I was fortune to take lessons from his vocal coach in Orlando back in the mid 90s. Jani had a club here in town around that time called Sunset Strip. Sad what ultimately happened to him.
Same here & I didn't even know he died until a few years ago! I knew he had a drinking problem but I didn't know it was that bad? Plus his demons from being raped when he was younger starting out in the business was something he could never get over! I don't think that nasty twat Bobby Brown should have put that in her book though because that was in confidence & I'm sure if he were still alive he would be so embarrassed & ashamed.... R.I.P. ⚘Jani🥀
when Jani was sober - he was an incredible frontman and singer. Very enigmatic and had incredible stage presence. And probably one of the most underrated and under appreciated songwriters of this era.
Miss 80s rock bands take me back I was senior in high school 91 I remember posion warrant def leppard journey firehouse alice cooper extreme to name a few
@Carolyn disagree.. there are plenty of people on this planet with no demons..no feelings..no emotions..no morals...no spines no worries and no cares... i see them everyday..
Jani was so awesome and beautiful. I remember him and Warrant like yesterday and I'm old now like he should have been and it makes me so sad and angry because I miss him and those days SO incredibly much. God bless. 😊✌👍
@@margomazzeo1680 when you discover real music you'll be like "ARAZZ was right!" Good song, decent group but not even close to the real good stuff. You'll know when you hear it. Cherry pie? lol. Janie Lane killed himself over that song he hated it so much. They got their 4 or 5 songs but that's it....like all the other "ok 80s bands" They were Poison's little brother.
@Queenofthegoofballs74 Well..arent you the lucky one..you know damn well..he was talking about the state of the world now..Queen of the Smarmy Shits..you are.
So I had the very fortunate opportunity to meet the band after a show they performed at Pechanga Casino in Temecula, California back in the early days when Pechanga was operating out of big tent structures. Anyway, after the show the wife and I are having dinner in the one restaurant they had and we were the only ones in there and low and behold in walks the band Warrant and sits at the table next to us. I couldn't believe it, so I stood up and walked over introduced myself and was looking Jani Lane in his eyes having a conversation with him thanking him for the great show and what a huge fan I was. The band was so nice and thanked us for coming to the show. Rock & Roll will never be the same without these great bands.
I love Jani Lane's vocals and performance in this song!!!!!! Such a deep, heart felt song that pulls you right into it and you totally understand the heart breaking in this sad scene and it completely melts you causing you to feel such an amazing compassion for the broken hearted!!!!!! This is what song's should always do, cause you to feel every bit of it!!!!!! Jani Lane was a master of doing exactly that in his song writing ability, singing and performing!!!!!! He was a genius at it!!!!!!! He's truly missed by so very many of us!!!!!!!
Jani Lane was one of the best song writer's of all time ,his music and his will live forever that's to cool radio stations and TH-cam you are missed my friend!! Still crying because of your passion lost!!
it's not easy to watch Jani preform because for a slit second I think he's still with us then I start to cry remembering he's now sanging in Heaven! I love you and miss you and your gentle soul. I miss your music
Music today is trash compared to Warrant and many 80s rock and pop music. There was a ton of good music made. Nowadays, you are lucky if a band has one average ‘hit’ and when they do it’s forgotten about in 6 months
God..I still cant believe we lost him..talented..sensitive..beautiful..funny and down to earth...the good ones always die young..RIP..Precious Jani..😭😭😭🎁🎁🎁💝💝💝😍😍😘😘🎈🎈
Yes I would say so he was under one of the most underestimated musicians of the seventies eighties and nineties he was discovered drumming he was a Pianist he was a guitar player beautiful voice and he always wore a Cross around his neck every time I ever saw him I know he's in Heaven like his song he wrote. He wrote all the songs for Warrant with some help but mostly all of them. I believe he is in Heaven like his song that's where he is God Rest his soul We love you we miss you Jani Lane You were Warrant n there is no Warrant without u! R.I.P
Knew these guys when I was in Los Angeles in the late eighties early nineties still upset that Jani is gone he was one of the nicest person just couldn't get away from his demons
Just amazing. What a singer/songwriter. I think he would have been one of those songwriters that would write for other artists and have hits. And…I also saw him as someone that current artists would work with on duets…like Taylor Swift re-recording this, and having Jani come out at a few shows of hers to sing with him. Gosh…He is missed.
I remember when they first came out and how everyone was talking about them and how fast they moved up in the charts and with that voice and good looks. Had everything going for him until drugs found him. Gone to early. Good music.
Met him 3 different times during their run with Jani and even drunk one time, he was always very nice to the fans. Damn I miss that guy. One of the very few times I shed a tear when I read of his passing.
Saw Warrant in the 90's . One of best live bands I have seen and I saw most of the major acts of the 70's and 80's. It was in a large bar and they came out way late. We were about to give up on them and leave. Jani drank an entire bottle of tequila onstage during that show. His eyes were bleary and he was surely buzzed but he never missed a note. They closed with Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" and The Clash's "Train in Vain". Just a phenomenal performance. Changed my entire view of this band.
Most underrated vocalist of the 80s. Never misses a note
hes does actually.. but i still love him..no-one is perfect

Dave Rucci hey could you please tell me who his vocal coach was?
Sometimes it's surprising how he really sounded like the albums.
He did missed many notes. Still a great singer the way he was.
Dude could sing. Rest in peace
Jani's voice is so magical he was warrant god I miss him so much

Sounds exactly the same as the recorded version every time. Excellence!

They sound incredible. Warrant was one of the best bands of the era and don’t get the credit they deserve.
