In the case of UNH it is clear it is a win-loss based on the reactions of the public online. Win-win biz models is a heavy emphasis that charlie mungers places on business models. Why don't they use market value to rate intrinsic value and NOT price as in an equity consolidation share split the price can be devalued or revalued by fiat?
ASML issue is geopolitical, their latest earnings dropped cos reduced sales to China due to sanctions by US, and China is a big portion of their revenue cos the only other buyers of their lithography machines is tsmc and Samsung, and China is forced to develope it's own lithography due to said sanctions, will ASML able to find new customers or will SMIC break into the DUV or EUV market? Only time will tell, ASML said themselves that they've hit a wall when it comes to EUV, they've reached the limit of what was possible, hence more capex needed to b spent for the next breakthrough, so a lot of uncertainties regarding its outlook hence market discounted their valuation. Monipolies can still fall, plenty of examples, esp if they stop spending on capex or R&D, or they're unable to achieve breakthrough to stay ahead As for United health, they have the highest rate of denial for medical claims in the US, whether it's ethical to profit off a company that makes profit frm deny medical claim for its patients is up to you
