Also i liked the Gary Busey inspired horn WAH,WAH,WAH. Seemed like those dudes just rolled over when they heard it. Too cool.

Killer video and very impressive riding , your line choice is second to none, and ability to choose when to pass and when hold up is spot on. Just a jealous old B rider here, but happy for you, Braap On!
Good job. Hats off to your fitness, that bike is a beast in the tight stuff. I ran over my tongue just watching. That’s some pretty tough passing in there with how bumpy it was, hard to get creative with the lines. Commit... Bump, bump, “Oh, Hi Tree!” 🤣
Can’t remember last time I have annoyed 1.5 hrs of video that much! What a smart ride. Makes me miss it but I think it’s just because you make it look easier than it really is. Don’t miss hurting for 3-days from all the late race braking and acceleration bumps!
Bob Powell it definitely takes several days for the body to stop hurting! I pretty much raced every weekend after the covid restrictions lifted. I was sure ready for the end of the season to get here. Thanks for watching, I’m glad you enjoyed it.
dang dude, not that you weren't smooth, but you were on some rails finding every way you can get around people. that was awesome! i'm sitting here "no go right go right!" but that line doesnt exist yet lol. 20:40 "all that work to get around them guys" sounds like the dad saying "all that work to get around those semis"
LukeBrinkerhoff thanks! That was definitely intense! I had so much fun out there and that’s what it’s about! I made a lot of extra work for myself with the bad start, passing was pretty crazy out there!
Great video! There are a few technical sections there, but the hardest part is definitely threading the needle through traffic. Some scary passes in the woods! I'm in southern IL - have gone there to watch the MX National, but not the GNCC. I wonder if that area is available to ride on weekends when races are not running...gonna give them a call.

You ain’t shy are ya? You have fantastic vision with a 10 pound sack of nuts. This was the best race I’ve watched yet. Watch out Billy Bolt….. Rick Burton’s wide open
Just tipping my toes in the woods racing scene, but how you spot those hot lines and take them so quickly and confidently is mind blowing. Also was the delayed start intentional?
Scanning the trail far ahead of the riders in front of you helps to find the hot lines. I miss a lot of them along the as well! Instinct and confidence helps too. As far as the start, I flat out blew it. I would have been glad to have gotten out front and pushed for a better overall. It made for some good video though. It’s hard to know when your bike actually starts with all the other bikes next to you. The 2 strokes always fire sooner than most of the big bore 4 strokes. With that being said, you must be very conservative when you grab a hand full of throttle. A split second too soon and it’s a total flame out. I must ensure my bike is completely started before hittting the throttle. Thank for the comment and best of Luck to you.
Howie's Adventures that’s good to hear! I was a moto guy back in the day as well. I love riding in the woods. It’s more of a endurance thing and you really need to make good line choices in the wet season. Moto is usually rehearsed (many laps around the same track) woods is processing the trail as you ride it for the first time while trying to be fast and conserve energy. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment!
Your suspension looks really plush, really nice! So good job on bike set up. I assume it’s too soft for huge jumps but really saves the spine in the woods.
Benjamin Hawkhurst thank you. MX-Tech does a real good job with the suspension. It has a pretty aggressive set up, much stiffer than stock. It’s very stable and has very good bottoming resistance.
A Walker I had just passed the leader and he had given me a shoutout. I gave him a thumbs up. We had changed positions a couple times during that first lap.
I am curious if you had some of those alternate lines picked out from pre-race walk-through? That’s what I did when I was young , but didn’t have the memory to do that by the time I was in over 40 class.
Bob Powell I didn’t walk any of it before the race. Normally I try to walk the courses. It really helps, but this race I got there late and didn’t have time. Thanks for the comment Bob.
Carl Bennett no we have a couple more local races- IXCR and CrossroadsXC to race this year. I’m going to spend a few days riding the Hatfield McCoy trail system and then take a break until round 1 NEPG.
MR JawMaster it only made it a little over an 1 1/2 hours on this one before it died. I don’t use the WiFi also, that drags it down some. I know after a while you need to get a new battery. My old camera (Hero2) would go 2 hours until it got old. I bought a new battery and and was good for awhile, until I lost it!
