from switching out the power. Throw Caution's magnitude is only 70.
If u take out Hindering Strike, u're losing 330 magnitude. With Throw Caution buffing only for 5 seconds, it is not worth the trade. Since Flurry doesn't refresh itself and if u spread it out evenly in the rotation, cooldown is a non-issue with Boar Charge, Hindering Strike, and Marauder's Rush slotted.

I did castle never solo yesterday sume.... had to use a physical companion because I needed something to get combat advantage with.... bulette pup wasn’t cutting it. A few scrolls used but mostly to get the learning curve. 1st boss was super easy. Second spawns a couple adds... little bit harder. Orcus was relatively simple. Just had to time the dodges. Hardest parts of the dungeon were the places where there was a lot of adds. If being honest, overall it was easier in this mod than it was in mod 15. Completed it in 57 minutes which included the time it took to redo areas and tweak my character. Cheers
Good job. The game is in a constant state of unbalance where the content is either too hard or too easy.
While it may be possible to solo some epic dungeons again, my little adventure on that front ended with MSP in the previous mod xD

I have a similar build, but I run Thorn Strike, Boar's Charge, and Hindering Strike. Boar's Charge > Thorn Strike > Hindering Strike > Thorn Strike > (rinse and repeat) = 100% Flurry up-time, even without the recovery boon.

Ahh i was gonna ask if you have already tried the mechanics of the Feat: Deft Strike ... The one where u switch from range to melee rotation using 6 encounter powers. I mean have you personally tried that and do math with it? Like will it yield to a higher dps than using the Feat:Blade Hurricane mechanic a.k.a your "Flurry" mechanic??
I know sometimes it gets boring using thesame skill rotation over and over again.. do u somehow atleast tried using the switching stances mechanic with your fast fingers??
Hi! Yes, I have tried it recently in the new trial on preview. I mathed out the magnitude per rotation and the hybrid one takes about 1 sec longer to complete but the dps is quite decent. However, Melee Warden still does more damage :/
Buffing Deft Strike by 5-10% and AotS by 1-2% per stack should put the 2 builds much closer to each other.
Correct me if I’m wrong but, combat advantage does not mean fighting someone that’s not facing you, it means fighting someone that has an ally of yours on the opposite side of your target..(flanking). So if my target is facing me, but my teammates are behind him, I have CA right?
That is 100% correct.

Im wondering since the At wills and the Daily deals lightning damage if specing into INT instead of STR how would that affect your damage output
Good question!
When it comes to comparing STR to INT, u would have to look at ur overall damage output and see which is and isn't affected by STR/INT.
Using the ACT data I provided in this video as an example, encounters and Grasping Roots (STR based) usually make up about 45-50% while at-wills and daily altogether (INT based) are usually 35-40%. In this case, STR is better than INT. In all of my runs where I had ACT recording the combat log, encounters always came out ahead of at-wills and daily.
To expand on this question further, investing into both STR and INT at the cost of DEX is harder to determine. I have tested this and found that it is better to stay with STR and DEX. The 1.5% damage increase from INT on at-wills and daily is a tiny bit less than the 3% crit severity from DEX even when combat advantage is taken into account. Crit severity also boosts the damage of Doohickey which makes up a large portion of the overall damage output and that seals the deal.

Tales of Old: Dread Vault is currently not properly balanced so I'll wait for them to fix it first. There's a bug where the journal is un-equippable. When I do get the 3rd journal, I'll use envenomed for personal dps and frozen for group buff, depending on the content. The Orcus set stays of course :)

I have a doubt. How to unlock in the section of companions, in power, the Enhancements? I get Unlocks at rank 30 and I don't know what he means.

Welcome!
Unlocks at lvl 30 probably refers to the paragon selection. The companion enhancement power comes with each companion that u bind to ur character. For Potency, Cold Iron Warrior and Water Archon are one of the cheapest sources to get it.

If you mean trapper as in almost zero cooldowns, the melee warden ranger gives you that(melee stance). If you meant as in swapping stances to use a range encounter, then melee, and so on, you can still do that but you'll be dealing less damage.
The two main things about Trapper are cooldown reduction and Thorned Roots damage. They are now split in half between the two paragons: Hunter has Thorned Roots and Warden has the CDR. The Trapper we used to have is mostly dead, unfortunately.
T. Sume yeah trying to figure out a way down the hunter path to use low cooldown root powers to make it semi viable. Can’t stand this being punished for even changing stances thing
Yo man t.sume. Does the dark enchantment really make a big difference on augment companions? Or should a quartermaster or tactical be better?
Are u going to run ToMM? If yes, Tactical is highly recommended but not needed. 20%-30% incoming healing is good enough. I use a mix of Dark and Tactical and one QM for all content.
Do you know the actual number output that is added to your stats with only the dark enchantment influence added

Curious about call of the storm, as you were mentioning it. Is there an optimal rotation after casting it since it procs off of the next ability used? Need clarification if you don't mind. Thanks
Correct me if im wrong, but it procs off all your attacks (at wills/encounters/dailies) for the duration of 10 secs
Is DEX(severity) better than CHA(companion influence) ? Need you opinion. Good video.
DEX is better than CHA if u have already cap ur main offensive stats (arpen, crit, and accuracy). With maxed Bolster (15%), 1% Companion Influence should give about 60 to all stats except HP from a legendary augment companion. 1% crit severity is better than 60 power and 60 combat advantage.

Do you recommend running 3 journals if you have them, or run 2 journals and either staff of flowers or trobriands ring?
2 journals + one 3k power artifact is very close to equipping 3 journals. That 1% from Lostmauth Vengeance makes up for the lower power. I prefer 3 journals because of the extra HP.
What would you recommend to use instead of the staldorf because my ca is capped? I was thinking netherese arcanist. I was also thinking about replacing the staldorf with the mercenary and putting a barbarian shaman in utility
Are u balancing ur stats for LoMM? If ur CA is capped then I recommend the Batiri while waiting for the Alpha Compy to be obtainable again.
For mod 17, Staldorf, as well as the Zhentarim Warlock, will help u balancing ur stats for the new trial. The Batiri will be BiS there as well.
The Netherese Arcanist is actually not good because the bonus damage is given in the form of a separate proc and it can only damage one target at a time even if u attack multiple enemies at the same time from behind.
@@TSuwantemee does that mean the executioners black attire is not as good as the fured kiuno because it does a second hit to all enemies. Plus i can get rid of the shadowstalker +4 for the ebonized ring?
@@Sagittarius42069 The Black Attire is currently bugged and hits all enemies from a long range. It isnt, however, limited to one target per proc like the Netherese Arcanist.
From what I've seen in ACT, the Black Attire is very close to the Kiuno, sometimes 1% more but even then I don't think it's worth losing other stats for using such a low lvl gear as well as the Guild Mark cost.
You can definitely go that route but keep in mind that there are new rings and companion gears coming in mod 17 where the stats will need to be rebalanced again for the new trial.

Another question, why storm strike instead of Rapid strike?
The biggest reason is that Storm Strike does more dmg per flurry than Rapid Strike. Rapid Strike still has the problem of occasionally stuttering between the 1st and 3rd hit of the combo.
Have you considered the UPTIME on CA during a dungeon run to know if its that worth to stack CA at all cost to reach the cap instead of putting those stats into power?
The uptime of CA depends largely on how the player plays. All enemies in the latest endgame dungeon, Lair of the Mad Mage, can be flanked. If u want to top dps, u gotta position urself to get CA as much as possible. CA is worth less than Power if u're a solo player. In group content, it is definitely worth it to stack CA.
When capped, CA basically gives u 100% extra critical severity as long as u have it. But of course, this stat is subjected to diminishing returns alongside critical severity when both are active.
@@TSuwantemee from my ACT my flank% average is about 60% top, even when i try my best to go behind my targets (playing HR too) so i wonder if its not better to have my 95K CA and just go power instead of try harding capping CA, thoughts?
@@cust0mx155 For trashmobs that die quickly, CA doesn't matter as much because many of ur hits won't have CA and all of that brings down ur overall flank %. Try recording ACT only during the Worm and Trobriand fight, assuming u have a good tank that can hold aggro.
It is certainly not easy deciding whether to stack Power or CA when ur available sources of stats are limited. In my build, I prioritize Power over CA where possible, such as the enchantment in offense slots, Mount Equip Power and Insignias.
I don't know how much Power u have but when u already have a lot of it, like 160k, I recommend to shave off some for CA without making any big changes. Keep Radiant/Black Ice in offense slots and Empowered on companion gears.
Have you tried endouring boots and the the ring that gives you 3% dmg melee increase, with fured kiuno and the shirt with dmg increase? Works better than heels of fury and fured, 9 dmg increase vs 12
No, because the 3% from high stamina gears doesn't stack. So if you have both the Enduring Boots and Ebony Stained Shirt equipped, you will only get 3% instead of 6%.
Hey, if I can’t get hand on a Vorpal (cause is expensive). Is Lightning enchantment a good option?
Lighting is a lot better
any weapon enchant will do better compared to not having one, but vorpal would be the one you would get the most use of.
Have you tried the energon as summoned? Idk if it is better because of the massive stat loss, but, you will be able to keep CotS up more often. Do u think its worth it?
For the build that he showed, he mentioned that dailies are not a big/important source of damage for his ranger, so I dont think he would ever consider taking out his augment for that reason alone. Also, from his ACT he showed that most of his damage are from storm strike, and then encounters.

Why Decanter and not Soul Sight Crystal at single target?
Decanter gives 10% buff for ~30 secs against all targets while SSC gives 25% for 10 secs against one target. Going by those numbers, Decanter is more reliable in any situation whereas SSC has a rather niche use against certain bosses and ineffective for trash mobs. For these reasons, I recommend slotting Decanter as primary all the time.
I'm returning to the game after 1 year and i noticed that there is no more life steal. How do you regain life when doing your campaigns solo? Is it only with potions or stones of health?
Also what would be a good weapon set that is easy enough to acquire?
Besides the ones you mentioned, Bloodtheft enchantment and mount insignia bonuses are also very helpful for self-healing.
The easiest up-to-date weapon set to get is Mountaineer with trade bars but it has a bad set bonus. 2nd easiest would be the Burnished set via farming LoMM. The Burnished set bonus is decent in group content. The other ones that are generally better involve RNG.
What if I was to take some of the boom points out of areas like maybe HP, and put points into the 5% damage to monster types?
That is quite a thoughtful idea and one that should be considered for future content.
Currently, none of the bosses in LoMM belongs to any monster type. For older dungeons like CR and Tomb, the enemies have been power crept to the point that u can quickly kill them with or without the slayer boons. I prefer to have my boons actively providing usable bonuses as much as possible for any content. Besides capping Tenebrous damage, higher HP means more healing received from insignia set bonuses. It can also be a deciding factor whether u live or die after destroying all 4 pillars in Trobriand fight in the absence of a blue HP bar (shield) from an Oathkeeper paladin.
Of course, ur experience may differ so if the above scenario doesn't apply to u, then I recommend u create a separate loadout with the slayer boon(s) selected for the appropriate content that u play.

CotS daily - lightning enchanted weapon - is this affected by INT (magic damage)? Also which encounters/ at wills are affected by INT and not STR?
Yes, CotS is magical. Anything that says "physical" or "projectile" is considered physical. Everything else should be magical. Besides CotS, Split the Sky, extra hit from the end of the Storm Strike combo, Clear the Ground and Electric Shot are all magical damage.

@@2xshady Yes, in the past. They come from the Tales of Old event which is time-limited. Needless to say, a lot of people missed out on it and no one really knows whether the past ones will be returning or not.

Sorry but I don't write up my build in text. I make build videos and that's about it. There are many similar melee warden builds out there made by others.
I wouldn't even call the build I make mine because Mod 16 really cut down the variety so much that most optimal dps builds are just cookie cutter. What I do in my build videos is providing additional information on various things that may or may not be clearly defined based on the tooltips and common knowledge.

@@bad281 The feats setup is the same for lvl 70 except the ones that are locked: Focused, Storm's Recovery, Blade Hurricane and Skirmisher's Gambit.
Was thinking tenser would be better than swarm now? Cause 10% power is like 17% more damage right?
Tenser Disk buffs ur power from base only which is ur stat without the companion summoned. Using my base power as an example, it is about 120k. 10% of 120k is 12k. Adding 12k power to my total 176k power gives me about 4.3% damage increase. 2 STR is 0.5% more damage to most all the melee ranger's dps.
These numbers are not close to Swarm's 5% buff and 5% dr debuff.

@@Larsyoutoo Short answer: No, the Apprentice set bonus is practically inferior to the Orcus set in any situation.
Long answer (because I like to explain) is...
The bonus damage against enemies not facing u comes in the form of an additional proc This is already bad enough as this type of damage tends to get "lost" due to internal cooldown when u're dealing damage from numerous sources at once.
The other problem is the uptime. Having to flank the enemies AND using a daily to get the buff going means u're unlikely to get much out of it from trash mobs. Against bosses which typically have a lot of HP, the Orcus set is unrivaled in that situation.
I recorded someone using the Apprentice set with ACT and it was around 1% of his dps.
On the subject of bonus damage against enemies not facing u, the Executioner's Black Attire and the Netherese Arcanist companion share the same problem/downfall with the Apprentice set bonus. The latter can only proc on one target at a time even if u hit multiple ones in the back.
I highly recommend that u save ur AD and RP while waiting for a new and better set to dethrone Orcus.

I’m guessing from what he said in the video about watcher set is that it is better but not worth the cost unless you have nothing else to grind for

executioner's black attice deals AoE damage. Weirdly. For example, if you deal melee damage to a mob, you deal extra %5 of that damage(at-will and encounter, not doohickey) to the mob and to the other mobs not facing you. I couldn't test executioner vs kiono bc i lack of pearl ring so i have to cap acc with ebonized ring tho.
I've heard of that weird bug with the Black Attire. Still, that chest piece is even older than the Kiuno (less overall stats). If the damage bonus works the same way as Seeker's Vengeance, then it might be worth the consideration. But because it isn't, the Kiuno is better.
@@TSuwantemee Actually it works like that. I'll give you two example; i'm soloing, using marauders rush to a single target and i deal%5 of that damage to other 2 mobs of the slot. Another one; in a party, dealing damage and i can notice i deal %5 of damage to other mobs like how vengeance works. Best part is you don't have to hit them, the bonus does this like it's kind of magic lol. As i said i didnt test it and can't test. Just wanted to inform whoever uses or thinks using of it.
@@Tgyarslan It doesn't work the same way as vengeance in that the damage bonus appears as an additional separate proc, like the fire buff from the Wheel of Elements. This is not as good as being calculated with the base damage. The bug with the Black Attire dealing damage to multiple targets from far away is clearly not intended and should not be used as the basis for judging whether it's better or worse than the Kiuno.
I'm determined to make trapper work. With me quitting my pally ranger is all I have. I can always start from the beginning as a rogue but uggh to much time and work put into game alread
I share ur passion for the Trapper playstyle. Hopefully, it will become competitively viable in the future. My 2nd main class is Paladin and it is in a very good spot with decent dps on both the healer and tank path. Best of the three healers as well as of the three tanks.
I know that sounds a bit hard to believe but I only have my reputation to back up that claim at the moment. If I expand my channel guide to cover another class, I'm afraid I may not have time to play the game itself haha.
@black viking Trappers well viable dude, I've ran a pvp spec one up to Fbi level in pugs & breezed through stuff. I've had 1 sw out dps me so far, highend dungeons might be different but I can't see why it would be.
@@dumbasslive2515 we're you ton dps or past 10 mill I can only get to 10 mill while other classes hit 18 thru 30 and up mill.

Each augment comes with its own bonus stats. Bullete Pup has 1k power, 1k defense and 1k CA. Before transferring to ur character, each of these bonus stats then gets multiplied by augmentation (100%) and bonding runestones, up to a maximum of 3.1k.

Vorpal increases Crit Severity, not the Crit Chance
@@Krum808 whenever you activate daily power increase you critical strike by 3000 for 10 sec. my critical strike not increase, and vorpal increase my critical severity like lighting

because you are on ps4 and on he is on pc, not all the screens are the same on all platforms
Do the companions have to all be completely leveled up to get the full stats?
@@coledavis8161 For the companion u summon, yes. For other things like Bolster and equip powers, only the quality or color matters.

There are a couple of other things I'd like to ask you after watching your video I was still not finished with the campaign, so I ask did you change any gear yet like the 950 gear that drops also I'm dibbing back and forth over my stats which are unbalanced could you please tell me what are the caps on all stars I've looked them up but can't find any info. I had 6 empowered runes I was 140k power but had to switch out 2 for recondite. It helped a little. Why not lightning weapon enchantment?
The lightning weapon enchantment does nothing on single target besides the 5% bonus damage which all weapon enchantments have. Even on trash mobs, the lightning arc's magnitude is way too low and unreliable. It is better to have a single weapon enchantment for all situations for the ease of use and this spot goes to Vorpal for now.

Yes if ur current power is 176k. The more power u have, the better the % buff is than stacking more power.

How did u test CHA against DEX in terms of damage?
With Storm's Recovery and the Recovery Speed boon, the gap between each rotation should be less than a second, almost zero actually. So it can't be cooldown.
Companion Influence is 0.5% per point. We have a total of 6 movable points from lvl 10, 20, 40, 50, 70 and 80 so that's 3% CI. 3% CI gives me about 180 points to all stats (the amount depends on ur Bolster and both the type and rank of the summoned companion), of which power and CA are really what we're concerned about. 180 power and 180 CA is not better than 3% critical severity to me. Also, extra movement speed is underrated because I think it matters when u have to move around a lot to gain positional CA as well as to get behind enemies for Seeker's Vengeance.
