MPC 4000 in 2024? - Honestly Its The Best Of All The Vintage MPC's and in this video I share why

  • The 4000 was years ahead of its time. On June 5th 2002 the #MPC4000 was released. It was feature packed, but the departure from some of the normal #Akaimpc workflow caused a bit of controversy in the producer community. It was also ridiculously expensive for the time so not a lot of people bought it.... Well it's been 22 years and this machine still holds up. It sounds great, it has a lot of the features the new MPC's have without the "sound" issue the newer machines have. If you are on the fence about getting one of these, I highly recommend them. Mine is a custom build from ‪@ghostinmpc‬ in Japan and I totally love it.

    I love this machine the most.
    I still want this for my studio. Had 2 chances to buy. I was ready. The seller(s) bull s. Both times. I grabbed an mpc key and run main outs through an Akai reel to reel, reel to reel through a Soundcraft mixer, Soundcraft to ssl 2+, 2+ to daw for audio print.

    Just started using mine again after years using first the X and then the One. The newer MPCs have some good features but the 4000 sounds alot better and can go up to 96k. Its a pain with file transfers though.

    I would love to get a 4K but when I had the option of a 4000 or a 3000 I went with the 3K. It's easy to figure out how to use and has a button per function. From what I've heard the workflow of the 4000 takes time to figure out, unlike the 3000 which is easy if you have used any other vintage MPC. You contradict yourself by saying that the workflow of the 4000 is way more intuitive than the 3000 and then afterwards state that the 4000 is known for the learning curve being quite a bit different on it. The 4K has way more features, that's agreed but the 3K is just easy to use and it sounds great. That's my opinion, but I still want a 4K lol

      Intuitive and learning curve can absolutely coincide. Intuitive because once you understand the workflow it’s extremely easy….. learning curve because, it’s different

      @@RobViktum I hear you. Like I said I want one, but when I had the choice between the two I went for the 3000 because each button has a function so no shift button to access anything, and it was the first MPC I used that I didn't need a manual or a tutorial to figure out how to use it. I was told that I would have to learn the 4000. I'm ready for that now so hopefully when I get another windfall I'll buy one. I think for more complex types of projects it's probably got everything that I need right there in the box and sonics wise it's supposed to be close to the 3000. Would you say sonics wise that they are comparable?

    • @BORN7SUPREME
      @BORN7SUPREME 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The blue models it (ADAT) was standard option when purchased, however it was a aftermarket upgrade via the rear slot if the model didn’t have one on any 4K.

      @@BORN7SUPREME The way I see it you could go one of two ways (I mean anyone could hypothetically) get a 500 series lunchbox and some cards to process everything that way, or get a vintage mixer a 1/4" track open reel tape machine and use that to process everything. Ideally I feel that having the equipment so you are able to go either way depending on the needs of the project would be ideal.
