Thanks for the great review. Yes, I have the Walmart version on the back of my travel trailer. Been there 20 years this coming May. Takes a licking and keeps on ticking. But, yes, the support webbing gives away either from rust or from trailer bounce with a heavy generator.😢 Gord
The nice thing, Gord, is that will never happen with this carrier. It is solid steel plate and beautifully fabricated. I don't think I could damage this thing if I tried with a sledgehammer.
I get nervous about hanging anything on the back of my rig. For now I have enough space in the truck bed to haul what I carry but as I start to ramp up my travels I may need something like this. Nice job on the review.
Hey Marc, the "metal webbing" in the industry is known as "expanded metal". Great video, as you mentioned, it's not inexpensive, but the quantity of Torklift products is high end. Safe travels my friend. Sean
Looks much more solid. “Expanded Metal” looked like it was just tack welded, if that much, on the old one. Looks like you got your money’s worth. Ram 👍🏼👍🏾
Mark I can’t tell for sure but the locking bar over the top in the middle it appears there is two bolts with nuts make sure they can’t just unbolted very ease .
That is a classy looking and robust cargo carrier!
We couldn't get over how well built the thing is, Gerald.
Nice .. Had that one you had... We had the same problem.. Thanks Marc..
You bet coming Timothy! This one is built like a freight train. It will outlast the RV.
That's one heavy duty carrier. Your right, sometimes it's best to pay for the best. Thanks Don
It sure would've saved us a few headaches over the years, Don.

@@GrandAdventure Yes, Marc, it looks like a lifetime unit for sure. But I would leave the sledge at home. 😉

Thank you BBB!
Nice review of a very useful and well made product. Thanks!
Thanks you two!

Same to you, Sean! During last night's Premiere chat, Jim from Gypsy Mountaineers first introduced me to the "expanded metal" term. Thanks for that!

No doubt. The old one owes me nothing, but the new one should be with us for a good long time.

Those bolts are even optional. However, no -- the interlocking of those bars is designed in such a way that it can't simply be removed.
As you said, sometimes you get what you paid for.I don't mind paying for quality products.
We completely agree, Kurt. I, however, sometimes have to learn the hard way. 😁
