Wow wow wow. I learned a ton very quickly today. I immediately put this in my T Shirt inventory workbook to rank my shirt designs by topic/folder name, from highest number of designs per topic to lowest, then alphabetical. I have been doing this manually every time I add a design, which is tiresome and tedious. Thanks so much for the great instructions to make this function clear.
an issue i have found is that when i try and sort cells that have data that as been aquired by formulas it gives a spill error, it works fine if the data is just simply typed in but as soon as i try and sort cells that use formulas to get that data it isnt happy, is there a way to work around this?
Beautiful explanation. Crisp and clear. Keep it up.
Illustration that audience/student shall find it simple and clear to follow. The English articulation is excellent. Thank you!!

Great.
Thank You.
Sir, I use Office 2019 but the short formula is not seen here. I will benefit if the solution is given.
Sorry, but it’s currently only available in Excel 365.
i had 7000 rows with 5 column only numbers no text data, sorting ascending order, it did not work at all.
That’s odd.
Which version of Excel do you have?
