I agree. It’s no comparison in the two. They are both good good and utterly different. Baccarat Rouge Extrait (very mature and heavier scent) was my first purchase. But, after smelling Delina - Original in the store I fell in love and purchased a few weeks later ( had to regather my coins ). I think samples of both would be a great start.
We sprayed both, Delina on my mum and 540 on me. We could not smell the Delina at all!!! We even did a test to see which one our family could smell later in the even and it was the MFK hands down!!!! And the sales man only sprayed 2 sprays of 540 on my neck!!! I don’t understand, why is Delina not showing up?? Does anyone else experience this?!!

I went to an event last week and pulled out a sweater and I wore over a year ago and I am not exaggerating Delina was still very present on it. I was flabbergasted! But, I will say it is so worth the buy.
I have both and love both, but I reach for Baccarat Roiuge more. I have a sample of the Baccarat Rouge 540 extrait and I plan to purchase the full bottle.
Great topic. BR540 all the way. 540 can stand alone and it’s also great for layering. It’s amazing. Delina is pretty but being a woman of a certain age it just did not fit my vibe. I gifted it to my 30’ish daughter and it smells amazing on her.
Let me telling you. I smelled 540 for the first time yesterday. I took a nice ride to King of Prussia Mall. I went into Neimans Marcus to play. I sprayed some on me inner wrist. I just took a shower and I’m still smelling the Baccarat 540!!! This freakin fragrance is amazing!!! It will more than likely be my first Niche fragrance.! So, I had to weigh in on this fragrance review of Baccarat Rouge 540 and Delina. As far as price point, (for me), I had to purchase Delina first. I waited several months before buying Baccarat Rouge 540 (although this was my first choice). It was a very tough decision but I'm glad I have both of these beautiful fragrances in my collection now. My niece, age 8, always tells me "Tee Tee you smell like a delicious snack"! 🤣🤣🤣 Usually that's my compliment for the day but I love it anytime she says it. Lmbo

I wanted 540, but it cost too much to be fleeting & I have to sniff my arm like a hound dog for the smell. I go anosmic to it. However, I have Delina & Delina Exclusif & they are THERE at all time. I LOVE THEM!!

The only reason I'm saying this is Delina is because, by default, I got it first; however br 540 is a beautiful different fragrance I have both and use BR 540 daily delina is not a daily for me
My choice is Delina. 540 smells too masculine to me. Also, it is extremely similar to Ariana Grande’s Cloud. I really wanted to like it because everyone raves about it so much, but it’s definitely not a favorite. Delina for me! Please sample before you buy! I know it’s tempting, but $300 or more is a lot of money to spend on a blind buy. If you live in an area that doesn’t have the big designer stores order a sample from So Avant Garde or Lucky Scent or Twisted Lily for like $6 or $7.
I'm a little bougie too, and I love BR540! I was happy to recently get it during Saks sale. It never leaves your clothes - it smells amazing! Delina -- really didn't suit my vibe and they're different.🙏🏾✌🏾
I agree, I personally do not like Delina, and my husband does not either..unfortunately it lasts longer than BR540, I actually get tired almost nauseous after smelling DeLina after a while

BR540 Edp also pairs nicely with Delina, but I feel the Extrait is the better compliment to Delina. BR540 Extrait is, to my nose, softly smooth and densely sweet, whereas I find the Edp more sharply bright and airy sweet. I also love spraying a bit of Not a Perfume in my hair and/or nape of my neck and between my boobs, whilst wearing Delina, BR540, and really, I love JHAG NaP as a mix or combo with most of my florals and freshies. I don’t, however, feel Not a Perfume pairs well with my gourmands, like Escapade Gourmande, Tihota, Vanille West Indies, Love & Crime, Kilian Love (LDBS). But, I have found that my bottle of Sucre Noir (Sugar Cane, Orchid, and Vanilla) is quite pretty with Delina, if you’re in the mood to sweeten up Delina a bit, bringing out more of the vanilla accord in the former. Also, another ridiculously gorgeous and wonderfully bougie combo is BR540 (Extrait and/or EDP) paired with Escapade Gourmande (my favorite 2022 fragrance, and in my top 7 all-time favorite perfumes). 👌 ***to clarify, when I “layer” perfumes, I never literally layer spray any perfume on top of another perfume. Example of how I scent mix/layer, using the original combination that we’re discussing: Delina on my left wrist + inner right elbow + back left shoulder or left side of neck. Baccarat 540 on my right wrist + inner left elbow + back right shoulder or right side of neck. If I’ve just washed my hair and before I blow dry, I’ll often times spray one or the other in my hair. I’m pretty keen to procure the hair perfume & body oil for both Delina & BR540 (I already have the body cream for both), but unless I see any hair perfume or oil reasonably discounted, it’s not likely I’d buy it for myself. So I bought the Delina Parfum De Marly and I envisioned it to be a sweet feminine scent, but it smells more like Somali fragrances where if you put too much on, it will be nauseating. I do love the hype around it.
i smell a tiny mess, but not much with BR540, and delina i just plain don't like... all i'm doing is looking for a signature scent and i'm having soooo much trouble... so far, the winner by a long shot is Tom Ford's Lost Cherry, which i love.
When I decided I wanted to step my parfum game up & spend the coins these were the 2 I also was stuck on. So what I did was buy the real BC540 oil and dupe parfum ( Alt & zara) & bought Delina a week later. I loved the smell of BC 540 so much & I wanted the real thing of the parfum. So a few months later during the neiman marcus sale I bought the big bottle. You can't go wrong with both. They are very different but I get the most compliments when ever I wear either. 🥰

I wanna push the button on BR540 so bad but I hate it's disappearing act. 1 minute I smell it then the next I don't. It's such a great fragrance I want to smell it the entire time I'm wearing it.
Completely agree. They are both completely different but equally amazing. I must be both girls 😩 I’m sniffing both my samples now. I’ve decided to get 540 now since I feel it’s better for fall and winter and I’ll buy Delina in the spring! Im obsessed with them both though!
So, I've smelled both of them. Bacarat has a gourmand-y sweetness to it. I smelled it a couple of times and the dry down was pleasant...and I was done. But I kept on smelling Delina. They are 2 totally different scents, but I leaned more toward Delina. Ariana Grande's Cloud is said to be a very close match for Bacarat Rouge, but I did not like Cloud the first time I smelled it (more than a year ago)...and I did not care for it when I smelled it again about a week ago.
I own both, but I like Baccarat Rouge 540 more. Sometimes Delina is a little too feminine for me. I have only been complimented on my fragrance with two perfumes....Baccarat Rouge 540 and YSL Libre. So the first I was changing my shoes for a pilates class. After I walked away, the receptionist walked past where I had been and could still smell the perfume. She loved it and asked me what it was. The second time, was the cashier at a drive-thru! Apparently, they catch a whiff of everyone when the window opens....so I'm glad I smelled good! Lol
I couldn't smell it at first either. Then I just smelled band aids. Then I got Guess Seductive Red which has that airy BR540 in the background and I fell in love with that. Now I still can't smell BR540 completely but it's addictive and I layer it with everything now. I'm obsessed. I had to learn how to smell it. Sounds weird but that's what happened.
You were spot on with this one! They cannot be compared because they smell so different. I’d say both are needed but I would get 540 first because of the versatility.

bR540 is a scent you wear for other people bc after the initial opening, most likely you won’t be able to smell it anymore due to the ambroxan. Delina you wear for yourself and everyone else but it can be overbearing…. I have both

It's your body chemistry. There are times I can have on a fragrance and smell it. There are times I can't but someone else compliments me. It really depends on body chemistry.
for me it’s Delina...but only because Baccarat Rouge 540 doesn’t smell good on me. it’s got to be my chemistry. when i wear Delina i get tons of compliments. like all day. so i agree with Cheraye about starting with samples for everything.
I only like Delina for its packaging.. good thing i tried buying one in decant before committing for a full size… it is not for me. I love BR540. I also like its cheap dupe, Cloud 😊..

Wow I was gifted the scented body cream. Honestly it smells fabulous for a guy, extremely masculine. But after several hours the scent softens and becomes feminine. But with layering it can become feminine.
I have both but started out with Baccarat 540. I bought First Kiss and played with that for a couple of months before I actually purchased Delina. Lucky Scent also has fragrance samples
I would get both, but I'd probably start with Delina😊. She is pretty. Bacarrat feels so sophisticated. I thought the same about Delina, but yoh, Bacarrat is very sophisticated. I need to be all bathed to wear her or him. Delina is definitely a she. Pretty royalty gal.
I agree! Get them both, but I love, live for a gourmand fragrance and I reach more for Delina most often. But when you want to snatch edges by the root, get Baccarat. Love her!
Both. But if I had to get one it would probably be 540 because it works for any and all occasions, day or night, in any climate/season. Delina for me is a day scent (and the exclusif for evening). It’s also very spring/summer (and exclusif for fall/winter). But I have and love both so MFK first, then Delina. ♥️
I have both, exclusif version of delina though which I find creamier and more powdery. I would say if you like more feminine scents go with Delina because BR540 is more unisex/bougie to me! So bougie I haven’t worn it during the day unless I was going to a nice luncheon…. But I can honestly say I reach for both equally!! So if you have the money, do it…grab both!!!! You will not be disappointed.
It’s so true! Fragrances are very personal. The more you try, the more you learn about the notes and compositions, the better you get a feel for if you’ll like certain fragrances. I’ve recently realized I can’t stand 90% of fragrances with patchouli, pink pepper, licorice, plum and rose+bergamot combo. Most women do not share the same opinion as me at all and that’s ok! I LOVE BR540.

I 100% agree with Baccarat I don’t smell it on me but do smell it on my clothes and it drives me crazy! I love the sent just wish it wasn’t so “close to the skin” imo on my skin!
I don't have either. Guess I better get with it, but I didn't like B540 on me when I tried it. I still have not smelled Delina. I guess I need to give B540 another chance, but I'll try B Layered first before I spend all those coins.
See, I really like how you describe the scent disappearing and reappearing. I have noticed this with scents on different days and at different times. It will hide, then reappear. I have especially noticed this in finer scents with a story to tell. I’ve noticed this primary with Oriana, Safand, and Delina. Where Bacarat 540, and Casiili tend to stay fluid powering through on me. Flower bomb, and flower bomb nectar also power through. I just truly believe it is the fluctuation of our own pheromone and chemistry. ❤️

Interesting..I had no idea Baccarat was unisex!! It smells very sweet like cotton candy to me and I agree with it smells very light and watery to me.
It truly depends!!!! There are many passable 540 dupes and I can't say the same for Delina. HOWEVER...540 is way more versatile, in my opinion.

I wanna push the button on BR540 so bad but I hate it's disappearing act. 1 minute I smell it then the next I don't. It's such a great fragrance I want to smell it the entire time I'm wearing it.

Completely agree. They are both completely different but equally amazing. I must be both girls 😩 I’m sniffing both my samples now. I’ve decided to get 540 now since I feel it’s better for fall and winter and I’ll buy Delina in the spring! Im obsessed with them both though!

So, I've smelled both of them. Bacarat has a gourmand-y sweetness to it. I smelled it a couple of times and the dry down was pleasant...and I was done. But I kept on smelling Delina. They are 2 totally different scents, but I leaned more toward Delina. Ariana Grande's Cloud is said to be a very close match for Bacarat Rouge, but I did not like Cloud the first time I smelled it (more than a year ago)...and I did not care for it when I smelled it again about a week ago.
I own both, but I like Baccarat Rouge 540 more. Sometimes Delina is a little too feminine for me.
I have only been complimented on my fragrance with two perfumes....Baccarat Rouge 540 and YSL Libre. So the first I was changing my shoes for a pilates class. After I walked away, the receptionist walked past where I had been and could still smell the perfume. She loved it and asked me what it was. The second time, was the cashier at a drive-thru! Apparently, they catch a whiff of everyone when the window opens....so I'm glad I smelled good! Lol

540 Smells like water to me...I cannot smell it for the life of me. I will never buy it. Delina Exclusive was my wedding Fragrance and I love it.

It doesn’t have much of a perfume smell to me. It smells like sweet air and kinda cheap. Somebody said it smells like sugar water and they’re right
I couldn't smell it at first either. Then I just smelled band aids. Then I got Guess Seductive Red which has that airy BR540 in the background and I fell in love with that. Now I still can't smell BR540 completely but it's addictive and I layer it with everything now. I'm obsessed. I had to learn how to smell it. Sounds weird but that's what happened.

These are two very different parfumés! How can you compare them? And what is the purpose of such a comparison? Why either -or, when you should have them both? Like me! I have both the fragrances and love them.
bR540 is a scent you wear for other people bc after the initial opening, most likely you won’t be able to smell it anymore due to the ambroxan. Delina you wear for yourself and everyone else but it can be overbearing…. I have both

for me it’s Delina...but only because Baccarat Rouge 540 doesn’t smell good on me. it’s got to be my chemistry. when i wear Delina i get tons of compliments. like all day. so i agree with Cheraye about starting with samples for everything.

Wow I was gifted the scented body cream. Honestly it smells fabulous for a guy, extremely masculine. But after several hours the scent softens and becomes feminine. But with layering it can become feminine.

I would get both, but I'd probably start with Delina😊. She is pretty. Bacarrat feels so sophisticated. I thought the same about Delina, but yoh, Bacarrat is very sophisticated. I need to be all bathed to wear her or him. Delina is definitely a she. Pretty royalty gal.

Both. But if I had to get one it would probably be 540 because it works for any and all occasions, day or night, in any climate/season. Delina for me is a day scent (and the exclusif for evening). It’s also very spring/summer (and exclusif for fall/winter). But I have and love both so MFK first, then Delina. ♥️
I have both, exclusif version of delina though which I find creamier and more powdery. I would say if you like more feminine scents go with Delina because BR540 is more unisex/bougie to me! So bougie I haven’t worn it during the day unless I was going to a nice luncheon…. But I can honestly say I reach for both equally!! So if you have the money, do it…grab both!!!! You will not be disappointed.

It’s so true! Fragrances are very personal. The more you try, the more you learn about the notes and compositions, the better you get a feel for if you’ll like certain fragrances. I’ve recently realized I can’t stand 90% of fragrances with patchouli, pink pepper, licorice, plum and rose+bergamot combo. Most women do not share the same opinion as me at all and that’s ok! I LOVE BR540.
That's why I love playing with fragrances and exploring different fragrance notes, everything isn't for everybody and that's okay 🤗 at least you kmow what you like
I personally can’t smell baccarat, was so glad I went to the shop to test it out . The extrait I can smell though but to me, not worth all that money
To save money I invested in buying Baccarat 540. I only the bought PDM Delina body lotion. I layer my Delina lotion with First kiss from Belayered. 😊

See, I really like how you describe the scent disappearing and reappearing. I have noticed this with scents on different days and at different times. It will hide, then reappear. I have especially noticed this in finer scents with a story to tell. I’ve noticed this primary with Oriana, Safand, and Delina. Where Bacarat 540, and Casiili tend to stay fluid powering through on me. Flower bomb, and flower bomb nectar also power through. I just truly believe it is the fluctuation of our own pheromone and chemistry. ❤️
