I know several persons that work for the EDD office and the Department of Labor. Some of the Filipino ladies that work at the EDD office here in California told me the national unemployment rate is always 2x to 3x higher than what the government reports! They have been lying about the true, real unemployment numbers for decades, she told me.

That’s a wild video title. There is nothing wrong with putting your faith into God and staying optimistic. Never say never! I will however say that Indeed is a scam. Switch up your job search platform or apply on the main company websites.

Nope. Just the reality of what companies have been doing since 1998 with the H1B Visa Scam in IT.

I do agree that i have seen lots of tech and engineering jobs around me all going to Indian people who barely speak english. The warehouse I'm working for was hiring 5 engineers earlier this year. And they hired all indians from out of the city, lol.

It's really scary to hear that Elon is pushing for more H1B, as right now lets try to train up those without work and are willing to learn?

The elites are USING H1Bs to drive down salaries, erase the middle class, and create a new class of indentured slave labor that will replace all Americans. We have to push back against this and end all immigration or we will be replaced by Indian serfs who will be happy to live and work at the office for 90 hours a week for peanuts.

You’re competing against millions of cheap immigrants, and it’s gotten to the point that the HR people and managers are immigrants too that would prefer to hire someone that speaks Hindi.

Job market is going to get even tougher, and I’ve pretty much given up on looking for another tech job and started doing Uber and other gig work 2 months ago.

I was born in the early 50s. With just 1 uni degree I was fully employed for 45 years. 70s 80s 90s 2000s were boom years. I worry for my children future.

It has been tough this year finding work, until something came through in October, thankfully.
It has been hard even getting paid for work done, and it seems as though these employers are seeking the world, yet it is a race to the bottom, in my opinion. A great deal is demanded for sub $18.00 per hour.
Tech totally sucks too. I now feel that all that retooling I did in 2023 was kind of an expensive waste of effort.
Although I am working, I can feel everyone’s frustration and am really sick of this B.S. Still waiting to learn of compelling reasons as to why it even makes sense to stay in this country.

This reminds me of 1980-2. 1980 was a job desert. 1981was slow but a bit better. 1982 was much easier.

Except if you account for automation and where it will be in 2+ years, we probably won't see that bounce back. It'll probably just get worse.

The issue is that there is less money in the economy in general due to the Boomer generation entering into retirement and spending less.
The working cohort will need to look outside side of those sectors that have been supported by the Boomers' spending power, and instead focus on those industries that are in their ascendance, like the heathcare, defence (including cybersecurity) and energy sectors.
