I fully understand the times he's being humorous, but many people seem to think he's playing a character or something of that nature, which he isn't. The original comment made it sound like this is some advanced 20-minute long comedic display, which it isn't. The dude is legitimately explaining why he prefers his water this way.
Dude, do you have a hard time reading? I fully, 100% understand his sense of humor. Yes, it's in his videos, but most of this video in particular is NOT humorous. Have you watched it recently? If anything, some of these comments are actually insulting, acting like his authentic persona is a comedic act, like they're essentially laughing at who he is as a person. And if you don't understand that most of this video isn't intentionally humorous, I'd probably add you to that group. When he says things like "his water drinking career", "secret Starbucks connections/access to mysteries of the universe" "thirst-busting receptacle" or something, yes, that's intended as humorous, but it's surrounded by authentic commentary... which is most of the video. Oh... I AM A REGULAR WATCHER.
And I absolutely do think he was comparing the taste of water unironically. Like he said, there's subtle differences in the taste of water. If you don't agree with that I'd question if your taste buds are functioning properly (there was a bit of sarcasm there, fyi). Starbucks does has "triple-filtered" water, and it does in fact taste better than most bottled water. Hilarious, right?

Theres actually an interesting angle to this... I had a guy who worked at Starbucks explain to me that since coffee/tea is 99.9% water it is essentially the main ingredient in 99% of what they sell, therefore all Starbucks have strict quality control of their water. It is extremely well filtered and maintained, so you absolutely have a point about the taste quality. And they give it away free!
Unless it's a licensed store in which case it's single filtered normal tap water

@@TheNikOnder Afaik it's basically any store that's in another store location like the one closest to me is inside an Acme grocery store off to the side but I've been told in certain strip mall style areas it can still be licensed to the location the safest bet I would assume is just go to one that's just it's own building isolated from other stores
Very interesting. I highly recommend getting a water filter, that filters out fluoride etc. It makes such a big difference in the taste etc. Its much easier to drink and tastes much better. I recommend AlexaPure. Been using it for almost 20 years. Everyone who comes over says the water is amazing at my house.
@@DreamyShepherdnot true at all. Even licensed stores are triple filtered, otherwise they wouldn't be able to use the Starbucks licensing. I've known a few licensed stores that have been unable to open because they couldn't get a triple filtered system working properly

When you eat a bag of chips you are consuming fat, salt and sugar and you know is bad so you make excercise so you dont get unhelathy but WATER, you hope to be healty drinking it if it doesnt tastes normal with logic its pretty normal to get concerned

Honestly, not drinking bottled water for the first 15 years of my life seems to have made me sensitive to the plasticky taste of bottled water. Every single brand in a plastic bottle (from nestle to Fiji) tastes of plastic.

I'm a barista and I can confirm, Starbucks has the best water!!! It's triple filtered, which is important because we use the water as the base for our drip brews, teas, americanos, etc. Quality starts at the base!!!
I believe it's also softened, which will also improve the taste. Next to pro filtering, Starbucks is about as good as you can get for filtered water.

I actually used to work for Starbucks and one of the things they prided themselves on was their water. They filter it in a very specific way to make it taste the same at every Starbucks. I always thought it was kinda interesting!

Michael Smith it depends on the Starbucks. Usually, we'll just give it to you for free, but if it's a store that's had a ton of people coming and asking for just water, they may charge you ~50¢. The store I worked at didn't charge for it though.
