6x12 Moto trailer conversion, space saver shower, A/C, propane furnace, haul 4 bikes.
I set out to built a conversion trailer to comfortably camp at the races and still have the ability to haul 4 bikes when needed. I needed a shower and I believe I came up with one of the best shower designs possible for a small trailer. I wanted an air conditioner but didn’t want a big one on the roof. I went with a small window unit that I could easily power with my small 2500 watt gen. I fit the AC into a compartment that can be opened when in use. This trailer took a lot of work. It was very time consuming to get everything to fit in a small area. The tongue weight came in at 450 lbs when loaded with 2 bikes, gear, generator, 30 gal of water, propane (only 1 tank full) and a heavy tool box. Total weight was 3,500. My plan was to sell the Diesil Truck and pull with a small suv or minivan. The tongue weight is an issue but I could alleviate that with moving the battery to the back and removing the propane tanks up front. I ended up buying a sprinter van and I am currently building it and utilizing the shower design. Hope this design helps with your own build. Who knows, for the right price I would consider selling this one. Would not consider anything less than $10k

    Just did a Duromax 440 swap on a 1999 EZGO workhorse this summer, the old engine was seized. these Duromaxes only make around 15hp stock (the 18hp is miscalculation of RPM X Torque). I'm running a stage 3 engine with a mikuni carb valve springs and a bigger cam. i have 23 inch tires and it went 26 miles per with the stock 12.44:1 gears and the engine at 5800 rpm. after the 8:1 gear swap (best thing to ever happen for this cart). it goes 35-40 mph with no loss in acceleration. These druromaxes are much more stout compared to predators and have better tolerances. i have taken this engine over 6000 rpm stock before the stage 3 install and kept it 5500 for minutes before without any negative effects. I still have the same problem as you however, where it is just so damn loud, I put a tiny 80cc moped silencer with an exhaust hole the size of dime and it did not quiet down a bit. one thing you did that i wish i did was keep the stock clutch, I went with a 780 series comet and it has caused me many issues because i'm still using the stock driven. But overall this is an awesome build you made and from what I experienced the more power and performance based items you put on your cart the less drivable it becomes at normal golf cart speeds. would love to see more people doing 440 swaps as they are so much cheaper than a V-Twin swap.

    Correct me if I’m wrong but aren’t you running the transmission in reverse to go forward because of the clockwise rotation of the factory engine? If that is the case how is the trans and holding up? I’ve read on forums that people say the gears won’t oil properly running in reverse but I never saw someone say they had tried the swap and it worked.

    • @IRBB484
      @IRBB484 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The older club carts ran in the clockwise direction (like most engines) I’m not sure what year it changed but mine is a 1990. I do know a few that run their cart in reverse to go forward and have had good success.

    Just tipping my toes in the woods racing scene, but how you spot those hot lines and take them so quickly and confidently is mind blowing. Also was the delayed start intentional?

    • @IRBB484
      @IRBB484 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Scanning the trail far ahead of the riders in front of you helps to find the hot lines. I miss a lot of them along the as well! Instinct and confidence helps too. As far as the start, I flat out blew it. I would have been glad to have gotten out front and pushed for a better overall. It made for some good video though. It’s hard to know when your bike actually starts with all the other bikes next to you. The 2 strokes always fire sooner than most of the big bore 4 strokes. With that being said, you must be very conservative when you grab a hand full of throttle. A split second too soon and it’s a total flame out. I must ensure my bike is completely started before hittting the throttle. Thank for the comment and best of Luck to you.
